  • If you would understand anything , you would have said this whole thing smiling !

  • @willdeburr "If you would understand anything..."

Grammar! --->If you understood/had understood anything...

  • If you don't like the music playing in the background, search for "Alan Watts A Conversation With Myself". This is actually part of a 3 part video.

  • 4 part actuallly...

  • @AHxPUCH thank you. The music is a distraction.

  • i agree yeah ha, if the music is enough to throw you off, apply patience and appreciation and almost anything can be tolerated and enjoyed

  • music, music, music. after these words i can think in anything but the music played here, and still half the comments are that. wow

  • sheer brilliance... and all these other alan watts vids. consciousness expanding.

  • The music is annoying

  • What is the music in this? It sounds strangely familiar, but I can't place it.

  • Music really made this :-)

  • Why is the concern with the destruction of life on earth?

  • Is he not referring to the TED talks?

  • music totaly fucked this

  • When we leave the world alone, we will fall. civilization will not only end, it will collapse. i personally do not like civilization, but that is how i communicate with others. i use it for purposes like listening to this. and if we leave it alone...we will be free, and no one wants that.

  • Alan watts is interesting, he leaves us hanging at the end though, how do we break down the false ego when all we have to break it down with is the false ego, the alternative soloution is not disclosed.

  • Spiritual practice, perhaps one that includes the experiences of samadhi and other nondual states of consciousness and of perception.

  • Life is simple so why is it that one may find it to be complicated? Could it be that one is not in harmony with the beat of life? Could it be that their is a lack of understanding, education and unity amongst us? Thanks for this vid Matt. Im becoming a massive fan of Alan Watts. I would have loved to have met with him.

  • Jean Gebser's last words were, "In the end everyting is simple." That seems like good advice. Live simply, think simply and consume simply -- end of story!

  • I'm really down with that evolutionary enlightenment stuff... you know... getting together with friends and exercising higher levels of communication as one entity: a "we".

    Great vid Matt!

  • It is difficult to find participants. I get most of my evolution lately from this screen, which is not at all ideal.

  • @jbfoyle Evolution means life's getting more diverse, more complicated, not higher or better. Unicellular organisms are fine. So-called death matter's perfectly ok too. The possibility of seeing is always a present possibility. It's wanting something better that prevents people.

  • well for me it helps to look at roots of things. and as far as I understand, Nature was associated with Mother. Hence the very ancient worldwide term 'Mother Earth'. So any mindset which tries to control 'Mother Earth' of course deeply involves fear of female sexual gender, and all its very anceint primal associations, like darkness for example

  • The only way out is to cooperate with Maitreya

  • Can I?

  • No I dont agree tyrbolo. That is to put ALL peoples in same mindset as the patriarchy, who are really the instigators of the massive mess we find ourselves UNDER.

Their propaganda IS for you to blame your very nature. hence their myths like 'the Fall' etc! So as to divide you from your self!

  • who is this "patriarchy"? it's an abstraction. i think they love it when they're called patriarchs by the way. definition by gender or ethnicity is perfect for the agenda of the ruling CLASS. it's totally by design. the maddening part is when someone well-meaning falls right into the box that was made just for them.

  • don't forget definition by religion. that's a good one too!

  • it isn't about sexual gender, persay. It is about how power is structured and wielded. It favors light over dark, right over left, and culture over nature. Male dominance is the result of a deeper archetypal source. It is not an abstraction, but as concrete a discription of reality as language allows.

  • the description is concrete, yes. the word fails. because that isn't what "patriarchy" means :) it leads to definitions of those in power which lead to separation in the working class. division by gender functions in the same way that ethnicity or religion do. it prevents the common people from joining together and finding all their many similarities, their common struggle. i didn't disagree with anything you said in your reply btw.

  • rather i meant that isn't what the word means in the popular imagination.

  • There is no "mindset to a species. the "patriarchy" is the same

primate behavior pattern you see in chimpanzees. we are not under

the mess, we are the mess. The propaganda is to avoid the blame

for our nature. If we heal ourselves nature will welcome us as a

useful part of the whole as we were meant to be.

  • are you familiar with Terence Mckenna's stoned ape theory? That the first homo sapiens broke free of the dominant male primate behavior pattern when they discovered psilocybin mushrooms and the consciousness expanding qualities they provided? He thinks that as the jungles of Africa turned into grassland, the cows we first learned how to domesticate shit and from their shit grew the shrooms. The ingestion spurred the creation everything we now know as human culture, religion, language etc.

  • The first religions spawned by the mushroom were goddess worshipping religions. Eventually, with the increasing sophistication of agriculture and social structure, certain politically minded power seeking men wanted to steal the show from nature, and so shrooms were banned and people's consciousness dropped back into the same old apish shit-throwing patterns responsible for the current global climate and military insanity.

  • Just a theory ; )

  • @redliterocket4 There is much evidence to support this theory. The world is in such a state that I would not be suprised if the global awakening comes in the form of gut-wrenching laughter at how ridiculous we got playing this game. In the meantime, may the blood of the innocent victims of this madness serve as an eternal reminder of why peace is the right way.

  • @NewPeaceOrder "global awakening"?!?!! Are you waiting for 'other people' to wake up? :)

  • @IpsaPaphum I sure am.

  • Good stuff. Sadly humans have been a moving disaster

in the eco-system for (my estimate) 27000 years.

Once we got powered machinery and antibiotics the

race against the black hand of malthusian doom

accelerated to its current pace. Philip Wylie tried

to get somebody to pay attention and was ignored too.

  • Human's have only been a disaster to themselves. Humans are as much nature's creation as anything else. If the world is destroyed by humankind then nature has destroyed itself. However, it's unlikely to come to that - human beings are more likely to destroy themselves than the planet. The planet has survived meteors, ice-ages, planetary collisions - you name it. It has survived and become as beautiful as it is today with or without human assistance.
