Heavens to Murgatroid! What an awesome clip! I dig it the most, daddy-o! If the late great Gene Vincent was any cooler, he'd have been frozen! Thanks so much for uploading this delightful "blast from the past"! You've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS, mate! :-)
i read his book ((the day the world turned blue,)) felt sorry for him but thats just me,his was very giving, also spoke to an ol guy who remember,s when Gene was on stage behind the curtain about to come out and perform ij arround late 1950,s,he would stick his hand out through the curtain(Leather Gloves on))and the girls would go nuts as did the crowd, and then curtains drawn and all hell broke loose on stage,in a time when teenager,s were breaking out from the norm, it would of been dynamic!!!
who was the lead guitarist anybody ????? and what type of amp was that behing him ??? makes you want to go back in time and stay there, and get to hell out of this shit hole today....real gone cat !!!
@vieurocker hey many thankyou,s, mate,i see so many guitarists from days gone by 40s,50,s and 60,s and i always want to know about them as it interests me,,i knew someone would know of him, cheer,s from sydney down under
@vieurocker Although barely 20 years old Joe played the great lead guitar work on iconic British rocknroll cuts such as Vince Taylor's "Brand New Cadillac" and Johnny Kidd's "Shaking all over" & "Restless". He became a much soughtafter session guitarist thro the 60s and beyond, hence he backed the likes of Gene. He sadly passed away only last week age 73. RIP Joe.
encore bien physiquement jusqu'en novembre 63(voir video du film live it up);c'est après qu'il s'est vraiment dégradé;je" cherche en vain des vidéos de sa tournée en angleterre 1960 avec eddie cochra
Gene is a great Rockabilly and he could sing a beaifull ballet which I didnt no..Elvis was also great singer, thank you for posting this video and some wondrfull music.
I like both of these selections, back to back. Gene didn't have nearly as many chart toppers as Elvis, but I like his style, music and would prefer to listen to him ans well as watch his these videos. It;s like saying if i had a doowop party, Gene Vincent would replace Elvis..it would be a party without the king(ha).. Oh yes, I'd play Eddie Cochran, Fabian, Skip& Flip, Freddy Cannon, Jan & Dean, connie Francis and a song called 16 reason by Connie Stevens..& no Elvis. Thx4 postin'

gene had a basic mike-stand move or two, but watch james brown, marvin gaye et al, they all used and moved on from the same moves.

This is pure rock and roll. Simple and honest. No synthesizers, no computer enhanced voices, no lip synching or over-done choreography.

It was a fantastic record but what has happened to the sound on this video? Lots of white noise in my right ear.
RonShiel 7 months ago
@RonShiel recorded live probably with only one or two ambiance microphones.
