Hi Alexandr. I watched some of your HK videos and I thought I'd ask about your dps builds. A lot of the information in blogs and communities about mage dps is outdated, and I wanted to know what you consider to be the best sustained dps build overall.
In this fight you used SC-Ele, for Grugonim you use Pyro. Which is your best dps build, and do you know where I can find out about correct rotations?
Stormcaller/Elementalist is the absolutely best damage output possible for single target and area damage. There is no contest for first place but other specs like pyro/ele and necrolock compete against each other for second place.
But when you factor in boss mechanics, there are certain fights where you need to bite the bullet and choose a spec that produces less damage than stormcaller due to the necessities of the specific encounter.
@AlexanderFung0 I appreciate your reply. I do have the highest multiple target damage output of my guild with sc/ele, but because I rarely use that build for single targets, I don't have a good command of it for such fights.
Are there any good resources online, that you know of, about sc/ele rotations, and that are up-to-date? It's not easy watching a video and learning what the player is doing.
Once again, thanks and I'll keep enjoying your videos.
Go ahead and google "Rift Forum Building Storm Deadlysight" and read his entire thread, many highly skilled mages have gathered on that thread.
Bluedot is an average skilled mage that has also posted several guides Google "Bluedot guides" but I do not recommend worshipping bluedot, hes just basically copied everything in the deadly sight thread and made his own bastard version that is somewhat correct but more of a tldr version
I chose Stormcaller for this fight due to a lack of movement and available targets for aoe while I chose Pyromancer for Grugonim due to the constant movement and necessity to reapply dots/debuffs.
Pyromancer has little to no dots/debuffs thus making it very versatile for an encounter like Grugonim where the boss plays Whack A Mole with you.
Stormcaller is not as good on that fight due to Electrified stacks having to be reapplied after every third breathe.
