Yoann Gourcuff is wasting his talent in Ligue 1. He was touted as the next Zidane for a long long time that mould is starting to grow now.

He is 25, there is not much time. He needs to get to a Serie A or Premier League club to get him playing again. He still can be a great playmaker but he needs to up the tempo, up the ante to push him to improve further.

Zidane is a person who strives to do better and better, I need to see Gourcuff have the motivation, otherwise he won't achieve much.

Gourcuff was the best player in Ligue 1 just when he played at Bordeaux :x in the first season when he was loaned from AC Milan and a little bit of the next year when he was bought from Milan but after this time he was out of form and he wasn't excele so much...so he gone to Lyon and doesn't did the same gameplay...

Gourcuff has done virtually nothing since arriving at Lyon and the coach has decided that the team play better without him. He's sat on the bench for the last 2 games. Result: 2 convincing wins for the team. Lyon will try to offload him this winter.

Arsenal weren't wrong to go for Arteta he's and experienced and capable footballer who's got good mental toughness some arsenal had been lacking. More importantly he's someone who stands in very well in the wilshere role. For the gunners, a player like gourcuff is still needed, jan being a good time to get him.

I can only hope you do as I like many want to see him fulfil the vast potential he has and become more mentally tough.

this is all great, but all this footage comes from his years at Bordeaux where he was elected the league's best player, but ever since he's at Lyon he hasn't shown that. I however believe that he has too much talent to disappear and Arsenal would be the best place for him to rekindle his career.

@tonilancien Arsenal were given £40 million to spend in the summer. They spent £46 million and earned a collective £72million for Nasri, Fabregas, Eboue and Clichy. Arsenal are the second richest club in England. A bad start to the season they have had, but it's early on and they aren't over just yet. They have millions, a fair play rule coming to their advantage and a very wise and skilled manager. Every team has a period of little or no success, this is just theirs.

Odviously wenger isnt looking long term, he spent the 10million to save the season. He will get another world class midfielder in jan or next summer, and im sure another striker after selling chamakh. Theo walcott could be going too to juventus or chelsea , so with that money, hazard is possible

But chamakh can leave to psg, he isnt performing. park was bought in as a short 4 million sub for chamakh for january since he is going off to africas nation cup. And if Park IS good, we only need to pay 10m to keep him. I say perhaps sell the 2 underperforming strikers, along with arshavin, and get some in form midfielder and strikers.

Arteta has a calming influence, is always there to receive a pass or put in a tackle, and is an incredible passer but is more of a deep-lying midfielder (more of a Xavi Alonso type player). Gourcuff has much more flair and skill on the ball, plays in a more attacking role. Arteta was a fantastic signing for Arsenal, and Gourcuff could be a great player for the Gunners aswell.
