  • I was 3 years old when he died :O So I can say that he was alive in my lifetime.

  • I was born 10 days after this interview.

  • Tiny Tim, you are missed, and I hate that you are dead :(

  • June 26 is my birthday :D

  • "1900 and 86"

  • Kind soul.

  • which year did he die?

  • @MediaHoax he died in 1996

  • @mustangfan1995 That makes this video extra special.

  • @MediaHoax yes it does, infact that was about 5 months before he died.

  • i clicked on the 5:07 in the description and was like "the hell"?

  • Search Tiny Tim, Spinal Tape, 8 track for a longer edit of this interview.

  • this takes me back a little, I almost feel I've been there before. The visual Tiny Time made with those cubes during the interview reminded me of something at Children's Museum of Manhattan. And the west side of Manhattan the way I remember it in the mid-90s. And if I ever met him before he died (and I was 4 then), he'd probably be some smelly guy I spoke with and not be able to appreciate his music let alone know about it until much later in my life. Which is pretty sad.

  • yay jim dandy reference

  • does anyone else notice the two 8-track shaped tumors on his face? Just kidding, RIP Tiny

  • Yikes...as he got older he just morphed into the Penguin didnt he?

  • @charbroiledmonk1033

yeah.. when people get older and older they care less and less of what people think so for some people they let themselves go more and more.

  • This is one of many interviews from my upcoming documentary about the 8 track, SPINAL TAPE.

  • Gilbert AZ

  • @Gerardilove 1458 s.pheasant dr. I call ur bluff u fucking faggot ass price of shit.

  • THATS MY BIRTHDAY JUNE 26 1996!!!!!!!

  • @cunninggnomefoo twas my 2nd birthday

  • I think he may be autistic

  • @THEvFLASH Fuck you maybe ur autistic to choose a screen name like that i feel ur autistic pain u shit dont ever rip off tiny tim like that ever or ill find u

    :)

  • @gerardilove What the fuck is your problem? Saying that someone is autistic is not automatically an insult, unless you're bigoted towards people who are not neurotypical. In reality, Mr. Khaury had a pretty severe case of OCD. This does not in any way diminish his talent, it was just part of his life.

  • OH SHIT! i've never heard him using a regular voice... that isnt so high pitched..

  • whys he hold those things to his head

  • When did he die?):

  • @RolysOrizaga november 30th, 1996, few months after this :L

  • @CannibalisticTomato, Oh well that's a shame:/ thanks

  • @stephnj1 oh

  • What Does He have by his head and why ???

  • @prommagloves92 He's talking about CDS, and how he misses 8 track tapes...those are 8 track tapes he's holding up!

  • He sure was talented. Rest in peace...

  • JUNE 26, 1996 ?!?!?!?! tHATS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

  • @FudgeCool1 are you serious? i was born that day.. were you born that day? OMG. haha, first person i've ever met with the same exact birthday as me.

  • @Tiffmidon Yep I was born around 10pm-11:59 pm or earlier, Beats me

  • This is the day I was born!

  • @23toptier This was my 30th birthday!

  • Barely over 5 months before he died

  • tiny tim was such an amazing artist, r.i.p dude..your music lives on forever!

  • This was just 5 months before he died. Poor fella. He lived a very tough life.

  • @Raikaage No he didn't

  • Why dont you zoom in on his face some more.

  • @Elprede LMAO

  • happy forever

  • is that craig ferguson

  • For those that miss Tiny Tim, his music lives on in the work of other artists. Janet Klein performs similar tunes in California and has some videos up here. Like TT, she has discovered the wonders of the many excellent songs from the 1910's and 1920's . It is clear to see that this man was far more complex than most people supposed just from seeing his stage performances and TV appearances.

  • how did he die?

  • @tacY2K Heart disease, November 1996

  • i love this man his music is awsome

  • Oh, I really love this guy...he is SO COOL!!

  • Tiny Tim I sure miss you R.I.P I loved living in the sunlight and ure super

Awesome. I wish u were still alive u could of been a super singer. May you rest in a lot of peace :(

  • I miss Tiny Tim.....

The man was cool in his own way....

  • If he was alive he could have played a bad-ass villain on Criminal Minds

  • hes sexy

  • I actually admired Tiny Tim for his uniqueness and individuality. He didn't try to imitate anyone's style or persona...he was just himself. Sure do miss him...may he rest in peace. :)

  • He's singing the old R and B song "Jim Dandy to the Rescue"

  • In the beginning he reminds me of Edarem :O

  • Comment removed

  • whats he singin.

  • @brittanybug10 he is talking about how he misses a particular feature on the 8 track player, that being you could listen to the 8 tracks over and over without stopping the tape.

8 track was a type of cassette popular in United states mostly, not really kicking off else where.

  • one of the sweetest men to walk the earth

  • It's sad that he died a few months after this review

  • :( I really want to have been at that fair where he died.

  • I just stayed at the denton hloiday inn a month ago. weird

  • Comment removed

  • this is an old bosses and my dads birthday!

  • RIP Tiny....his music WAS and still IS an inspiration to many. Unique was his genre, but many many people looked up to him for that. It took skill to sing in that fashion and survive the ridicule he surely received.....

  • So weird to see posts from people born round the time Tiny died. I commend you all for taking note of a very important man in pop music history ! Tiny was a part of my life since I was a child , which was a very long time ago . I love him even more now I think. He was considered so weird when he became popular ,and yes he was weird but he was a music historian who inspired so many other musicians by bringing back some great old tunes. God Bless Tiny.

  • when did Tiny die?

  • Tint left us in 1996.

    God Bless Tiny Tim!

  • I agree :) long live Tiny Tim and god bless him

  • He bass away He passed away 5 years and 6 months after I was born.

Ah Lavern Baker!! What great taste Tim!

  • what was the EXACT day he died....how did he die?

  • @brittanybug10

  • @pearce1984 he actually passed from a second heart attack while playing at a benefit in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • i forget what day but he died of a heart attack

  • RIP Tiny tim...ty for the spongebob song wich kicks ass

  • Denton, as In Denton TX?

  • It's really sad when you realize you love a musician's music after they have passed on. It feels like I'll never know any more about tiny tim that what he has already left behind.

  • i know i was hi in the past life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mearathenarwhal he died in 96' retard.

  • @ColorMeVicious

i feel exatly the same way :(

  • @ColorMeVicious Hi,CMV! I'm "Galaxo". I just uploaded a 20 minute interview with Tiny Tim from when we was playing in Omaha, Nebraska in 1982. He goes into length about his song studies, and a great story about 'The Album That wrecked his Career". Type in the search title, This Is An Interview: Tiny Tim with Wes Bailey"

  • This interview was on the day I was born...June 26 1996...

  • Rest in pieces, Tiny Tim.

  • he passed away the day i was born =(

  • He was so well spoken and was a treasure trove of old forgotten tunes. I wish there were more talen around like him these days.

  • Comment removed

  • You'd never think that watching his performances he'd speak so well. I wish he was still alive and performing today, it would've been awesome to see him perform live.

  • I adore him.

  • I had tons of eight tracks when I was a teenager (I'm 44 now.) As much as I loved them, they were miserable. If you had them in your car in the winter, they would drag. Also, with the continous loop and the carbon on the back of the tape forever rubbing against the magnetic side of it, it slowly ruins your tapes, and it also coats the tape head with carbon as well. But they were fun, although impractical.

  • I walked by Tiny Tim in a music store in Des Moines in 1996. I didn't say anything, and I'll kick myself forever that I didn't shake his hand or something. I wasn't a big fan, but I realise how talented and unique he was, and that he was also a very, very nice person. He was wearing a really gaudy, colorful jacket, I was struck by the size of his nose! He said in an interview that one of the things he liked about Des Moines was that DM was one of the few towns left that had paper bags in stores!

  • 8 tracks were superior sound quality than the cassette but smaller, became more widely used. Like the Laser Disc player and Laser discs, the first DVD's.. Those were already HD quality but, smaller is better and then we got DVD's and now HD DVD blue ray when actually Blue ray is old technology from over 10 yrs ago

  • I just adore him... RIP, Tiny.

  • Thank you for all of the love and joy in your music that you shared will all of us. R.I.P Tiny Tim

  • Tiny Tim is awesome!

  • this was a few months before he passed....R.I.P

and if your curious to how he died...it was a heart attack at a ukulele festival ...and he was released sometime after and went back to preform....and had another heart attack playing "Tiptoe through the Tulips" and died an hour later......R.I.P Tiny Tim

  • Atleast he passed on doing something he loved R.I.P Tiny Tim.

  • Long live Tiny Tim!

  • ok...... ?

  • lol

    not long now timmy

    better call the meat wagon........

  • he was a unique man who lived to the beat of his own drum.

  • This might sound strange but he sung me to sleep when I was a baby in Florida.

  • u serious?

  • what the heck was he singing

  • "Jim Dandy to the rescue".

  • contact me for Tiny Fan Club info!

  • wat the hell is he doing?

  • His last words: "No, I'm not alright ! "

  • what?!?!?!?! before he died?!??!?!! oh shit... why did i suddenly feel bad.... i was expecting something like.... now i can go peacefully... or something.... oh god... was he mad when he said that???? and i thought he had heart attack while doing tiptoe tulips...

  • why was that? what happened?

  • lol

y is it that most of us have only heard of him within the last few days?

    its kinda creepy

  • did you hear the commercial with his tiptoe through the tulips song?? thats why i looked him up...

  • rest in peace

  • exactly true, a continus loop on an 8 track, :)

  • i just stumbled upon Tiny Tim exactly 5 days ago... man, he puts smile on my face!!! tiptoe through the tulips keeps playing in my head!!! in difficult times like recession, we need some Tiny Tim's in our lives!!!

  • 1996... in this year tiny tim died :(

    R.I.P

  • Rest in peace may the blessings of daimoku be with you forever in eternity!

  • like some others here, i've only discovered tiny tim a week ago, and i can understand how he was ridiculed becuse people aren't willing to accept differences which is a crying shame, because the unique are often best but never given a chance. I get a lot of ridicule myself because i'm a bit strane admittedly. I think part of me does enjoy watching him because he looks psych. (try not to take that the wrong way, i'm not trying to insult. I would've lied to meet him... R.I.P Tiny Tim :)

  • man i discoverd him a month ago , i love hid work its incredible

  • Tiny Tim is awesome! And so are 8 tracks.

I got over 100 8 tracks, and an 8 track player in my car, travel trailer, and 2 in my house lol

  • "I miss the 8 track, but I can't say theres a tear coming to my eye".

It made me smile even though Im sad.

  • he's my hero. all the way. i love him so much :)

    rip.

  • he was able to drink lots of BEER!!

  • He didn't look so old, that's what makes it sadder :[

  • sooo because a man has a higher voice it makes him gay? wow. this man is a genius. he is remarkable.

  • Obviously not everyone's cup of tea, Tiny was very sincere and unfairly but understandably ridiculed. He was a true musicologist, he knew thousands of songs by heart. Check out his final album GIRL, recorded with Brave Combo. He was the most amazing and complex person I have ever known, and I miss him because I never knew what he was going to say next; it was always a zinger. Every project I worked on with Tiny lost money due to lack of interest, so to all of you, I am moved by all the kindness.

  • wow, man! I discovered tiny tim a few weeks ago, I was able to get his God bless tiny tim, his first album and I love it! I lsiten to it almost once a day!

He had remarkable talent, even if he was underrated, it doesnt matter, as long as he still makes people happy with his music! Im sure God must bless him everyday!

  • @bucks1414 I agree with you...I grew up in the sixties and did not understand his the uniqueness of his act.

  • Although the interview was not intended for release until the documentary I'm making is complete, it can be found in the Extras section of the truly excellent DVD 8 track documentary So Wrong They're Right. My thanks to Tommy Jones whoever that is for posting it - I'm glad to see it getting so many views, and very happy to read such nice comments from everyone. I worked with Tiny for 15 years on various projects and he endured a huge amount of ridicule his entire life, which he was nice about.

  • I will post a few comments to clear things up. I filmed this interview in Denton, TX for a documentary I am producing about the 8 track tape. This is the complete interview, there is no more footage on this subject, although I have a few hours of Tiny speaking on various subjects.

  • Is there any way you could post the other material you have with Tiny Tim? I'd love to hear him speaking on the other subjects.

  • I filmed this interview! Bucks Burnett, Dallas.

  • Have you seen Tiny Tim on any interviews? He sounds gay and laughs like it. I told my friends this and they were surprised. I'm not trying to diss him or anything. I think he's cool but I'm amazed at how high his voice can get.......

  • Tiny Tim performed at the 1970 Isle of Wight Pop Festival. When he came on stage, he was yelled at and booed, and had cans of Coke thrown at him. He braved this onslaught and started playing "Rock n Roll" on the ukele, and singing. He had quite a repetoire, and the final result was that he had a standing ovation. He was awesome and I am sitting here crying just thinking about it.

I only found out today that he is dead, so I'm sad.

  • I wish Tiny Tim was my father.

  • Me too. God bless him!

  • He is insane, but awesome.

  • Yes, he was indeed a bit of an eyesore. However, you fail to address his legacy as one of the best singers to ever grace the ukulele, which I think more than makes up for his unfortunate looks.

  • True. Tiny Time was an epic man.

  • do you mean tiny tim?
