  • Not that I'm a hater or anything, as you can tell by the username he's my favorite player ever, by far. But that change of pace crossover on Gerald Wilkins (93 Playoffs) before that amazing layup is a MAJOR carry. You can't pause with the ball that long while dribbling across the body with one hand. Sometimes with MJ's hands being so big, on certain dribbling maneauvers it made what he was doing easier to carry the ball. Maybe not even intentionally. But it was definitely a carry.

  • the greatest basketball player ever!

  • In all these videos there are people with the same color shirt as Jordan. What are they doing there?

  • It's wicked funny watching this video while listening to straight out of canton by notorious msg

  • This is by FAR the best Jordan compilation. I like it because it shows a nice mix of Jordan's dynamic abilities. He was fast, powerful, agile, intelligent, etc.

Most highlights that exist today focus much on Jordan being clutch or acrobatic. Although these are attributes of Jordan I think ppl forget that his game contained much more.

Good job and thanks for uploading your vid.

  • somebody please send this to Lebron James...

  • Kids, please look at these scenes and note how sometimes the entire team has their hands on MJ, pushing him like a crowd of wild gorillas. And now look at your favourite players of today with their "no hand checking"-rule NBA and tell me again they are better than Jordan in any possible way. If that's your honest opinion then you're completely delusional.

  • LilMax - I think I can see where you're coming from. It's nice to see someone from the younger generations with an open mind who can see the difference between Michael and the current great mid-sizers like Kobe, LeBron, etc.

You make a good point : it's not just in the vertical but in *how* an athlete uses it. Michael was a great one-footed leaper off his left and had a nice kind of sideways 'bunny hop'; he could really torque his body in any direction on take-off *and* in midair. Body control.

  • David Thompson, Clyde Drexler, Spud Webb, Steve Francis come to mind. Those are bad examples, because my point was that, at the NBA level, it's not uncommon to have an exceptional vertical leap like Michael's. This does not necessarily equate to being a great dunker, finisher, or mid-air athlete.

This is a point that is often misunderstood by fans who assume that because a vertical is perhaps necessary to produce such great moves that it must also be sufficient. Simply put, it's not.

  • lilmax - Jordan's vertical was likely around 42-43 inches; there is a document on the web somewhere verifying dating back to his UNC days which corroborates this, but you can get the idea from his height relative to the rim on some dunks and drives such as this one.

42-43 is exceptional, but when you're dealing with NBA athletes, it's far from unheard of. David Thompson, Spud Webb, Clyde Drexler, and Steve Francis are a few I can think of who top that.

  • so unstoppable...only way to stop him is hard fouls...but sometimes hard fouls aren't even enough...depending on how badly MJ wants victory

  • just simply G.O.A.T. MJ invented all those great moves and modern players can only emulate abit of it.

  • 0:21 he is almost eye level with the rim on that finger roll off the twisting drive...plenty of dudes with bigger verticals, but how many with that kind of body control?

  • man this is very nice!!

  • And oh yea at 0:05 the announcers are wrong, he didn't slip by accident, it was by design.

  • 0:05 was the best clip. Jordan waits for the zone to switch then goes behind the defender by stopping with a slide and going behind the switching, unaware defender. MASTERFUL.

  • wow @ the foul @ 3:00! In the Bulls stadium too? Who body slams someone in basketball? Lucky Jordan didn't get seriously injured or the entire 18,000+ fans would of just killed the other team.

  • love you man jordanlover23

  • i love it! thanksssss

  • 2:14 WOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was a great video. I just wished it had a better quality.

  • Do you have this game?

    youtube(dot)com/watch?v=nnWWYNBcrpc

  • i am here to look for the clip you are talking about with the 3.2 sec fast break with the dribble. but man!! the dunk on 0:52 is extremely crazy, facial on ewing without much running. he really pull the ball all the way back since his hand is big enough to palm it. really amazing.

  • The 3.2 second 3/4 court dunk while dribbling (of which he's done many) isn't in this video. I've timed it straight from my DVDs on editing software, though.

  • so who hold the record of running with out the ball from side to side?you think jordan can finish it without the ball in 3? i been trying to see (using my naked eyes) to see if leborn could match with jordan in terms of fast break speed..i think leborn is definitely quick but it just seems a bit slower..maybe it is the way he runs, but i dont have the timer on the editing program and i might be wrong. but i bet he is the only guy now that could challenge jordan full court speed.

  • Pause it at 0:20. his head is above the rim on a freaking layup shot!

  • LEBRON JAMES IS NOTHING COMPARED TO JORDAN. never will be.

  • on the 4:30 clip, when they showed the replay, you could tell that one guy pushed him and the guy that was on the ground jammed out his arm to trip him. i can't belive he stayed so calm right after. i probably started a fight right there.

  • Why not?

  • its the shoes

  • well done.. some good unseen footage.. thx for sharing..

  • geez patrick ewing was a good center but boy was he mj's whipping boy or what?

  • 愛妳,米高,,永遠!

  • The UNC move is from a UNC/UCLA alumni game from around 1987 or so. That's Miller who he blows by at the start of the move. The clips were taken from my Bulls/Jordan DVD collection. I should have another video up within the next couple of weeks hopefully. Won't be all fancy like Hoops' videos; probably just like this one except shorter.

  • he split the detroit defense like butter at the 4:31 mark and that fag edwards tripped him up,man think of all the dirty plays jordan had to deal with, and how many times his career could of been ended, you talk about luck and also being strong and balanced on his moves so that he usual avoided being seriously injured, thats why these punks that say its a harder era to play in now are out of their minds.

  • those dunks at 52 and 1:10 should explain as to why Jordan is the most unstoppable dunker!

  • ur a dumbass

  • Don't worry. I probably have it on tape somewhere still. I'll put it up when I find it. Greatest shot I've ever seen. Thanks for showing your age by the way.

  • And here I thought by "ad" you meant that it was faked for an advertisement. You mean this was an ACTUAL shot? Wow. Hopefully you can find it one day, because that would be amazing to see.

  • hey hoops, I have over 350 mj games on tape. i also have a compilation vhs tape that lasts an hour full of RARE mj highlights.

  • hoops, let me if you need that tape or any other games. you too jordan lover. i don't have the software to do this and I have too many mj games and highlights that don't need to be wasted!!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked the dunk on Patrick Ewing early in his career where Patrick inbounded it right to MJ and MJ dunked right on him. Killer!

  • this vid clip is good. can i download the clip? please

  • Really good stuff!

Some really rare highlights are on here, some I've never seen before. Really appreciate you taking time to make this. Thanks in advance for any other future Jordan Vids.

  • tight as hell. good job

  • Hah, never saw that hoops. Funny stuff. :P

  • The dunk on 1:10 and the one-handed, absurd hang-time drive at 2:13 were pure MJ. Un-plagiarisable.

  • Great vid

  • Hey LOKI :), nice to see you here. I've already seen these clips at ISH but good to see 'em again. You gotta go on more vacations man so that we can see more rare MJ highlights :D

  • By the way, that sick UNC one-handed layup was from a UNC/UCLA alumni game played around 1987 or '88, I think. Reggie Miller is the defender he initially blows by to get into the lane. :P

  • You did a great job. Widescreen adds a different perspective.

I thought that UNC move was a dunk? How did you come across that one. Michael and Reggie battled.Michael would chase him through all the screens and still dominate offensively.

    Peace and God Bless,

    John 17:3- Know Him!

  • As for more clips, don't hold your breath, because making these is a HUGE process -- I actually have to watch the entire game (numerous games), mark down the times of the great plays, then use my software to extract them (and it's a slow process), and then combine them. We're talking weeks and weeks worth of free time spent, here. :P

  • Yeah I know! Kudos to you dear jordanlover!!!

  • "i love how when michael jordan dunked on patrick ewing, i think, at the 3:46, one of the announcers/commentators just screams "awwwwwwwww!!! whoooo!!!" hahaha hilarious"

Yeah, the MSG announcers were even crazier -- you've probably heard it when they show that clip sometimes. They just go "whoa!" really loud at the same exact time that the crowd does, and it just sounds thunderous. :P

  • Great compilation! Thanks very much. I remember a one-handed jumper in a game vs Knicks, but don't think it was a three and it was in 96 tho. :)

  • One-handed, double-pump three? Wow, never seen (or even heard of) that one. As in, he never touched it with the other hand and made it in? Sick if true. There's a game vs. Cleveland that I saw on ESPN Classic once where he basically does the Hotsauce And-1 "fake shot" to Ehlo out past the three point line, Ehlo bites, and he takes one dribble in and nails the 18 footer. Wish I had that game. :P

  • Yeah, TBS or TNT had these NBA ads in the mid 80s and one clip had MJ taking off from the 3-point line (!) with the ball in his right hand, pumping it like the free throw line dunk, taking 3 steps in the air and releasing it for the swish. It's the most awesome "jumper" ever. I had it on tape but it got erased.

  • Thanks for mailing me about your clip. Please put up the rest if you can! The rare footage is what we need. MJ's got so many great moves, if you just take any 3 games from any year, you can fill up the reel real quick. I'm still looking for the one-handed, double-pump trey he took in one game - craziest shot ever. It was on a TBS ad in the mid-80s.

  • As for other highlights, well, I guess I'll upload another video if and when I ever get around to extracting more clips from my game DVD's. Side note: there's about a 5% speed decrease on these clips for some reason. When you view the games (or each clip in isolation on my PC), it's slightly faster than when I combined them -- apparently the editing program I used slows them down a bit. Maybe due to compression? So you don't really get the full sense of Jordan's speed from this video.

  • Yeah, Martin's knees really buckled on that one; the replay showed in much more clearly, but I didn't capture it. It's too bad Jordan lost the handle a bit on the shot which gave Kenyon a chance to recover to challenge. Jordan's first step on the subsequent Wizards play vs. Martin is ridiculously fast -- and he's 39 here!

  • I actually have about 130-150 Bulls games on DVD, so one week while on vacation, I just extracted some clips from them onto my PC. :)

  • Pretty impressive.. thanks for sending me the message about it! Where did you get the clips that aren't on the MJ/Bulls DVDs?
