I was there. The background noise at the pavilion was persistent and from several sources. So I think personal micro was the best choice.
But yes; in average, I believe the English level of the audience was just the needed to understand technical sentences in known context. Including mine! XDD
The audio recording is only of the personal microphone feed -- it's always a strange way to listen to conferences/presentations because you don't get the "feel" of the audience.
