That was great I loved how they kept running back and forth! I have pet chickens myself and they do bring a WHOLE lot of joy into your life! Geese and turkeys are great too, just don't have any...don't have the space :<
Chickens are great pets, no Fleas, No Teeth to bite, No Rabies, They are good with kids, They are so funny, They are curious and love to explore the yard, They are the BEST Loveable Pets! Very easy to make happy, We like to pick up an extra fresh ear of corn or two at the grocery store and we shuck it and give it to them on the corn cob, they have so much fun with it.
@FlockSomeone Did you have to get the chickens used to their pen before you let them run outside? Also, do you train them to come back at night? I'm afraid my chickens wont come back.
@N8mont4 - We got them to feel safe in their coop while they were little, feeding them in there etc. (About 3 months) As they got older we let them out with us while we were in our back yard. Soon they just took care of themselves, looking for bugs etc. After a few times of having to round them up, we found while we were out in the backyard at sunset they just started putting themselves up.
TIP: If you feed them a little in the am and again at night they will follow you into the coop.
@sujaysukumar123 - They go back to the coop by themselves at night, when the sun sets. When they were chicks we put them in every night, now with the coop door open they put themselves to bed.
Ur chuckens are adorable

Here is the rule of thumb, if there is not enough space for the chicken to work up a good run before he stops, than it is to SMALL!

Do the hens and roosters go back to the coop by themselves? Or do we have to coax them?
