There were times during WWII when it was NOT obvious that the Allies would win! There was an over-riding interest in getting the war "over with." Although Auschwitz's entry trains and tracks should have been bombed, it is difficult to fault the Allies for not doing it. There were thousands of Allied soldiers dying daily. It was horrible.

Imagine the whole universe as completely empty (this is pretty much the case in reality, much of space is empty space), in a universe which is infinitely large there are a few 'needles' pointing up, lets say flour falls through the universe and only on these needle points does some of flour come to rest. The needle points represent planets that will support life, essentially what I'm saying is there are points in the universe that will support life but much of the rest of the universe will not.

We have many planetary bodies orbiting our Sun but only earth supports life, why would God waste his time manufacturing planets and other bodies that don't support life and don't particularly have a purpose, these things aren't explained by any religion. We now know of many stars that have planets orbiting them, who knows if intelligent life exists on them but we know they are there so there is a chance life could also exist on planets if the circumstances are correct much like it is for Earth.

No it isn't mysterious, random or even coincidence, in this unimaginably large universe that life exists somewhere that is ideal for it to take hold, if life does not exist anywhere but Earth then I would surprised. E.g, people play the lottery each week, chance of someone winning is unimaginable low but if you have enough people playing someone will win. Auschwitz was a concentration camp. If the US had bombed it, all of the people being imprisoned there would have been killed. There were survivors who wouldn't have survived a bombing, I mean.
