i know from my own experience, i played rockband drums for 2 years and then i decided it was time to move up and because of rockband i was months ahead of people that started at the same time as me, although the placement is wrong and there are no cymbals, rockband does help you on real drums and the kickpedal helps you also

That is the point, it is a game. They are limited to 4 drum heads and a bass pedal when a normal drum kit has a ton of drums and cymbals. The easier modes are meant to just be easy, not to match the beat (although they somewhat try), and besides, it is a game. It is fun and that is all that matters.

To play drums you need rhythm. Like it or not, Rockband also requires rhythm. So if you are really good a Rockband, chances are if you put your mind to it, you can play the real thing good too.

Dude, if you are a real drummer and you are failing at this game when other real drummers like Cena are really awed at how accurate it is most of the time, then you are doing it all wrong.

Other real drummers acknowledge that there is some stuff you just can't chart in the game, but aside from that is a pretty accurate depiction, some even say its harder because of the stricter timing, so no, you fail at the game cos you can't keep tempo.

theyre socks. take a rubber band and a sock for each drum piece. it helps make more sensitivity and less over hits

Check the notes. He says that he does not actually play drums. For those of you looking for a good way to tell, watch/listen when someone plays a fill. If it sounds like it fits and gels well, that's a good indicator that points towards real experience. Of course, the only way to get better at that is with practice.

If I remember correctly from Azurite's videos, he used socks to hold down the pads so they were more sensitive and picked up his strokes better.

That's a very good observation about the fills...I never thought about that, but it's true...I play drums (and learned a LOT from Rock band, so don't let anyone say it's not the same...they're very VERY close...rock band requires the same coordination drumming on a set requires).

I play drums and always throw in a nice fill...not for points, just for sound. Rockband drummers (not real ones) usually just slam their sticks on the pads...
