By continually begging Ahmadinejad to meet with them, and Ahmadinejad scorning the invitations, Clinton and Obama are puffing up this murderer -- giving him stature. "See? He says he supports the people's will for change but then he turns around and says he wants to keep talks going with the government about their nuclear policy. Obama is weak? Haven't you heard all the people in, as well as out of Iran who are saying Obama is doing exactly the right thing by not making strong statements against the regime? Obama does not want to openly interfere in Iran's affairs, but if say, the CIA were to smuggle weapons to opposition groups, then the U.S. government could deny any knowledge of it. It's just like the U.S. suspects Iran of smuggling weapons to extremists in Iraq, but Iran denies it. That's the way the U.S. used to overthrow undesirable regimes in other countries before the days of Bush.

I think Obama is doing a smart thing right now not giving the Iranian Regime anything to turn around against in the US as propagandist lies. The Iranian people saw how the world responded to another dictator in North Korea acquiring nuclear weapons. The whole world condemned it. What's he supposed to do? Send in the U.S. military? Speak out against the regime? Anything he says or does will add fuel to the fire and stir up anti-U.S. feelings. Be thankful that he has the good sense to avoid meddling in another country's elections. Like it or not, his first priority is, and should always be, the safety and welfare of the U.S.
