  • Good thing is, if you're driving a Toyota/Lexus and you start experiencing unintended acceleration when accelerating from a stop, you'll have time to pull out your smartphone and watch this video before you hit the speed limit :)

  • TAKE THE FUKIN BUS!

  • Jesus Christ, americans will make rocket science out of everything, even stoping cars.

  • I didnt seem to happen anywhere other than the US. US made cars....or US made morons.

  • Anyone that does not know all of this as a matter of instinct should not be driving in the first place.

  • "oh my god my car is out of control!! I KNOW! I SHOULD CHEW BUBBLE GUM!"

  • @Asstasticplastic2 THAT'S NOT FUNNY!!!! >:(

  • @b67717 i know i'm trying to say that it's ridiculous that they think you're going to think to chew some gum to hold the button down... just saying

  • id fuck you hard with my didck u slutty milf tastic bitch

  • Cool movie, they just gotta show it to the dead people

  • MILF!!!!

  • The shifting is electronically controlled, you can move the knob, but it still will not shift.

  • I'm glad that I'm driving a Camry instead of the rpius becaue I can stop the car by turning the key instead of the stop start button.

  • why is she using both feet to brake lol?

  • Comment removed

  • you cant shift into park when the car is moving. or at least in the older auto's iv driven

  • hang on... that gear stick isnt even FROM the prius :I

  • @jazzscherzo news flash. Toyota's are american made.

  • The thing that no one realized is that Toyota like many Asian automakers does not perform these kind of quality/safety tests that other automakers are held to. If this was GM or Ford people would be flipping and starting up lawsuits all around the world. Taking the engineer look on this problem, any domestic car must have the breaking power to stop when the accelerator is fully pressed and do this within 25% of the original breaking distance. Gotta love how Toyota is 'such' a more reliable car!

  • @ohiostatechicago ironically i am a full GM and ASE certified technician at a local dealership. i drive a 07 corolla, and i havent had a single problem with it. what ppl dont realize is that GM has a new safety recall EVERY week. the chevy cruze has about 6-8 recalls on it now, one is even for the steering "I" shaft prone to snapping in half, meaning you wont have any steering while dirving... reliable huh? CNN wont tell you that tho. i will not buy a GM product and i would no recommend them.

  • OMG i wonder how much money the GM spent on this campaign LMAO

  • You can stop a runaway Toyota by learning to drive!

  • im sorry i cant get over how dumb this video is

  • @jazzscherzo Funny you say that, most Toyotas that are sold in America are made in America.

  • yeah but the brakes are shit without power

  • Everyone says, buy american buy american, i'm imagining the major issue people are having with buying american are the past american cars weren't so great.

For example, the Dodge Stratus with the 2.7 liter motor, the Oldsmobile aurora, Chrysler Sebring, look how many 90's era American cars you see that are 4 cylinders, yeah, good luck with that.

Those are just some of the cars, I am sure there are a few more.

I bought my toyota from an american, so my cash goes to the USA, there ya go.

  • YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES. MY AMERICAN CAR HAS NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. ITS GOT A CABLE, NOT SOME SHITTY COMPUTER. MY AMERICAN MADE CAR DOES NOT PUT MY LIFE AT RISK AND IT HELPS KEEP THE ECONOMY AFLOAT WHILE YOU TOYOTA OWNERS TRY AND MURDER IT. BUY AMERICAN. SUPPORT YOUR COUNTRY!!!!!!

  • @chorstma44 what year is it?

  • How about just not buying the defective toyota product in the first place, the only reason they say not to pump the brakes is because they know the engine will be reving out of control due to toyotas defect and there will be no vacume assist, normally pumping the brakes can actually be a benefit, btw not pumping the brakes was advise from toyota because they know about thier defect. FACT -JAPS DONT LIKE TO ADMIT MISTAKES, i.e. fukushima reactor leak? no problem, its just a stuck floormat, NOT!

  • @meattube4u33 it has abs so pumping wont help

  • @outdoorsman310 Pumping would not hamper stopping either if the engine wasnt bouncing off the rev limiter like they often do in toyota's sudden unintended acceleration cases. You can watch the video - camry backs over cop car and hear what Im talking about, the driver explained to the cop that the toyota was out of control but got a ticket anyway, then when shifting past reverse it took off and crashed into the cop car, you can hear the engine rev and the cop yell turn it off but the driver cant

  • If your pedal sticks and doesn't return to its original position when you take your foot of it, get a proper car and stop buying crap ^^

  • Why do they have a video if there is not problem!! I gues TOYOTA Lied and there is a problem!!

Good luck for all you dummys buying a Toyota!! You have no clue how a real car is made and how they make there cars. I worked in there plant for 2 years and they SUCK!!

  • i tested this out with my car a 2002 ford explorer v8 i went onto a back road and got to a steady cruising 60 and whle still having my foot on the gas i slammed on my brake my brakes canceled out the cars acceleration and i came to a stop slowly.

  • BOO. AUTO DRIVERS ARE FAGS.

  • @09204418448

    Conclusion: Toyota drivers are awful

  • @Allante715 NOT.

  • Fact: No electronics issues in throttle system (NASA testing).

Fact: Majority of runaway vehicles cause by driver pushing wrong pedal (seriously)

Fact: Floormats have caused sticking pedals.

Fact: If the sticking pedal kills you, sorry, you are a fucking moron.

Fact: If you don't believe me, you need to look for toyota recall in google news. Many of you will feel dumb after reading the recent stories, and rightly so.

  • @fookfocketyfookfook Yeah, like the recent story in the New York Times... Oh wait, that was about Toyota not caring that old Prii experience unintended acceleration all the time.

  • Accually shifting into neutral will make the engine rev and the car will stop if you have your foot on the brake. However on most automatics If you shift into park while the vehicle is in motion it will not stop, the best way is to shift to neutral and apply the brakes with great pressure. That will stop the car

  • There is a video "rescue 911" where the boy's mother fell asleep because of her medication. The boy put the car in park and when the car slowed somewhat, it locked the wheels up.

  • @bravecat100 ok, but almost all automatic cars will bypass park and keep moving in the car is in motion, Its supposed to be a safety feature

  • @bravecat100 psychoboy95 is right, all current automatic cars will not stop in park. It is a safety feature. Imagine going down the highway at say 70 and you accidentally hit the shifter to park, don't know how you would, but imagine. Tires lock, you lose control. You are supposed to apply the brakes, there is nothing more to it. If you keep up with your brake maintenance the brakes will even overpower the engine if the gas is stuck.

  • I believe even if u transition to neutral , car ignores it and continues accelerating regardless of the effort.

  • I wonder why they did not ask me to do the video, I am the originator after all.

  • Lesson here.. If your not smarter than your borderline average 16 year old teenager, and you don't posses the knowledge stop your vehicle, ride the bus. Its that simple!

  • idiots

  • i kinda wanna bang this old chick.

  • I wonder if the transmission on that lexus was made so that you couldn't switch into neutral. I like a good automatic transmission as you have more precision accelerating and two hands for steering at all times but you can't beat the reliability of a manual transmission.

  • Gee, pretty pathetic that customers need to worry about this.

  • kingzlister. they dont have automatic transmission vehicles where you are? just because they offer it does not mean everybody wants it.

if you buy a car that has defects, take it to the shop and stop complaining. its not as serious as everybody is making it seem. toyota is only making such a huge deal out of it because they have to. if there is somebody saying your cars are unsafe, then you have to go to HUGE lengths to make everybody sure that your cares are safe.

  • @korvisus cars in the UK are like 70% manual 30%auto ish, but auto is usually for the old or handicapped, its kinda seen as taking the fun out of driving.

  • kk this might help me

  • my goodness is it a mars landing hahaha huhuhu hehehehe

  • is it me or did the typing noise make you pissed too?

  • @LSDRecords Make the typing stop!!

  • warning this video is only for stupid city slickers

  • ahhaha this movie is great. These are all very common things that they teach you in drivers ed!! the whole runaway toyota thing was disprove anyway. the guy with the runaway prius, his car computer was checked and showed little braking effort. basically the guy didnt hit the brakes. also, I believe toyota's have the system where when you press on the gas and brake at the same time, the engine returned to idle speed.

  • there should be some emergency situation training added to passing a driver's test - because people on the road are really sad ... who's with me?

  • @mazinais31 The DMV line will be longer, (today, it wraps around the building) cost more, more paper work, more uninteresting state workers, more time. Almost 90% of us already know what to do in an emergency. People should reward good drivers like me... I could use the tax cut.

  • just for the record, if you CRASH into someone, you have ALREADY lost CONTROL. If I buy one of thease I am to asume to handle this speed glich? this isn't a crash to desk top expected sooner or later on a computer. This is a vehicle, on the road, with other lives. How about stop the High tech trust your life in the car computer and return the normal control back to the driver via throttle cable? I pass.........

  • its really sad that people dont know what to do if your gas pedal sticks.

  • The car in front is a Toyota and it will not stop!

  • that's what a standard prius owner needs...

  • if a person know drifting he could drift a stuck accelerator pedal car to a stop lol

  • Best way to get out of the mes, just don't but a Toyota

  • a 76hp car has a sport mode! thats why people are buying it i get it now. n for neutral r for race.

  • toyota, 'moving forward'

  • Bell bottoms are not in. Even in the 70s they were stupid.

  • You can see that at 0:43 you have to shift to D before you get to N. The printing is mislabeled but the physical groove visibly isn't. It's probably a bad Toyota standard by now.

  • lol priuses have have a sport mode?

  • why do you have to shift out of sport mode to shift into N? Is there no N in sportmode?

  • ......OR don't buy an american car..

  • @JiZz2Xtreme toyota is american?

  • @JiZz2Xtreme Sorry dude but Toyota is not American!

  • This video is awsome, I can't stop laughing. Like how fucking retarded are people not to figure this out? America, facepalm.

  • Buy a German Car, then you dont need this crapshitvideo!

  • @vetdoc35

ah, a sh|t-filled German car like Volkswagon or Volvo??

    FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!

  • @Soundscapest

Yes Volvo is a real real german Car....ahahahaha.... did you ever had a Car???

I drive a Mercedes SL55 AMG and this is the best Car in the World!

  • @vetdoc35 disagre

  • There is no need for that maze of a shifter.. fat lazy yanks need to learn how to drive a manual.... neutral is ALWAYS 1 movement away. this problem is then gone!

  • @kingzlister i hate to burst your bubble but im a "yank" as you put it and i only drive standards and its not always a matter of people being lazy, i dont think shifting takes any more exerting effort than using an automatic but sometimes vehicle design only lets the car use an automatic transmission or people with medical issues such as an amputated foot make it so they cant shift so stop acting like this countries full of fat retards who are incapable of logic and just do what you feel like.

  • @reap62 by "lazy" i meant, the unwillingness to learn to use a manual gearbox, sure if you NEED an auto im fine with that. ANY car can take a manual gearbox as the are smaller and lighter than auto's so dont give me that bullshit

, and in america 60% of "average joes" as we say, are overweight and underachieving. FACT. u aint busting no bubble man... your just ranting coz your an overly patriotic dumbass. :)

  • @kingzlister Your right that a manual trans is superior. But what the hell does that have to do with being a "yank" or "fat and lazy" I'm a yank, very patriotic about it, and I am actually underweight. Your fact is actually false... News is a bad source.

Every car I have ever driven has been an automatic with neutral only one movement away from drive. Its not just manuals you dumb ass. I think we "yanks" just have to stop buying foreign crap. All the cars I have driven are American.

  • @mattg889 AS FOR YOU! you know what, i cant be arsed.... wallow in patriotic bubble of ignorance, im not going to educate you...

  • @kingzlister Haha, pathetic.

  • @kingzlister Yep! Manual transmission is superior (in almost every way) to any other transmission type. It's the most durable It's the easiest to maintain It gives the driver total control of the car It enables more precise manuevers It makes the car go faster It saves fuel It is cheaper to buy Most important, it comes with "the magic 3rd pedal" that every other transmission lacks On the other hand: It is harder to learn, but after that it becomes natural as walking It shifts slower than DCTs
  • @voskakism Well done for having an ounce of grey matter, glad someone thinks before they type...

  • @kingzlister Seriously what is with people bashing Americans? It isn't like people in other countries don't have stupid drivers. I guess it is just politically correct to attack Americans.

  • @kingzlister I drive nothing but fucking manual transmission cars, automatics annoy me and I agree the pathetic little bastards need to learn how to fucking drive a stick shift, but I guess thats what you get in a retarded ass country ran over by lazy ADHD ridden city boys texting on there damn phone 24/7. Think though if you gave one of them punks a Stick shift they'd be Trying to text, Fiddle fuck with the radio, drive, and SHIFT at the same time, adding just that much more danger to people

  • @kingzlister yea

  • wow wack. been know this but i guess USA still learning about how to stop ah car .lol

  • After you shift into N for Neutral, you should shift into R for Racing! Just kidding of course. Great simple video for those idiots that don't know the basics of driving. It's actually quite sad to see all the hopeless people out there that don't really take enough concern with all the cool technology put into cars and expect their cars to work like a hairdryer (turn it on/off).

  • The liar with a runaway Pruis should be in jail now. This is a funny video. Many people believe car brakes, which make over 3000hp, will not over come the 80hp Prius. or the 1982 Audi brake nightmare. Brakes are vastly more powerful than engines. That's why a "Dyno" measures "Brake H.P."! go figure. My 1959 Corvette w/ 500+ hp stuck wide open in 2nd gear. I just put on the brakes! really, the engine never had a chance. I had to turn off the ignition and it backfired, exploding the mufflers

  • oon aina ihmetellyt miks automaattivaihteisis paskois (melken kaikissa) on levee jarrupoljin, no siks et sitä painetaan kahdella jalalla

  • just make a normal car u fcukgin retarded fuckers..

  • that dont work dumb bitch.....so fucking stupid...its so easy to say when ur not in the car gettin ready to die....a state highway patrol man died going 120 into an intersection...u dont think he tried that shit....lol....cover your ass toyota...and why does the car mess up in the first place...they try to make it sound like its the persons fault...dubm fucking retards..

  • @TheDonTheSon dude i fully agree with what your saying. its like a cop that teaches evasive driving is not going to know this shit

  • god dammit is she fucking retarded

  • annoying.

  • I got a laptop on my dash with this vid so in case my car runs away I can watch the instructions on how to stop.

  • maybe the USA should stop importing the shitty ass chink cars and then we wouldnt have to deal with this bullshit. WHITE POWER!!!!

  • @BORATMAKEMOVIE

Uh you are aware that Toyota has manufacturing plants in the USA that employs thousands of Americans who build cars for Americans. Yes Toyota was originally a Japanese company but it is now a global one. I'm in New Zealand and I drive a Camry that was completely built in Australia, not Japan.

  • @outdriving08 that was actually my friend who put that on there. i really dont care bout toyota but im truely a mopar fan thats like dodge jeep chrysler. u have to admit that this comercial is kinda sad tho that they had to make something like this cause people panic and dont know how to react when the throttle is stuck on something. the first thing i would do is go for the ignition. lol

  • @BORATMAKEMOVIE

Agreed. And the funny thing is that an old cable operated throttle is perhaps more likely to stick over the life of the car so it's not like this is a new thing!!! Personally I like Camrys, but I also drive a Holden (Australian division of GM) for work and I likle that too!!!

  • Morron if you built quality cars stupid fuck, you would not need Asian cars. Chinks do not sell cars to the United States or Europe or Canada as they are banned and are unsafe and theres no quality to them funny how GM goes bankrupts and Chrysler twice funny how Asian cars do well and they never went bankrupts ever or asked for bail out money take your white power and shove it up your ass! your a fucking PUSSY hope someone beats the fuck out of u I have 2 American cars total Garbage

  • @MrWildECoyote u sound like the fucking moron here. u spelled so many words wrong. the reason asian cars dont go bankrupt is because all they do is advertise and make their cars as cheap as possible and sell them cheaply so people buy them. America's cars are built with quality so they cost more. its the morons like u that make american cars sound like garbage.

  • My car is built without power steering or anything besides brakes

  • like if women knew something about it

  • OMG TOYOTA WILL KILL US ALL

  • Sorry, but if you don't listen to safety instructions and you neglect their advice to shift into neutral, you almost deserve to die for not listening.

  • @banstaman What if you shift your toyota into neutral but it keeps going? what then? watch the video of the chp officer who dies in his lexus and listen to the 911 call, shifting to neutral did nothing, 4 people died in that car and you can dam well bet they did all the common sense things but to no avail.

  • Yes very strange gearbox, I believe the "nuetral lockout" is a myth too. I mean your car is moving out of control. Most people are panicking, and trying to shift something that looks similar to a maze, is gonna be a little difficult.

  • "That's N for Neutral."

Thanks, Toyota! We're not stupid, it's just that your customers don't like it that the vehicles that they paid for are now going out of control. You accept a certain amount of risk while operating a motor vehicle (drunk drivers, collisions, other drivers, tire failure, etc.), but you don't expect your own vehicle to lost the ability to stop when the brakes are applied due to "sticking" gas pedals or computer problems.

  • @umsvenska The fact that there are dead people that were to stupid to put it in "N" (That's neutral by the way) goes to show that just maybe they DO need to explain it like that.

  • Omg... press N for neutral...ee.. 4 the people who dosnt know that, they shuld not drive.

  • just shut the fucking thing off u stupid fucks..im telling u this world is full of absolute fucking idiots ...

  • @kylecorreia Hahahah agreed.

  • this automatic gearbox tranny shit is too complicated omg i dont know what to do ......

thats why i drive a manual "stickshift" and is a 6 speed baby hahahahahaha

  • thats N for fuckin retard, and D for Death and R for RACE lol

  • this is soooo dumb, i mean ur text not the actual video.

  • And btw If it still won't stop....well let's just say your screwed

  • @hibylittle8 if that happend you will have to learn how to be a stunt driver and jump out lol it will work theres no way in hell neutral and shutting engine off wont work

  • If you find you cannot afford your lease anymore simply put your foot firmly on the accelerator and the other foot slightly on the brake pedal just enough to activate brake lights and to rub brake pads to start smelling take vehicle up to a nice speed on open road and call police...

Stick to story and then wait two weeks for canceled lease.

  • umm this is a contradicting vid the correct way is on consumer reports vid on how to stop a runnaway vehicle please check it out this in fo here is help less is some way's

  • @biggdaddy2001 what the consumer reports didn't tell you (that this vid did) is what to do when you can't shift to neutral, can't cut the engine or when there's no brake assist. They won't tell you because they don't want a lawsuit.

  • The truth is, the control systems are FAULTY. Regardless of actual gas pedal position, the PCM commands full engine power.

Most cars have vacuum assist braking, with the vacuum supply coming from the engine intake manifold. If you frantically pump the brake pedal and deplete the reserve vacuum, you won't have any power assist left because at full throttle, manifold vacuum is almost nothing.

    .

  • @dixie460 You people are missing the point. I never said pump the brakes. One good hard push is app it takes to stop these cars. They all have less than 250hp. That is very easy for the brakes to out musle. Just mash down ard and hold it. Every test in every magazine and TV show has had the same results. Brakes are more powerful than the engine. The car WILL stop.

  • I once had a master cylinder blow in rush hour traffic when a car in front of me slam hard on the brakes. It felt like my car accelerated to it's doom. I didn't crash. Instead, I was daydreaming about the excitement of installing a used new cylinder. :~)

  • I love how so many say apply the emergancy brake. It's not a separate brake on the car. It's just a cable that applies rear brakes only. It will provide less bite than the normal hydrolic brake aplication. On some trucks or high end performance cars they have a drum brake like device inside the hub of the rear rotors. No Toyota's have this. You are just tightening the cable that closes the rear caliper to hold the car when parked. That's all it does. It should be called a "parking brake"

  • uhmmm...not so fast...this "parking brake" is most awesome when you have zero vacuum at 90 mph.

  • @bravecat100 That's brake failure. For the issue at hand the hand brake is useless. I've had a drum cylinder blow. A combination of engine brakeing (stick) and hand brake stopped the car. But for a runway car, the handbrake is useless. Besides, most of the braking force is at the front of the car anyway.

  • @cbremer83 A master cylinder blowing is different from a WOT runaway. Often, a WOT runaway car is worsen by people pumping their brakes. If your car is front drive you should try to lock up your back wheels with hand brakes if the vacuum is lost. This may stop your car by the car skidding sideways. At zero vacuum, the hand brakes can concentrate its locking to the rear wheels, foot brake can't.

  • @bravecat100 why do you keep bring up brake failure issues. the Toyota problem has nothing to do with brake failure. Simple fact is that the hand brake will add nothing to the stopping power of the car over the normal brakes. Also, locking up the rear brakes is probably the worst thing a normal driver should do. Most people on the road have no idea how to control a slide. I've been racing for almost 10 years now. I'm no pro but I know a thing or two about car control.

  • @cbremer83 Second paragraph by dixie460 explains what I mean.

  • hahaha reminds me of nursery, you know, back when you were prolly 4years old........

cmon seriously, do we need this type of video ppl????/? "shift to neutral, thats N" seriously???!

obviously ppl just wanna sue toyota and get a quick fix on life since they were prolly affected by the recession; reason why they (90%owners) buy prius anyway, to save money.....from gas........while failing to see that they just spent another 30k for a new prius with lengthy waiting period.....dang

    regards

  • only in america

  • Why can't people proofread the text they put into videos before they publish them? It makes them look like complete fucktards.

  • They're no puck tarts. They're foreigners, at least they speak two language and willing to fix errors. At least suggest corrections, instead of acting like a mentally challenged guy. You're gonna live a long life if you don't grow up.

  • @bravecat100 @bravecat100

Wait... I criticize the laziness of not proofreading the text they put in their video before publishing it (after which point they cannot repair it without rendering and uploading an entire new video), and you say that I am acting mentally challenged? Of course! That makes perfect sense. The mentally challenged are always the ones angry about bad spelling, grammar and syntax!

  • @ninjaandy1337 Youtube allows annotations. If you would point which time frame are the errors I'll email the video maker to annotate it. If you're also admitting that you're mentally challenged, okay, then your cool. It takes a Zen master up to admit that.

  • @bravecat100 If you cannot spot the errors in the video yourself, you're (notice how I spelled the word "you're," as it is a contraction of "you are" and not interchangeable with the word "your," as you have used it incorrectly in your post) not worth my time. Furthermore, what exactly would their annotations say? "I'm an illiterate fucktard! Look how illiterate I am!" Annotating a video after you fuck it up does not fix it. That's why you take a damn minute and proofread it before you publish.

  • If you are the driver of a runaway car you will panic and not know how to stop. The solution is pretty simple but will escape you unless you practice the routine now. I think the method should be taught to all drivers. You should also know how to cut the engine off too as an alternative to shifting the gears to neutral. It would be preferable to stop a car without servo assistance and power steering than having a runaway car.

  • Fucking DUH, why do people need a video to tell them to put the fucking car in neutral?? I guess people the buy Toyotas?

  • and can someone tell me how to stop american car industry lobbists discrediting Toyota so they can take her place on the market? =) please make it also in a "guide for dummies" form so that 95% of Americans can get it =)

  • people should learn more about there car.stop complaining when things go wrong.Read the manual before you drive if you are that stupid.

  • @211Alucard

People who buy Toyotas can't read.

  • Throw the remote out the window. Once out of range car stops.

  • Throw the car remote out the window....... hahahahaha

  • amazing guide for idiots !!!

  • Strange gearbox! Ok, it's not a manual, but I've driven an automatic before and it's literally up and down from Park, through to N, D, R, 1, 2 (or similar, but it's up and down, none of this side to side messing about). Sport is when you're in D, but you switch a slide switch. Maybe it's a US thing? (I'm UK) as that would confuse me a bit ;-)

  • @Tim733733, Thank goodness you notice it was a strange gearbox. In a panic situation people could mistaken the strange gearbox to a neutral lockout. "Neutral lockout" is probably just a myth.

  • @sadieblooming

Once I'm able stop my 'runaway', what is the point of shutting it off? My onboard computer won't show any 'trouble codes' after shutting it off and the Toyota Dealer will think I stepped on the wrong pedal. The bottomline is that Toyota has no 'fix' for a "Ghost-in-the-Machine" and since I'll never trust that car again... Who cares if the engine keeps racing after I stop? IF Toyota shows up, they'll just shut it off and problem solved. I won't call Toyota, I'll call the media!

  • @sadieblooming First of all you shouldn't Panic,thats #1 mistake right there.

  • @sadieblooming what is neutral lockout? ive heard of reverse lockout on Manuals tho

  • A neutral lockout is the inability to shift to neutral once the engine reaches 5k RPM to protect the transmission. In some cars, a neutral lockout can happen at speeds greater than two miles per hour ensures available engine braking when descending hills.

  • @sadieblooming BULL!

  • @sadieblooming ha my scion xb 08 has had the computer replaced and the electric steering replaced because it all failed im always scared to drive my toyota scion xb and now after having 60k miles on it when at a stop light the steering makes really bad noises i think it all of toyotas problems are catching up to them... we should be building cars in america not japan

    ricky

19 years old was really excited to get my car but very sad of the problems it has

  • @sadieblooming Sorry but thats no excuse, if one owns a car and dosent have enough knowledge about it to know where neutral is even if its somewhat different than the older automatics then they shouldnt be driving a 3000lb chunk of steel 70mph around other people.

The problem isnt that cars are becoming confusing, its more that people dont understand the seriousness involved with owning a car and driving it on the road. Today it seems people think that driving is a right.

  • @Canuckerz completely agreed. thumbs up :o

  • @Tim733733 it's the same with my Automatic gearbox, up and down to choose the gears, P-R-N-D-2-1... mercedes has these stupid automatics too, but they're at least easy to use compared to the shit Toyota is offering...

  • @Tim733733 No. This car is weird. No wonder panicked people cant figure it out. Everything is so different. People have crashed and said they couldnt turn off the engine by pushing the button. They were probably panicking and thought they were holding the button down, but it wasnt held down long enough. 3 Seconds is a long time for somebody who is panicking. Toyota designers: if people are dying, then your design sucks.

  • @Jellolion1 3 seconds is not a
