  • Thank you for jogging the old memory!

  • Lived in Sierra Vista the summer of 1967 and met my first husband here. He was just back from a tour of VietNam and was biding time his last 3 months of service at Ft. Huachuca. Does anyone remember the bowling alley with the coffee shop attached? I worked there that summer before going back to Indiana with my soon to be husband.

I know live in Sierra Vista with my wonderful second husband of 34 years! We retired here a few years ago and love it!

    Thanks for the cool song!

  • Hi Bob. I think I was viewer #500 or so when I first listened to this song and requested the lyrics. Still listening and remembering. Great song and video. BTW, for the others, I was at the fort in '66 and '68. I too went swimmin' a lot. That's where I met Kay....... Chuck

  • Good song & good video!! Lived in S.V. from 1970 to 1995 and played in a band called "Macon Bacon" ! Wish I'd of heard this song back then so we could've played at every gig we did... Keith

  • I lived on meadowlark in 1962-66, Mike Beckelhymer's mom got a 1964 Malibu with a 4 speed and 327. we had that thing up to 140-145 on charleston rd. on stock tires. and I learned to drive on charleston rd. my dad had a 1958 MGA. fun. in C 1963 SV had about 3500 people

  • not born here, but raised here in Sierra Vista! I'm an army brat, but an Arizonan at heart!! great song.

  • Live out on Nucci and I have been in the navy for the last four years, been to great places like Hong Kong to Bahrain, but seeing this makes me miss Sierra Vista, its ok I will be back on its soil in June, for good!

  • ive been fortunate to travel the world -- but sierra vista will always be home --- the mountains -- smell of rain on the desert and the memories of those of our youth

  • When we first moved to Sierra Vista we lived in the apartments on Mulcahey drive (they were brand new) for almost a year, then I lived on the corner of Quail Run and Calle Portal from about 1969-1972.

Back then when you looked out of our back window all you saw was desert. Looking at google earth things have grown a lot and that whole area is now houses.

Unfortunately, never got back to Sierra Vista in all my travels.

  • A Blast From The Past! Graduated from Buena 1975. Now I'm here in Corpus and needed that fresh mountain air. -Leif

  • Ha, this is pretty cool, class of 2010 :P

  • Thank you so much for Sierra Vista. I grew up there and just left last Sunday. It was a great place to grow up though I didn't fully appreciate it then. Buena Class of 1986!!!!! Go Fighting Colts!!!! This brings tears to my eyes. The little town is growing but not all the growth looks good. I loved to see what has been there for all my life there and feel the comfort of being home amongst humble and kind people. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brings back so many memories. I lived there from 1983-1991, had many good friends there. I was in a hurry to leave then, now I wish I would have never left!

The desert air after a monsoon rain, the mountains, the people! Really good times and a Life time of memories!

I agree AZGirl, I didn't appreciate then either!

Thanks for video, and the stroll down memory lane!

I lived just off N. Carmichael on Cargil Dr.

  • Hi Bob - Thank you for the beautiful song and video about SV. It brought back wonderful memories of my childhood when I would visit from Chicago. Tell me - is the "green eyes next door" my cousin Adaline? Inquiring minds want to know... How are Bradley and Billy doing? (I confess to having had the worst crush on Bradley!) Again, thank you for the beautiful tribute to a place and time that continues to live in my heart.

  • I lived on meadowlark in 1962-66. 3500 pop. now the high school is gone. the old wood building full of dynamite along hwy near high school, that is gone too!. we use to go to NACO in beckelhymers 1964 Malibu we were 15-ish. Naco pop.300; all prostitutes! (no, I didnt) but it was all dirt & bars w/ horse tie-ups, very 1890 like. and Tombstone was all dirt roads. went 145mph in Malibu on Charleston Rd. we were young and foolish

  • I lived over there on James Dr. Behind the Geronimo Theater :)

  • @hypnotstcollector

i was there at fort huchuca 58-61. remember very fondly the charleston road, tombstone and naco as they were. recently visited before moving to the philippinesit was terrible to see what happened to tombstone and the charleston road.We had a band and gigged at the military inn as well as in douglas, the copacabana in agua prieta and places in bisbee

  • I was there from 86-88. Didnt appreciate it enough at the time. In retrospect, those were three of the best years of my life.

    Love the chord progression!

  • Ran across this looking for Huachuca stuff from the early seventies. SV has grown a lot since then. Fell in love with the song.

Is it or any other of the artist's music available on CD? Muchas Gracias for the posting.

  • I live in Sierra vista arizona

  • Sierra Vista for life!!

  • Found this by accident/

Thanks. I was stationed there in 1988. TDY'd there again in 1999. I could not wait to hit the mountains on post again, and of course, I got caught in a typical Monsoon. Almost got trapped by the water, but who cared, I was back in SV!

  • i love sierra vista. ive lived here for YEARS.

  • Love IT. As I watched the video I took a trip back down memory lane. I forgot how BEAUTIFUL Sierra Vista was. I no longer live there, but now when I get home sick, all I have to do is watch the video.

    Be blessed

    Barb

  • Thank you so much.Fort Huachuca is where I was raised. I only wished it had more of what the area and stores looked like.

  • I've never heard your stuff....but I'll go and listen now :) rest assured...it's not copied from you

  • Bob, thank you so much for sending me this site. While watching the video you made it brought back so many good memories of Sierra Vista and my days at Buena. The Friday night football games, cruising down fry blvd, going out to the river, watching my friends race at the quarter mile on charleston. Those were the days. Going up to the canyon's and hanging out. YOU Did an awesome job on this video and the song WOW... Totally awesome. :) Thank you so much for making my day.

  • I either grew up or "came of age" in the Ft. Huachuca / Sierra Vista area, depending on definition. Though it looks much different now, it is still the same place. This video brings back bittersweet memories of my own. Thanks for the memories!

  • my sis sent me this link, I have seen the other vids of SV and always smile. I lived and am now currently living here. It may drive us batty at time but you have to love the place. :P Thx for sharing :P

  • I realize that the quality of the video isn't that good...and that there are others who could have done it much better....but it's still kinda fun to see the scenes of Sierra Vista....again and again...thanks for your comment :O)

  • thanks, hi fort huachuca

  • wow great video i grew up there and try to visit my parents who still live there every so often... it has been a long time since i have been home cant wait to visit this year thanks a bunch for the song ..it is meaningful

  • Glad you liked it! Next time you visit Sierra Vista make sure you tell them all hello for me too :O)

  • I lived in S.V. for 23 years, moved to Austin in 2002 and haven't been back. Thank you for the footage.. got a little teary-eyed. I do miss the desert and Arizona.. and yes, Sierra Vista.

  • Hope it made you smile a little. And thanks for stopping by and for the comment. I miss the Arizona desert too :)

  • Thank you for that. Spend Army time there.

  • I also grew up there! Thanks for taking me back home, I loved your video!!! And the song Bob wrote is prefect! Awesome!

  • This video is very nicely done. It's been a long time since I've been there. Both of the nostalgia video's that you have posted are excellent. Keep up the good work.

  • I grew up there, you make it seem like a great place to live. Love you work!

  • Wow - It is a real small world. I used to live in Post Falls, attended NCC. Then a few years later, I ended up in Sierra Vista. Great video :).
