  • Yeah... I love target shooting, sniping is so cool and long rage shots send chills down my spine.

BUT TO A LIVE TARGET. WTF, guys, what if you miss?! It'll take you an hour to get the animal to finish it off. Geeez, have some empathy!

  • These people are horrible. If you have a 5 mph cross wind the bullet will be blown off by a couple of feet at only 300 yards. They dont care about clean kills on animals they only care about selling a product at the expense of a wounded animal. This is B.S.!!!

  • @meadowlarkable I'm curious. Do you have data to back-up the wind drift you elude to?

  • this is a great system, but WAY to much money. I still say a good 'ol Remignton Model 700 with a decent bushnell or leupold scope will get the job done.

  • You spent 1600 on a mark4? Someone got robbed. Your up in the real scope market with that kind of money.

  • This turret system does not look like anything new. Am I missing something? I have a Leupold Mark 4 that has turrets for .223, .308, .30.06 and .300win. Also you can call Leupold and give them your exact load and they will make you a custom turret.

  • why the fuck do u have to kill for nothing

  • @ajman66

Where does it say they are killing for nothing?

  • @ajman66 They eat the animal, where do you think beef at the local butcher comes from a tree, nope some cow in a paddock died to give you that. Theres no difference between shooting and fishing.

  • @ajman66 if you dont like it, dont watch it

  • Lol i didn't realise its a teleshopping ad until the end

  • @noneentity yes.

  • i just got a new sniper...anyone wana tell me hoe to focus the scope?im having trouble with it

  • These things are amazing. If I ever strike lucky on the lotery then this is the third thing I will buy (ya I have a list)

  • @Outdoorsforum hopefully learning to spell ranks at 1 or 2

  • @alderaforall Riding the world of ass wipes like you is on the list also!!

  • GunWorks Sucks

  • Erin sucks

  • so at 1000 feet you system works. then i go to 8000 feet and without a turret change im shooting way high. so i change my turret. then i see all the elk are at 5000 feet now i have to change my turret again because im shooting low. now the elk whent up the mountain to 7000 feet and now im shooting high again so i have to change my turret. see a problem with this system yet? nightforce and a pda for me

  • so if im at 1000 feet and its 60 degrees and your system works, then when i go on a colorado elk hunt your system will not because of temp, humidity and elevation. i understand that you can switch turrets but if ur on mountains ranging from say 5000 to 9000 free do i have to change the turret every 1000 feet i go up? i think i will just stick with a nightforce and a pda

  • @bobistuff I don't think you under stand the turrets the ad says two turrets from sea level to 7000 ft. one will work for elevations up to say 4000 ft the other from 4000ft to 7000 ft if that dosen't make sense you better stay home!

  • @treeman959 i think you better stay home. from 4000 feet to 7000 feet is a little less than two minutes of angle difference. i just looked on my ballistic program. and with that said at 1000 yards thats about 20 inches off of point of aim. so shoot at anything that far away and your gonna miss. so i dont think you know what your talking about. maybe you should know what your talking about before you try and tell someone who does know whats their talking about to stay home.

  • thats incredible

  • I prefear getting close to my game its funner than shooting at these ranges.

  • At 925 yards a 6.5-.284 has only 1100 ft/lbs of energy. If you misjudge the wind by 1.5 mph, a half minute rifle with a perfect hold won't hold on a pie pan. 99.99% of shooters have no business trying that shot.

  • @CheekWelder Maybe so, only if you have practised the shot and are sure you can make the shot.

  • I am sorry but why did you say "Propaganda not welcome here." I am not anti-hunter or anti-gun, I was just asking a question out of curiosity. I think there was a missunder standing

  • @TheIronicBanana It doesn't matter what your view is about hunting, before you post about any subject, it would be well to educate yourself about that subject. Propaganda pulls on the emotions while disregarding the facts.

  • hi guys i live in central ny and work at redding reoading. its agreat pleasure to see you guys usng our product and obviouly the results you have with them! i hope someday i wll own that gunwks 6.5-284 with te huskemaw scope on it! keep up the good work gentlemen and always look forward to seeing what you uys will do next! nevermind the propaganda from the people who will never kow what it takes to send a bullet 1000yrds + away and make a clean kil!

  • @woodchuckslayer86 Thanks!

  • Oops sorry my mistake that was not a baby elk! After re-watching the tape I realized that.

  • @TheIronicBanana Just for the record...Bull Elks do not partake in the rearing of calves. They hang with other bulls until rut, then it's all business, usually August thru November. Propaganda not welcome here.

  • I have nothing against hunting, but I don't think you should kill a parent that is with it's child. Call me a hippy or tree hugger or peta (I am not, I am a conservative) But was that adult with it's child? Once again please don't block me I enjoy your videos, I am just asking a question not trying to bash hunting in any way.

  • Quote from Bustamonkey "1:46 u can clearly see thats a parent with its child and the parent got killed. "

B-monkey you need to get out in the wilderness and learn a bit about wildlife. That was a male elk that was shot, and the other was a cow elk- a female not a "child". Male elk are involved with a calf elk at conception and only at conception. Other than that the mature male could care less about young elk. After reaching maturity male elk are solitary except during breeding...

  • this is not hunting. If you can shoot a elk from 30 yards I will be imprest.

  • why do people enjoy killing animals for sport? 1:46 u can clearly see thats a parent with its child and the parent got killed. wtf guys. wtf

  • Just for the record, all the meat from the animals that were harvested on our hunts were processed and donated to local food banks.

  • @BustaMonkey1234 if somone is gona kill just to kill its wrong, but if ur going to eat the meat then it shouldnt matter. i mean i like the taste of deer more than beef so thats why i hunt. and one bullet is cheaper than a good steak

  • @BustaMonkey1234

I'm not a hunter but I think people should be able to hunt. Also, the animals that die by the hand of a sport hunter die a much more dignified and humane death than any animal that is raised on a commercial farm. Just so you can go to Food Maxx and buy neatly packaged steaks.

  • The 375 Cheytac will piss excellence all over those guns.

  • @acquireditems maybe.but it will also get the animal to disappear ...

  • There's nothing special about these rifles it's all in the caliber. You could take any Remington 700 or any other decent brand with a big fast round and kill stuff at 1000 yards. Knowing how to calibrate your scope helps too

  • Awesome Video!! This past year I watched a guy shoot a 385" bull elk using his Gunwerks Long Range Hunter Rifle System in a 7 mag at 685 yards... one shot, one kill! These rifles speak for themselves!

  • Bullshit!

  • bunch of noobz!! i hunt only using rocks and sticks!! hahaha!!! nahhh but i killed a bird with a airsoft gun once!! yahhh good times!!

  • when is it no longer hunting and its just shooting

  • ok so why doesnt the military use this lol its extremely accurate and powerful why wouldnt the military adpat this

  • Best EVER? I'm skeptical. First of all, plenty of people shoot handloads through factory Remington 700's that well. So all these high doller guns are a bit over rated in my opinion. Cool? Yes! Great guns? Yes! I've seen a lot of $1,000 guns shoot as well as these multi-thousand guns. And Chey Tac M200 should be better, iwaytur14, for what it costs. Furthermore, shooting animals at 1,000 is fine if you know you can kill it. Please don't get to hard on these guys for that.

  • wow this is great and all , but do they come left handed, if not ill take my 3 grand else where, joking kind of ?!

  • this is good but cheytac m200 is better..just saying. my opinion

  • I shoot that distance with a remington 700 what makes that rifle so much better ?

  • But then you have to carrie the animal is that not a huge project, no ?

  • These morons out walking around shooting 1000 yards is scary! Buncha BUFU's!

  • @zsteinle Couldn't agree with you more. Keep the 1,000 yards shots on the range, hitting paper and gongs, not wounding animals.

  • I would love to get one of these chambered in a Lapua .338 mag. I do some hunting in WY, and CO and find that the Weatherby .300 mag is a nice pipe and round but in some conditions lacks the kinetic energy in some humidity and elevation to maintain dropping power.

I look forward to adding one of your systems to my collection.

  • campers

  • hahaha

  • The Mosin Nagant 91/30 has a 28 inch barrel along the a 7.62X54R round. Same length, uses bigger ammunition and is only 100 bucks. Only better about the Gunwerks Long Range Hunter is it's ability to mount a scope that isn't LER.

  • i wondered if a 30 06 is a good long range gun

  • Ethical Hunting at it's finest

  • sooo want for culling red deers in scotland :D

  • oh my god they did it they built a scope that defies altitude density and deflection in the form of a magic turret!!! and where can i find a berger 140 with a 640 g1 bc value or are they only available with a magic turret. a jlk 140 is not even .640b.c. hey nevermind assessing conditions everyone just buy a gunwerks rifle and huskamew optics and start taking your 700+ shots. uphill downhill spin drift and other aspects go right out the window with these magic turrets. BULLSHIT!!!!

  • @cheswick37 lol if only we all had magic turrets

  • @cheswick37 I agree, the highest ballistic coefficient 6.5 caliber 140 grain bullet I see in Bergers lineup is .612 G1, where are they pulling .640 G1 from?

    Braxton

  • i would like to buy there scope but not there gun with it.Does anyone know how good that scope works with a basic 7mag or is it a package deal to shoot that good and accurate you need to buy the gun with the scope?

  • i have taken my rem. 700 tactical .308 savage out to 1300 yards. using a BSA scope.

i have seen people do it with a 10/22 at 1000.

its not the gun, but the shooter.

  • Is there a turret to compensate for the elk's movement during flight time at 2:08?

    ...hmm...

  • wow...this thing is thousands of dollars...i have a better idea. get a good rifle with a good scope for ONE thousand, and learn to shoot it. this thing almost seems like cheating, the way its advertised. it seems like you can buy this gun and you will instantly be able to shoot those long distances.

  • @kubedwheel4 This system is just for those who dont want to devote their lives to becoming great at something and think they should be good no matter how much they suck at life.

  • @kubedwheel4 LOL, you still need to practise. Try holding your crosshairs on somthing 500 yrds, then go out to 900 and tell me how easy it would be.

  • @kubedwheel4 its only 1600 bucks...and they do everything including siting it in. Its totally worth it! Gunwerks = amazing.

  • @BearBaylor69

For the whole setup? That's not bad. I have a Remington 700 VTR $750, Leupold Mark 4 $1600, B&C Stock $230, bipod $120. Scope mount and rings $100. Crap adds up qucik.

  • lol I like what I started down there... wooly mamoth! xD

  • $6000 ?!!?!!!? really ??!!?

  • I want to learn to shoot... then get that gun :D

  • bagdad joba

  • i once shot a wooly mammoth from 3 feet!

  • You guys are good.

All I can shoot is dinosaur.

  • 925! I believe you missed or something the deer didn't go down! it was still very much alive! lol why are you guys soo excited about it! lol

  • I once shot an elephant from 1000 yards with a 9mm Glock 17!!!

  • Did you have a Huskemaw on that Glock?

  • Nope! I made my own sight with a straw, mirror, paperclip, and carrot!

  • Can ya send me the plans for that? :D

  • @CRFbadass compliments on that shot, but I wonder , is it disrespectful towards the elephant to shoot it with a handgun, I mean if I were an elephant I'd prefer to get shot by something huge...

  • I want that rifle!

  • And how well can you shoot? It's easy to talk tuff about something you know nothing about.

  • You may tell Beitner to be quiet but he is right I am a trained sniper and I can tell you from exp that there is way more to it than just point and shoot like they are trying to preseve.

  • A cyber sniper? BF2 or some back yard sniper wannabe class is not "training."

  • You dont know shit about him. Shut ya mouth :)

  • how much does this beauty costs???????????

  • shut up beitner1 u nerd. u take the fun out of everything

  • why wouldnt the military use something like this?

  • do u aim for the spine or gut?

  • vitals: heart , liver, lungs

  • brain

  • chey tac m200 .408

hits a MAN SIZED target at 1.5 MILES!!!!!!

  • What kind of bi-pod is the young man using in the 925 yard Elk shot? I noticed that it is detachable and would like to take a look at one, please let me know if can?

  • A Rapid Pivot with Stock Attachment Hardware made by Stoney Point.

  • The turret labeling is fine for simplicity but if you you shoot long range enough in different atmospheric conditions you find that it will change the trajectory. You could still hit an animal but guranteeing a hit in the vitals while disregarding these factors seems irresponsible at best. If one had enough experience compenation for these conditions may still be possible with the BDC turrets, but sending these rifles out, telling guys it's a 1000yd "out of the box" hunting set up??? Come on.

  • Beitner1 after talking with one of our Best of the West staff via email have you come to any new convictions about our systems? Or do you still feel the same way as your post above states? Hope everything is cleared up on what we're about. Thanks for starting a dialogue.

  • I appreciate you guys taking the time to comunicate with me online. To answer your question here's part of what I posted in a forum you guys now sponsor.... It was regarding one of your scope systems and this video. It will take a few posts here so bare with me..." I personally found it hard to watch with continuous "it's just that easy" and "1000yd hunting rifle out of the box" comments from "experts". I was quite supprised how nice these guys actually are and...

  • and that they do infact understand the need for adjusting for atmospheric conditions, elevation, angle, etc. I was told that specific instructions about these factors come with their rifles and scopes and that they stress the need for practice etc. I truly believe these guys don't want their customers going arround and taking irresponsible shots at game. I'm especially glad to hear that these scopes come with MOA turrets!

    That being said....

  • That being said....

The BDC turrets are a great idea for simplicity when an experienced shooter is behind the rifle and understands the adjustments that must be made for the factors mentioned above. The issue (from my point of view) is BDC turrets have great appeal to inexperienced shooters who are likely to not make such corrections. When turrets are in MOA and Mills a bit of field experince will show one that the come up is not always the same.

  • same. It's easy to adjust for these veriables expecially when using something like the NF/X-ball program along with a Kestrel. When the turrets are labeled in yardage it gives the false sense that it should always be the same. Maybe for some of you this is the case but it has not been my experience. I've talked with some local customers of Huskemaw and they have a scarry confidence that the next deer that walks within 1000yds is going to be in their freezer and that it's "as easy as pie".

  • pie". The scarry part? They had not fired their rifles beyond 300yds! I believe this is a direct result of the TV show and videos. This issue was also explained to me by the BOTW guy. To get the TV shows aired they must be entertaining and it's difficult to have lots of info and remain so. I think these guys have a good product and wish them the best but I would never recommend them to an inexperienced shooter. I'm glad they have decided to advertised here where...

  • where there are many expereinced marksman who can make good use of these scopes.

This is just my opinion, I sincerely hope I don't offend anyone.

    Lucas"

So my opinion has changed to a degree. I wish you guys the best, and I hope you continue to put ethics first. For long range hunters it's an up hill battle. It can be done right but nothing can be left out of the equasion if a clean shot is the goal. Continue to not let business compromise your stand in this regard.

  • so how does it compensate for the wind and all tht

  • We are producing another shooting tip that explains how the Huskemaw scope works and it addresses wind and bullet drop in detail. Keep an eye out.

    Gary

    Best of the West

  • im 14 years old and my costom r700 7mm can his its target at 1245 check out my vid

"Long Range Shooting - 1,245 yards at propane tank! Longest shot ever!"

  • yea sure you did. i looked on your profile no videos. huh looked up the video. belongs to mdidaho. and they never hit the tank. so i dont think we should claim others vids as our own now should we

  • and tht .22 shot at a mile. ha in your dreams.

  • Even military sniper rifle of similar caliber can't compete with these rifles?

  • the .338 rem ultra mag holds the sniper kill record. makes the 'gunwerks; look like a pop gun. 2400 or so meters. documented in afghan by a british sniper. it's on youtube.

  • $6000.00. I know, cause I own one.

  • goooosh i cant pay that much my 700p was expensive enough

  • how much do one of these cost
