Honey, it's called "heteronormativity". The fact that gay men continuous compare themselves and what they deem to be "straight acting", is actually a subversive admission of self loathing. We can also hear people refer to other gay men as "too femme". The whole idea that masculinity needs to have a 'straight' image, is a complete denial of the polarities of sexuality that exist in all of us. This kind of thinking is what helps to splinter the gay and lgbt community.

I actually understand why a gay man wouldnt want to hang out with another gay man dressed as a girl. It's society that dictates what's considered male or female. There are societies that embrace males who dress as women, be it drag super stars, men who wear skirts, men who wear make up, etc. I don't exactly know why America seems to be so close minded, but this is one of the reasons why I'm on the fence about saying I'm "proud".
