Margarine, fats from plants ,leaves an after taste, better flavour then lard and shortening.

Wow, I can't imagine using shortening in cookies. Butter DEF is a must in cookies, imo. It's all about texture (vs margarine). But I wonder what the texture is like with shortening. May have to try these and find out!
