  • great job man. I'll certainly try playing it down a 1/2 step.

  • i wish daves hands were smaller xD

  • Liked and Favorited! Great job man! You're really good and I just want to thank you for the inspiration! I'm gonna give this song a shot later today :)

  • good job!

  • killer job man!!

  • awsome awsome awsome!!!!!

  • Awesome job!!

  • You are very good man... I love this song and the sound of your Ibanez Guitar too !

  • Hi love your playing. Can you tab or even just write what notes you're playing for the fill at the end of the verse before going into the prechorus. Playing with some friends and want to play that tonight. I believe it's after" difficult is coming here" part. Thanks brother.

  • @eyeandmind figured it out.. Thanks though and keep strumming!

  • Ah. Best Dave song, ever, hands down. Sound amazing. :)

  • Love the #34 intro!

  • @toothpick664

Yeah i have a guitar channel fag. I havent posted a vid here in a while....

  • dude i love your voice for real

  • I'm as glad you found Dave Matthews as I am that I found your covers. As a 15 year votary of the band, this is one of the best accoustic versions of #41 I've ever heard, with the perfect amount of picking overlay complementing the incredible vocal range on display. I'm spending too much time going through your 'library' of dmb covers, but this is nostalgia on steroids (even though your work is all new to me, heh). Major kudos, man!

  • I like the open Em chord better for the intro.

  • Also the last chord of the chorus is played up at 7,8 and 9. Its the same chord as in two step.

  • @hflsmg17317 that's how Dave plays it, but I think it sounds better as just an open C chord

  • @twostep03 There's a million ways to play every chord and i bet there is a variation that sounds better then both of those.

  • @hflsmg17317 i bet your one of those kids who plays COD all day and just wishes he could play guitar and sing ha...twostep03 is bad ass lol

  • \|/ actually its variations of Am Bm Em and D. Play the open chords and it sounds bacically the same.

  • Would've loved to see main guitar part from about 4:26 to 5:02ish. Could you just tell me where you got the majority of what you were playing during that part? was it from dmbtabs(dot)com??

  • @TheMattwill No, what I played is not on dmbtabs(dot)com or any other tab site that I know of. I just played variations of the main chords of the song, which are Am7, Bm7, Em7, and D. Just play around with those for some cool effects

  • "not really my thing" is a complete lie. this is so good. i wanna learn that little part you put in the background during the chorus. its not on dmbtabs. way to go

  • love this song... nice!

  • like the #34 thrown in the beginning

  • Great work twostep one of my all time favorite DMB songs.

  • great work dude. It was really enjoyable. I especially liked the breakdown towards the end on top of the solo.

  • Are you playing this tuned down a half step?

  • @acousticmelodyy yea, it just makes the vocals a little easier for me

  • How long have you been playing, I just want to know how long it will take me untill I can do that!

  • @gearhart222 When I made this video, I had been playing about 2 and a half years

  • I see, I just started guitar, and I want to be able to play DMB stuff, what should I work on so I can do that stuff? haha.

  • One of my Fav. Dave songs....and you did it justice...freaking awesome dude.

  • Are you amped??

If yes, which amp are you using?

    THX

  • @trekbiker08 no, im running it through the computer

  • THX!

The intro chords are difficult for me cuz i have short fingers but what I do is instead of playing the lower trings I just play the highest three.. Not the best but it works for me! jeje

    Good covers man...

  • dude that was fantastic

  • Come on man give credit to the fellow who you got the first riff of the jam from... oh wait you left out a chord or two and added a little on, i guess its all yours now bro

  • @Hudie13 I asked Mike before I posted this if he was cool with me using part of his outro and he said it was fine. I never claimed it to be mine. Chill out Hudie

  • Just bustin your balls man.. I was playing all of Dave's stuff for a while too. Wish I could upload some things like you guys but I'm lacking things to make a decent sounding recording. What are you working with? Any suggestions?

  • WAY TO GO WITH THAT INTRO.....

  • Excellent Job! I'm starting to learn guitar and know that it's not easy to cover any song let along DMB. Many props!

  • awesome

  • Outstanding!

  • Great choice for an intro, #34 is so beautiful. RIP LeRoi... great cover

  • if you came out with a cover album i would buy it. No sarcasm. your pretty good.

  • dude ur awesome, keep it up!

  • thank you

  • hey man was this done tuned down a half step down?

  • yup

  • i thought so cuz i was playing along with ya and i was using the D scale cuz thats the key of 41 but for some reason it didnt sound good when i played but now i know why haha. i love your improv stuff at the end, great job your stuff really drives me to keep getting better

  • Excellent cover, man! I love that clean guitar sound. Do you have any tabs of this one that you can share? I'd really appreciate that. Keep on playing, congrats!

  • thank you. I use dmbtabs(dot)com. Some of the end is just messing around though, so I dont have any tabs for that

  • hey... have you written any songs? put them up... I mean... you seem pretty darn good, and I believe you will get the fullest of your potential if you sing something of your own...

  • none that are finished

  • nice

  • Great Job bro!! I think this is the best Ive seen of this cover on youtube.Did you do a tutorial on this song? I can play it,but not like you bro.Man that was awesome, Im still in amazement how well you played and sang it. Dave's shit aint the easiest to sing and play, but you nailed it.Thanks Bro! You have given me inspiration to get this damn song right.

  • great great job....see you soon with my #41 drum cover...

  • haha ok i figured it out. thats pretty sweet man.

  • hey man what are the tabs for the solo part? i cant figure it out haha

  • im not really sure either, I just kinda made it up on the spot. its pretty simple though. Most of it is done on like one string

  • that was awesome dude great outro

  • thanks a lot, im glad you liked it

  • Is than an Ibanez AEL10EBK?

  • its an ibanez AEG10E...that could be wrong, but its something close to that

  • awesome cover.. more importantly, GO WHITE SOX!!!!

  • Good job bro! Keep it up.

  • i love this vid my fave song great solo. you rock man

  • real good

  • great cover man! ur a really good guitarist and singer!

  • that is ur best cover yet.

    great job.

  • dude awesome #34 intro you should try the whole song some time.

  • ive actually never heard that outro until just now so sick... man alpine is in like 2 weeks i cannot wait... i know theres a slim chance but if i run into you were gonna jam together! oh and i just learned that outro from your video i love it

  • that outro actually came from Mike Martinez. He played it in his cover and I really liked it. If you haven't seen his yet, you should definitely check it out

  • that was such a good ending jam...#41 is my fav. dave song..nice job man

  • #34 :]

  • This is my favorite DMB song, and a quintessential listen for anyone new to the band. Bravo!

  • hey does dave play it a tuned down like you? good job

  • no, I just did that to make the high notes at the end of the 2nd verse a little easier

  • is there tabs for the beginning of the way you played it,.... CUZ ITS AWESOME

  • you mean the #34 part? or the #41 intro? either one can be found at dmbtabs(dot)com

  • you're awesome, and I have that same guitar~!

  • you did an awesome job on this cover

  • Lol I was gonna add that I was suprised that you played the C because you are the one guy on youtube who plays the most accurate dave chords. I could be wrong, but I think you are the only one I have seen who plays TBOWA correctly :)

    Good work again !

  • haha yea, that is like the one time that I think it sounds better played a different way. I'm usually pretty anal about playing the songs right though

  • learn some different licks and scale patterns to help with the guitar soloing, really, just copy LeRoi :)

great rhythm guitar under that though!

  • yea, I really know nothing about scales or anything like that. That was just something I started doing on the spot that sorta worked out in the end. Soloing really isn't my thing, but it's something I would like to learn

  • Oh...and the #34 tease....:)

    RIP Leroi.

  • I just added this video to my favorites, mark. It was really THAT good. 5 star cover of #41 for sure!!!!!

  • thanks man, it means a lot

  • Nice job! I really enjoyed to listen.

  • Another phenomenal cover

  • Nice work. Sounds awesome.

  • Really great job Mark... I can see how much you've improved in such a short while. Keep it up.

My ONLY critique is that C chord you play from "...way... and find my own way out...". It's actually that 'Dave Chord' you played at the beginning of the chorus (2 chords previous). But instead of being on the 3rd fret (the base note), its on the 8th fret. Hope I said that right :)

And nice work with Mike's riff, I still cant do that for shit lol

    Keep it up man !

  • thanks, I know I play the C chord different than Dave, but I do it on purpose. I think the full C sounds better when playing solo

  • agreed

  • Def. My favorite Dave's song.

great job!....I wish the mic didn't cover ur face so much!!

  • haha thanks, that mic is in a bad spot isnt it? i'll try to find a new set up next time

  • holy fuck man. you continue to amaze me. this is my favorite dmb song EVER and you did awesome.

  • thanks man, 2 weeks!

  • Serious strumin Marko!!!! Very Nice.

  • bravo brother

  • great job man i wish i was this good all your covers are awesome keep em comin

  • nice #34 in the beginning, great job as always brotha

  • #41 is one of my favorite DMB songs... Awesome job! You sang the high notes really well, and you played a sweet jam/solo at the end! 5 stars all the way! (At least, in my opinion...)

    Keep it up!
