  • put put put put put put put put

  • 127 years and still running!

  • oh this thing... makes me feel young again

  • first car ever? nicolas cugnot would disagree

  • At least its safer then a smart car.

  • Living history(Mercedes-the beginning)!

  • Imagine living back then and in your whole life seeing horse drawn carriages, then see something moving without being pulled like this car going down the street. Must have been a very disturbing sight.

  • This engine is made the exact same way it would have been built in 1887. its 126 year old technology and it still runs better than all the chevys and gmc's on the road. lol.

  • Search Youtube

    Leonardo Da Vinci Automovile (1495)

  • and for my next invention...a 4mile traffic jam.

  • The car in this video is a replica. There are several of them in various locations around the world. I drove one of them about ten years ago.

  • All information is false unless you were there. What we can do now is, slow down and smell the roses. Before they and the rest of life is gone.

  • Sorry but this information here is false...

the first automobile in the History was not this...

The first automobile thus the first object not move by the strenght of an animal (horse, cow or others) was the French "Machine à vapeur" "LE FARDIER" made by Cugnot a French Engeneer in... 1769 !!

The French Cugnot "Machine à vapeur" LE FARDIER was the real 1st "Automobile" in the History !

The real 1st ancester of all the cars and trains nowadays !

  • This is not the first car as it is a reproduction of one of the first cars. However Siegfried Marcus had a car running in 1879. In addition, a guy named de Rivaz took out a patent for an internal combustion powered vehicle in 1807. But before that Cugnot had a self propelled steam wagon running in 1770. Beat that!

  • @kafcan - you are correct

  • @kafcan The Benz Patent Motorwagen made the first long distance drive in history.

  • Wow, it's in mint condition! Must've been garage kept.

  • TONIGHT:

I go back in time to drive the world's first car

    Richard joins me

    And we meet James there!

  • PUT SOME 26 AND IT WILL LOOK AWSOME

  • gasp or grasp!

  • It´s a shame that we dont´innovate anything anymore, only improving the given and take what we need.

  • I think it be faster to take a horse!

  • @ems7218 i checked on wikipedia, it went 16km/h that is not faster than a horse

  • Benz motorwagen amg?

  • How much per gallon of fuel back then?

  • @FabioCustodio123 15 cents

  • *applause* to Karl Benz greatly appreciated for his work, its beautiful! I would pay for a ride.

  • Cool

  • that looks fucken retarded

  • This threewheeler from Charles Benz was not the first motorcar. That was the steam wagon of Cugnot with which he made first roll-out in 1769 in Paris.

  • @pedowife4kids Steam-Mobiles are not considered cars. This is the first car that has the same basic function that our cars have today.

  • @andromedarr Does it really? Cars of today have 4 wheels, an 4-8cyl engine without a swinging wheel, electric flash lights etc. And what is with electric cars? Are n't they motor cars, since they have an electric engine? Pffft! This 3wheeler of Benz is only a step inside the development of modern cars which startet already when Leonardo Da Vinci constructed his automatic clock work driven toy vehicle in the 16th century.

  • @pedowife4kids It does. A gas driven, 4 stroke pistonengine is the engine, it has gas and brake-pedals, uses brakes, is light and small, so it can be driven by one person, has a steering wheel, etc etc.

  • @pedowife4kids you mean 15th century...

  • To think that this was the start of some of the worlds most silent and well built cars.

  • No burn out??? :(

  • Having trouble starting it?

  • is this the AMG model? :D

  • thats wasnt the first car, tractors were considerd cars too.and tractores were used by farmers in the USA,so americans made the first car.

  • the kids like ooh shit my fingers this is not worth minimum wage

  • same horsepower as my weedeater bicycle

  • oh my dear boy we be rolling on the 30 inches hm hm hm hm

  • Step on the gas bitch!

  • Y didnt they actually drive it? Probably goes pretty fast! Fuck ya! 3mph!

  • WOOO YEAhhhhh runnin on 2 cylinders!

  • Techno engine sound!

  • What a Beauty! I would love to get my hands on her.

    The Girl is OK to.

  • damn we need a starter up on this bitch you know the sold water colling systems as aftermarket

  • Lol This is a Dinosaur

  • Dayum what's that a 300 hp engine?

  • needs a nitro tank...

  • They see me rollin

  • Benz didn't make the first car engine, but made the first car. Ford didn't make the first car, but the first car assembly line. Just some history.

  • lol turbo charger XD

  • Was that an SS?

  • wasnt the first car ever made in France by Nicolas Cognot in 1769?

  • 0-10 in 60 seconds!

  • 0-60 in 2min! =D

  • love how the crank and rod are outside the engine

  • @will79601 Yea really eh, these things couldn't have lasted long, the wear of them bearings would happen fast

  • Look at me I'm ridin durdy.... Look at me ridin durdy...

  • I am so going to get flack for this.

Arguably this is the first application of the internal combustion engine in an automobile, not the first car. That would be the 1769 & 1771 Fardiers a Vapeur as built in pre-revolutionary France by army engineer Nicolas Joseph Cugnot.

Sorry Germany, France beat you to it.

  • OK so it is the first practical, commercially available……. The Fardiers a Vapeur as prototypes were failures and never achieved their design specifications.

  • @zpunk81 While the first Motorwagen could manage whopping 8mph and the first Fardier could only manage 2mph, the Fardier could do 2mph while hauling 18th century artillery.

You could hardly describe the 1885 Motorwagen as commercially available since only 1 of each model was built for the first 3 different cars. However 2 Fardiers were built.

The fardier was discontinued because Marquis de Monteynard's failure to return General Gribeauval's letter requesting further development, due to war.

  • They see me rollin they hatin

  • ugly

  • of course GERMAN. Germany is the best land ever. DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND.

Wir Deutschen haben defacto alles erfunden was wichtig war und ist.

  • @starbooster123 There is nothing wrong with being proud of who you are and where you are from. The problem starts when a group of people or even a nation are duped into believing that they are exclusive and somehow superior to every other nation on earth. It would be wise to take a lesson from history but, oh how we just love to repeat it and refuse to learn from it.

  • @starbooster123 Doucheland :P

  • this is not a car

  • la prima automobile al mondo, ragazzi... l'auto di karl benz, colui a cui è stata attestata anche la primissima patente di guida, in formato a4...

  • now do a burn out with that!!

  • dont want to get a rod know with all that boost! haha if it was turbod

  • That is very nifty. Really makes me take advantage of my electric start, fuel injected, automatic transmission, and power steering compared to this beast. Also, for those who do not like Mercedes Benz, this is still an engineering marvel. Without this "motorwagen", almost every car today would not have had the inspiration to build the other cars, and cause competition, and have auto manufacturers striving to make newer, and better technology.

  • Yo we rollin on 40s

  • @Darklordkime 20 horsepower yaaa

  • This car is Legend!

  • now drift it!

  • Sweet i'll add a turbo kit to raise the horsepower from 1, to 5 hp. Now i'm a real big dog! lol. Brilliant invention. Lucky for you guys to have this!

  • You can keep the car ,give please girl to me C:

  • @fundreamer1 Actually, I enjoyed reading his "feeble" opinions. He seems to know what he's talking about. And if your going to say you don't like Mercedes because there are cars with better mpg, then you must not be a fan of Ferrari, bugatti,Porsche,BMW,lotus,Lamborghini,Audi, bentley, rolls or any other super car either, because the Nissan leaf has the best mileage right now. And as for handling, the ford fiesta beat a corvette zr1 in a competition. I drive mercedes, because I want a real McCoy

  • its not moving i mean the car

  • ur engine seems to have a loud tick to it LOL

  • RUN EM OVER!!!

  • that belt doesn't look to safe. very odd

  • Comment removed

  • where is the smoke lol

  • more like 1 or 2 hp

  • things got like 800hp lol

  • The SLK model comes with a gramophone as standard.

  • @qotsaandsoadfan1 new fangled disc records, bah! i'll stick to my cylinder records.

  • imagine that ''car'' with some nitrous on it

  • @Achilles2397 i`l pay to see that

  • lol just imagine a drive by in this thing at it just randomly shuts off

  • The world's first car was built in 1769 by Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot. This is still cool though.

  • @KenMacMillan Are you talking about the steam one?

  • @TheRudeClown Yeah, that behemoth that crashed through a brick wall...

  • @KenMacMillan It caused the death of a friend and soon after, his funding was cut off. The man died without a penny to his name

  • this is a replica, right?

  • sounds like a dog breathing o.O

  • Benz still the kings!

  • Looks like a 4-stroke cycle engine. Where can I see one on permanent display?

  • thats an amazing replica...and it sonds beautiful...just thinke...we have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 cylinder engines these days...all still based on this very concept of the I.C.E.

  • i agree with fundreamer1, the really first car, is the French "fardier de cugnot" made by nicolas Cugnot .... this is not Benz

  • @santinoit U're right...a steam car !!

  • Cavemen invented the first car, you are all fucking retarded.

  • This is very nice! But it was not the first car ever made. Ferdinand Verbiest invented the first car in the year 1672, while in china. It was a toy however.

In 1769, the first self-propelled car was designed and built by Nicholas Cugnot.

While Benz did have the first car ever put into production, he was not close to being the first to build one.

  • @fundreamer1 and @santinoit

To be specific, Karl Benz invented the first gasoline- or petrol-powered car--the predecessor of all gas cars used today. Cugnot made steam-engine-powered vehicle...

Benz cars are still around...are there any Cugnot cars?

Anyway, there's no ONE specifc person who invented the car. It involved a lot of inventors...

  • @gce9884 LOL! You wish to get technical and picky? Horse drawn carts and wagons were the predecessors of all vehicles in use today, someone got the idea of removing the horse and put a motor on the wagon. Besides, as far as finding a steam powered car today, I believe the Stanley Steamer was made until 1926. Besides the Benz is out of reach of the average man, it is not a car I'm impressed with. There are others that get better mileage, or better handling.

  • @fundreamer1

I'm not being technical, just tyring to be specific...Karl Benz, Cugnot and Verbiest are 3 of the automobile's inventors. As well as Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach, Ford, Karl Diesel, etc.

It's an evolution involving a lot of changes, and a lot of inventors....

blah blah blah.......why am I even wasting my time explaining to someone who seems to "know it all". But for someone who knows it all, I bet you haven't driven any of the latest Benzes...

  • @gce9884 Then quit wasting your time, your obviously pro-benz lol. All of the inventors you mentioned did not work on the same car, on their own, they invented a running car. The evolution took many people and time, but the first cars were great achievements.

blah blah blah..... no one wants to hear your feeble opinion anyway.

  • The ignition is set too much before TDC.

  • A push scooter would be more faster and efficient than this piece of shit

  • @psluver You stupid fucker this car is 125 years old, which is twice your IQ.

  • @505197 Don't mind about sensless people dude...let them live in the blurred ignorant reality...the poor guy obviously doesn't even know how a scooter works xD

  • @505197 This car is actually about 10 years old. It's a replica.

  • as i understand none of these actually exist anymore and this is a repro.

  • Seven miles to the gallon, and a gallon tank. :p Hard to keep it going when gas stations weren't very abundant. :p

  • terpokata pokata pokata

  • IT WOULD BE SOO COOL IF I COULD TRAVEL BACK IN TIME WIT A LAMBO ND SHOW OFF HAHA XD

  • @respect23jordans I allways wanted to do that too, because it is a mercedes, imagine driving up to mr benz in a black amg with blacked out windows, then doing a burnout in the town square lol imagine the look on peoples faces, I think you be classed as the devil!

  • benz motorwagen amg gets like 2 or 3 horsepower at the crank.

  • anyone know the first car made with a proper interior with roof?

  • Comment removed

  • Mercedes LOLBIKE

  • god thats amazing if your car made a noise like that today you would be straight to a garage with it haha

  • Lol bike

  • my mustache just got longer

  • They've really come a long way in the past 125 years!

  • This is a reproduction or the first gasoline driven car .

A french steam car went 37 MPH several years before this thing.

Suprisingly, it had a longer range then this did too.

  • @goodgigs steam isnt considered internal combustion which describes a vehicle.

  • Back when cars were still works of art. Not soulless machines...

  • @rkj4107 Very true.

  • it is missing nitro

  • hit 'n' miss engine ^^

  • @Spartan117JMC

its not a hit and miss engine.

  • too bad the vid lies.its only a model of the first car.

  • Lady Needs A Seat Belt :P

  • is it gas or steam??

  • its got low profile racing tires and everything

  • you gotta love the hit and miss engine sound

  • @UserNamei5 look i dont want to get into a big annoying youtube comment fight ,i love german cars i think they are great but the carrera gt has a v10 and the mclaren slr has less hp than the corvette zr1

  • @UserNamei5 have you ever seen a german car with a stock v8 that gets 640 hp?

  • @UserNamei5 The Ferrari 458 italia revs to 9000....

  • Send it round the Nurburgring!

  • @UserNamei5 lol not really

  • Comment removed

  • it's nice. a carriage with a small beautiful engine.

  • they released another version of it with a hemi v8

  • @skateerrocker335 I'm pretty sure a HEMI would be less reliable than this

  • whats the MPG lookin like on this bad boy?

  • You can drift with this car!

  • That looks fast.

  • This car deserves a place on the Top Gear Cool Wall - "ice cool". Nothing can beat this, because it's genesis.

  • Cool

  • Its a bike with motor, not a car.

  • Does it have vtec?

  • if this was never made the world wouldnt be coming to an end...

  • must be a pain in the ass to start it every time!

  • casi casi como el agile!! jejejej

  • There were steam powered cards used in military service in France at the end of 1700's, just wanted to let you know. Also the electric car was invented and built more than 40 years before the first one with a combustion engine. (1839 it was finally built)

  • @judgen nobody talk about a steam engine its a whole different concept or do u find a water boiler in your car...

  • I refuse to leave stupid comments like everyone else.

  • it has a bike horn on that!

  • whats is this 1 mila meter per hour?

  • Wow! Verey interesting! I can't believe they can still use it today!

  • Don't put your hand in there

  • chitty chitty bang bang....lol
