  • lol my ps3 broke 2 months ago i got my game out (madden 12) but i haven't got it to work again :/

  • u can get ur game back with out open ur ps3 turn all power off an the hold eject button for like 15 sec then hit power switch while holding eject

  • You only did that to get your game out, I have that problem now except I want to keep my ps3 do would it still work?

  • here yeah ilove ps3 if u could wat is ur name thats really handy to fix ur ps3 goodjob

  • guys so does this work with a blow dryer? 20 bucks amazon for heat gun but i just got a job and havent received my check. Well i spent some money on an ecig (Joy Ego-T) and a computer fan! so does this work. check out my page i play music and have a website. PEECE

  • @cosmicaler You won't get it on a slim it's mostly the old one cuz of dust and overheating

  • anyone knowing a fix that keeps the ps3 fixed forever

  • I had it since it came out it just broke and MW3 is stuck inside

  • @3dwin12 me too

  • here is a tip buy the paste put it on the cpu and gpu sell the ps3 buy slim and put harddrive in before it overheats again

  • thanks for the tip tho i will egt the screws jsut need the paste and done hope my thing helpe du to and hopeto see u on psn from mouds/psn name

  • this happened before to me and so i took it to a shopand so what he did is open up the ps3 as u did but then he put paste on the cpu and gpu spread it specaila paste then the spread then put lid back on and everything but most likely they crash like that is because either they are in a coevered place where the ps3 over heats or dust covers the fans and then the fans can not get air to the cpu and gpu which then over heats and boom carshs at a shop it takes about 140 houndred dollars or less.

  • u live in usa or canada?

  • jsut rite now broke gay

  • 3times my broke down

  • I meant or something in the below comment.

  • Hey man, I was just wondering, I got the YLOD and I think im gonna get a slim. Can I keep the saved data from my old ps3 by keeping the memory card of something. I dont wanna loose all my progress in all my games so that is why I was wondering. If you get this thanks for your time.

  • just got yellow light on ps3=[ got my mw3 stuck in it and didnt delite porn history

  • @YellowMan3r lol

  • ps3 sucks ass xbox all the way queers

  • @savior881 does it really matter?

  • @savior881 if u love xbox that much why the fuck do u watch this?

  • @mellesick well put i agree with u men

  • FUCK I'm AFRAID, I'm gonna buy a PS3 this JUNE but the YLOD is so SCARY!!

What's THE reason why YLOD happens?

  • @cosmicaler - YLOD happens from overheating. When you leave your ps3 one for LONG periods of times (a week or more), or simply from playing very often, the thermal pads and paste begin to wear out on these older versions. If you have a new PS3 Slim, you will be fine. im pretty sure Sony recommends 10 cm from the side and back fan, so do that and you will be fine. Also, you can purchase an Intercooler for a PS3 Slim, and that will help A LOT. my PS3 (fat version, 80gb) is 5 and just got YLOD.

  • I have a 18 GB PS3, and this JUST happened to me... I'm going to try to vaccum all the dust out and see if it works. If you guys know anything that could be of help.. let me know asap.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble but the 80GB PS3 is not a first gen. The first gen PS3's were the 20 and 60GB. The first gen 60GB PS3 uses hardware and software emulation for backwards compatibility with the entire PS1 and PS2 library, whereas the 80GB uses solely software emulation technology which limits the backwards compatibility list to selected PS2 titles.

  • actually used a blow torch , works great.

  • fuck it looks like hi is making tamales, jajaja heating the hole shiit you don,y need to heat all the motherboard is just the viode chip the one you want, no flux??? jajaja some people is kids i tell you!!!

  • Clean the CPU with 90% alch clean it with qtips and buy some artic silver then put it back together and ur good to go...buy a fan for the ps3

  • its because you need thermal paste, then it works again for long time

  • you could have just taken apart the ps3 and the blue ray player taken out the game put it all back together sold the ps3 on ebay and bought the slim instead of buying the heat gun that only fixed the ps3 for 3 minutes..

  • isn't a heat gun a upgraded blowdryer

  • PS3 is a beast!!!!!

  • it works yes but.... i did it four times allready. one of these days it will happen again.

than its the last time.. i'm buying a new one. ;-)

  • ill just buy a new pop in my old hard drive and call it good

  • i hope he knew that all you have to do is hold the eject button n the yellow light will show and turn off the main power then flick the switch back on whill you are still holding the eject button and keep holding it while the ps3 makes a loud noise dont worry its just the system an d the fan working harder to get this disk out try it it works

  • that looks like so much effort just to get a game out and i got to do tht thats a bummer i hate yellow light of death bloody tecnolgy

  • Actually games are not trapped inside you should turn off from switch and when pressing the eject button at the same time open the switch keep pressing eject button for 3-5 seconds then ps3 step in the Fan cooler's clean-up mode then it ejects the stuck bluray

  • you didnt change the thermal compound

  • Dud to get your disk off of a dead ps3 is to turn it off from the back and holding you finger on the disk eject button and toring it back on. That way the ps3s fan will go fast and ejecting your disk

  • Where he placed the motherboard is not a good idea. The motherboard was moving a bit everytime he used the heatgun around it.. Make sure the motherboard does not move as you heat it so placed it a place where it wont move. Once you are done you let it cooldown for 20mins or more and add thermal paste enough for the cpu and gpu to touch/contact the heatsinks.

  • Hair dryer to the vents works tempory mine lasted a week after probs best repasting the gpu for long term

  • Dude i put my ps3 in its box and got a hair blower on heat and heated both vents and let it cool. so after that i put my dragon ball raging blast 2 on went to the main menu went to galaxy mode chose a z fighter match started and i layed a few hits on the oponent and then it went off on me.

  • Just send it to gophermods

  • you can also put your motherboard in the oven at a temperature of 220 degrees celsius.. for about 10 minutes, as far as I'm concerned you'd have to let it cool for about a night and put all the stuff back in your ps3 and that should actually fix your ps3

  • @valie9995

DO NOT PUT YOUR PS3 in the OVEN. IT WILL DESTROY IT. Use a Heat Gun instead...

  • Ok it doesn't fix the ylod but i gots your disk out and is way more simple, flip the power switch in the back then turn your sytem sideways, then hold the eject botten then flip the power switch it should make the fans blow really hard and the disk comes out.

  • hey u didnt have to go throught all of that just to get ur game out u just open the top to where u can see the disk compartment and take ur game out by getting in to it plus if u did a couple more things well u had it teken apart u would not have to go get it fixed u just have to heat the cpu and the tpu extra and then u this thermal stuff on the tpu and the cpu and spread out a thin coat of it and do not tuch panel for 15 min and put it back together than u have the yellow light of deth fixed

  • Do you have it on when it was lightning?

  • These fix cant guaranteed ur work trying , ive already tried as many fails to be working fine.

  • ie had my ps3 for 3 years now and i got the yellow light of eath :,( and now i cant play of blackops so i hope this works

  • so is this problem fixed with PS3 Slim as well?

  • i have it 3 times!!!!!!!!

  • steriods much ??

  • The rrod happens alot more than the ylod

  • it actually work for a few hours n thn my ps3 just shut down n it wont turn on

  • All that crap just to game the game out?

  • This is both a playstation owners nightmare to watch and an xbox owners dream...

  • @h4tchetman i have both

  • i had my ps3 for a year and got YLOD and my mum brought me lots of stuff for my ps3 at christmas so im just gunna move over to xbox :)

  • @mrFuzee Remember that the Xbox 360's lifespan is shorter than the PS3's.

  • @fawfulhaschortles it depends cuzz iv seen this video and they sed always keep it on a shelf

  • @mrFuzee Which version of the PS3 you have?

  • @fawfulhaschortles i had 60GB but me is on xbox with a 120GB (:

  • @fawfulhaschortles really cuz ive had my 360 ever since high school, and it works fine, but my ps3 isnt a year old and its failed

  • @bretthicksomega The usual cause of the Yellow Light of Death is using your PS3 too much.

  • @fawfulhaschortles I only ever used my PS3 for browsing the net briefly but it still broke. I got two years out of it! My PS3 couldn't have broken been from using it too much!. I play games on the 360 and simply browse with the PS3. They must be made from shit materials!

  • @Ecurrie84 Also the tobacco from smoking, smoke and dust can cause the YLOD.

  • @fawfulhaschortles That could well have been the cause of mine to break down because although I didn't use it much a whole load of weed smoke surrounded it for quite a while!

    Thanks.

  • @Ecurrie84 You're welcome.

  • @fawfulhaschortles are u kidding me!!! uuugh!!! i hate my dad!!! "DAAAD! you basterd!!! i know why my PS3 broke, and its ur fault!!! if you smoke another cigg, im gonna shuv it up ur ass!!!" ...

  • @heeldroe looool

  • @fawfulhaschortles yeah. i used to smoke cigs in my room and (mmj). I moved and had to move my computer to another house because i got kicked out of my old house. Well one day I was at my aunts from moving in to her house. checking my gmail and i smeel burnt plastic. Hey are you cooking in here? No. Me: It smells like burnt plastic! My motherboard caught on fire. every time i reset and booted poof again. All stock models suck as*! build your onw. got a new mobo and got a fan!

  • @bretthicksomega go to vegas because you are lucky with that 360. Dont even try to deny that the old xbox didn't get rrod alot, %34 is alot.

  • @dyjendo262 not to prove your point but the fail rate of the 360 is over 50%, and im obviously not lucky cuz my ps3 didnt last a year...i got it for my 20th bday, and now, a few months for now, im gonna get another one for my 21st.....

  • @bretthicksomega if you agree that the 360 has an EXTEMELY high failure rate than what is your point? I didn't get the 360 because of the rrod, but now that the slim solved that problem, i'm getting one for my birthday and I am pumped. I can't wait to get it because i am getting console gaming withdraw syndrome after my ps3 went YLOD for the third time, litterally a week after the warranty expired, I am pretty pissed off. Anyway, can't wait for the xbox, and hopefully i can get a new ps3 soon.

  • @dyjendo262 lol dude really, the ps3 was A SLIM, im not making a point just a bit pissed that the 360 has lasted years, and the ps3 didnt last a year

  • mine did that so many times the thing that finally worked was putting a blow dryer and moving it back and forth in the back of the ps3 in a bod put the ps3 in a box u dont even have to open it and just wave the blow dryer back and forth on the back vents for 15 min then let it cool down it may take a while for it to cool down but then plug it in and there you go it works.

  • if you added new thermal compound it would have worked but good try :)

  • haha, got my ylod at 4 am today..i just shredded my ps3 for my game and went and bought a new slim 320gig

  • can the ps3 slim still get the YLOD ??

  • @jaybye11 yes it can

  • i got my ps3 the day it came out the day everyone was waiting in line i got mine and it just blew up today ..

i am going to try ur vid thank you very much i will comment if it works for me thank you

  • can you put the harddrive of a fat ps3 into a ps3 slim?

  • Verry good work. ....Umm I have a qeustion for ya how much is a used ps3 slim?

  • just happened:( wondering how long does this fix last because i came across some people saying that it's only a temporary fix.

    Also...

    GO CAL!!!!!!!!

  • @jam0n1t It lasted me 2 months, then it was completely fried. so fix it and exchange it

  • Comment removed

  • u suck man... seriously... your video dont help at all so take this s#!t off...

  • mine just died.

  • Damm had my 60 gb since launch i just finished a match of BC2 them boom yellow light of death. My Bc2 is stuck in thier also. I will try this out if doesn't work i will dig a grave for my precious little 60gb and send away with tears and mabey it will be in hell when i get their.lol Seriously though i got my moneys worth out of my system for sure no complaints from me.

  • @sawdoff1100 had mine for like four years bluray just went out last week fixed it yesterday now systems shut off twice on me not gonna turn it on again just gonna let it sit buy a new one trasfer all my data and trash it but ya deffinetly got my moneys worth had 3 xbox360s in the time of one ps3

  • SAVE YOURSELF THE $20 put the board with the cooler removed in the oven at 200c for 7 min than let it cool out side not in the rain guys lol

  • if you keep the new ps3 on stand buy will it get the YLOD just want to know because i am getting one today and it will suck when i come home and it broke

  • @XTHATGAMERX got my 60gb the day ps3 was released it just crashed today so i would say no it wont crash for being on standby. but clean your system regularly and it will last trust me.

  • @sawdoff1100 thanks

  • just hold the ps3 button for a munite and ur disk comes out i just tried it

  • I HEARD ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT BLACK OPS BREAKING THEIR PS3S.... BLACK OPS DOESNT BREAK PS3S ITS THE PLAYER WHO BREAKS PS3S. ADDICTS PLAY TOO LONG SO IT OVERHEATS DUHHHH

  • FUCK sony may i say for making us pay for their problems..

  • Hm, It's funny that you didn't wipe the old thermal paste off the "heatsink" and put newer higher quality paste on. I used an old credit card to wipe and spread making sure i didnt get it on the board. The heat gun seems like a quick fix, and not the 100% way to solve the problem. I had the same issue on my computer when the CPU fan crapped out.

  • lol hes cradling like its his baby lmao

  • they give you your game back if you send it in

  • i have copied the actions on this video and it worked but i cannot get any internet connection anyone know why?

  • What the fuck is on your elbow?!

  • I fixed mine with my daughters hairdryer. I disasembled it, reapplied the Arctic Silver Thermal Paste (Radio Shack), put it back together. After that, it put the PS3 upside down and turned on the hairdryer to high and slowly waving it back and forth in the back for 15 minutes. Let it cool down, plugged it in, turned it on, and now Im doing everything that it does.

  • I have had my PS3 for 4 years now with not 1 problem, until today. I got the yellow light of death and i have a 5 year warranty but cant find my receipt. Idk what to do!

  • Nice dude,,, congrats!!!!

  • I bothered with the replacement and I can tell you that Sony suck serious fucking balls when it comes to replacing things. I've had 5 psps and 3 Ps3s. Only 1 PSP and 1 Ps3 have actually broken in my care, the reason I've had so many is because Sony will replace broken stuff with more broken stuff.

  • 6:48-6:53 thats wut she said

  • whuts tht? lulz

  • Is the fix permeant

  • @Sn1pElR no it will only last for a month or 2

  • If da disk wuz stuck then just hold the eject before u flip the switch in the back

  • Battlefield?! xD you love your game like me

  • @quanshaun thats not the ylod, though that sounds like it has something to do with the bluray. my ps3 did that and it it turned out to be the bluray, which i got fixed and it worked..though now it got the ylod >.< ha

  • you did not ad thermal paste on the gpu or cpu

  • oh man you did it wrong, you never move the board after a reflow, this can work if done correctly, and you heated the enitre board? that is not nessary you only heat the processores and the surronding areas, I have done alot of reflows and never like that, and all my reflows last longer then the original system. It can work guys, this is what sony does they dont give you a new mother board, most mother boards are no longer made they have to reflow your board their is no other way

  • @MadSativa hello! my friend i just have a question i saw your comment saying you have done a lot of reflows and i want it to know what about i i want to change my fan because it does work do i have to do the same pethod back again since your moving the cover were the thermal paste is or just go stray to the fan and putting back together

  • @rey746 Hi, I have never replaced just the fans , but I have been in theri and the fan can be taken off with out the thermal paste, hope you get it fixed. you just dont take the board covers offand just take the fan off. I am not 100% positive since I have never done it my self, but I think the fan did come off without the dissasembly of the thermal paste

  • @MadSativa hello! my friend i just have a question i saw your comment saying you have done a lot of reflows and i want it to know what about i i want to change my fan because it does not work do i have to do the same pethod back again since your moving the cover were the thermal paste is or just go stray to the fan and putting back together

  • Is the triple beep a signal that it might get the yellow light of death?????? Please answer. Cus thats whats happening to mine, though it works perfectly. Please answer.

  • the ps3 was shot anyway, and i was under the impression that the ylod has to do with lose or corroded power supply wires and y invest in a heat gun just to pull the game out.... you could just have opened up the bluray drive... all in all good video just because bfbc2 was inn there

  • You're not supposed to pick the board up and move it around while it's hot, that could have fucked it up for good.

  • can someone help me.. i think i have ylod but it lets me go online and play my game 4 about 5 mins den it shuts off. is this the same as that?

  • this can only make it worse man, theres an other way to fix it, a safer way >,<

  • i bought it a week after it first came out, nd I just got the light today

  • @ChanoGonzo well when u buy it it comes with a one year warranty

  • hey my name is paul 2 :D

  • PLEASE HELP, I FOLLOWED ALL STEPS AND MY PS3 WONT POWER ONE (NOT EVEN A LIGHT). WHAT DID I POSSIBLY DO WRONG AND WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE HELP.

  • @Shakcountant you must have not connected the powersupply correctly

  • i have mine for about 5 yaers or 2 years i dont remember that well but i dont have the ylod yet

  • @MultiMadman24 its coming dude..YLOD vids on YT are cursed! i never had a problem with my PS3 until i saw these vids..i got YLOD now and i never ever had a problem with my PS3 :'(

  • @MultiMadman24 rofl 5 years or 2 years?? u got a brain damage or sumthing?

  • @MultiMadman24 is it an 80 GIG?

  • @MultiMadman24 2 to 5 is a big difference

  • if your disk gets stuck do the fantest

  • @triPod791 Fuck My Life Or Fucked My Life.

  • you shouldnt move the motheboard after uve heated it.

  • same thing happened to me but i just cracked the driver open

  • i didnt get it did he fix the ps3 or it was fixed for a minute or 2 just to get the game out.

  • or.... GET E FU***** COMPUTER XP

  • Oh and btw i opened the blueray player to get my disc.

  • the first gen was 60 gb (i got ylod so i got a slim.)

  • the first gen was 60 gb, i got ylod so i got a slim.

  • you know that you could have just flipped the power button in the back to the off position and then put your finger on the eject button then flip the power switch on in the back and wait for the disc to pop out... The fan will run fast, but that isn't gonna hurt it in order to get your disc out... You should have done more research on reflowing... too quick and not in the right spots... by the way... the Sony reps are right... it is a temporary fix... 3 months tops on my reflow jobs...

  • hey i just have a question so let say that this dude really did fix his ps3 how long does this last tree months or it is permanent

  • yaaa that happend to me like a week ago, medal of honor (limited edition)

  • i can fix it for 6 days and you dont hav to open it + its redoable txt me if u wan 2 know

  • what i was thinking was to take the hard drive (the memory thing) but another ps3 replce the HD and put it with the old ps3 unfortunately it had used a "special" screw

  • you did all the dirty work/ hard work but you forgot 1 major thing . you had to clean that white looking chip inside and replace . that is the major step

  • fuck me..... Black ops stuck in the fucking PS3.... fml. I was 1st prestige aswell.... FOR FUCK SAKE!

  • I freaking god black ops stuck in my slim and nobody has a tutorial.

  • @suitable76 call sony they tel you how to get it out

  • just open the blueray drive and putt the disk out or use a pain of plyer with cloth and pull the game out donut wast time

  • no one cares if your a former host of gamespot

  • you forgot about the emergency eject method :)

all power off, finger on the eject button and turn the power on, the ps3 still start up for 30 seconds and your game will eject ..

  • if you were close where i live. i would help you. fix it like it suppose to be fix.
