  • watch the Dave Villa parody!

  • I love this old house. Even from the beginning it was great to see all of the detail of the homes.

  • Bob Vila was soooo condescending and dismissing to the trades.

  • do you have the rest of this episode uploaded?

  • bob Vila was not the most knowledgeable, but he was a good host, and knew the right questions to ask. When I was a kid watching This Old House, he would ask the questions that I was thinking, and I was able to gain a pretty good knowledge of home improvement/renovations at a very young age. I for one am very appreciative. I would have hoped that someday he would come back to the show.

  • Dave Vila rulz

  • One dislike, who's that asshole?!?!

  • Fuck you, Bob Vila. Tim the Tool Man Taylor forever!

  • WHAT HAPPEN

  • Home Again was wayyy better.

  • Do you have any of the episodes where Bob gets in the way and pisses the contractors off? I loved when that happened, it was like every other episode where he would get in the way and wreck something. LOL

  • @Nettikturbo i though i was the only one that had the same thought. i could never stand him.

  • I can't believe I thought Bob Villa was a good guy back in that time. He seemed to be real but later I found he was, well - not so much. At least he was believeable then. - - Later on I figured out that it was the subject matter and the producer that gave him his charm back then.

  • @specialks1953 what are you talking about? Is Bob Villa a douche or something?

  • @queekers - Pretty much so. From what I have found a long time after This Old House he is more about himself rather than the do it yourselfer and the art of remodeling. From what I learned he found a good way to make a living off of selling stuff. He seems to know best methods of doing things but was mostly just about promoting what he was told to promote. I'm sure he knew something about how to remodel but I think he was more about selling stuff to do it yourselfers than really informing them.

  • Justin Bieber

  • Bob Villa= phoney.

  • Would love to see the rest of the episode!

  • 3:40 Does any of this equiptment still work ?

No Bob, I like to leave it sitting around broken. I just send the shutters to another shop where the equiptment works !

  • lol lake winnipesaukee. what about Bob?

  • @Chenoholic88 ~ No, it became on online-company in 2006.

  • @sygo7g

Yeah but how about that WGBH ad? I love it! hehehe

  • Where the fuck is the rest?

I love the WGBH ad with its funky music only to be followed up by a healthy dose of that Jazzish sounding clarinet. I used to watch this shit on the weekend with my pops, good times.

  • Well, not really. It's now on an online store.

  • do you have the other parts of this old house episode

  • its ok Im glad you putt all of these this old house episodes with bob vila thats when the show even use to be good and the new this old house shows dont play this theme song anymore thanks if you have any from the ealry 80s or 1979 please let me know thanks so much again

  • Why did WGBH have to shorten their ID

  • @cubsrule2040

Yeah but the music is pretty sexy.

  • Bob Vila left "This Old House" in 1988, his last episodes to air during the early part of 1989. After TOH, he went on to host his own show, "Bob Vila's Home Again." During that time, he also became the spokesman for Sears.
