I love God of War and Dante's Inferno, but the thing is in God of War, Kratos is this ruthless sex driven killing machine, he rarely shows remorse, pity, etc. Dante is a lot more natural, he shows emotions, spares people, his whole journey is solely for love.

I played the Dante's Inferno demo. TOO SIMILAR to God of War III, really it is (parrying, button mini game,grabbing,creature riding,even the health pickups).

The demo (specifically the end clip that showed some of the circles,bosses,"devil triggers") sparked enough interest to warrant a good rent.
Still compared to GoW, DI's blocking isn't responsive enough (between button press and the action), and the parrying time window is way to big, making it too easy to parry.
Graphics are also not that good (ESPECIALLY compared to GoW III) but hey I'd rather see more copy-cat games like this than those stupid carbon copy shooters.
Dude... think of Dante's Inferno as rivaling God of War 1....NOT God of War 3. Dante's Inferno is the first one in it's series. God of War 3 is well... the THIRD one in the installment. Look, DMC and GoW are completely different. You can't compare them, They may have SOME similar aspects but story wise, weapon wise, etc they're different, you can't compare them just because they're all hack and slash games. I think that this game will also have some original aspects to it, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm talking from a gameplay perspective not a story one. I was comparing the two demos.
Okay so Kratos is a bad guy, all that does is add credibility to his awesome brutality unlike Dante, a cliche good guy.
And DI may have stole GoW gameplay, but it lacks the fluidity and polish of it's "parent "
Also if I was in it for the story I wouldn't be playing either of the games. As both have straightforward stories.
GoW=REVENGE! and DI= Save the girl :P

Dont anyone dare compare this game to DMC!!! Nothing like it, although i will say it's basically GoW with a new character, story and weapons, not that there's anything wrong with that :)

this game is an exact copy of GoW (fight mechanics wise) i mean first of all it's a hack and slash, second u can kill things that are normally impossible to kill, aand finally, there are rideable creatures (this is only in GOW 3), so this is an exact copy of the GOW series

Look, DMC and GoW are completely different. You can't compare them, They may have SOME similar aspects but story wise, weapon wise, etc they're different, you can't compare them just because they're all hack and slash games. I think that this game will also have some original aspects to it, but we'll have to wait and see.

Honestly Dantes Inferno takes so much from God Of War its crazy. Everything from the 'Souls' that come out of bodies to the combat in general.
Still they both look amazing but I don't think Dantes Inferno is particulary original. The story looks above the rest though.

Seems a bit odd to mention anything about greek mythology.. And Dante's Inferno was one third of his comedia, not a poem.
But it seems like an interesting interpretation. It kind of sucks not having any of those consoles - it would've been interesting to see how they show the various circles.

it looks okay but god of war has allot better graphics and allot more enemies on the scree nat the one time making for a more intense battles, but this game has a far better atmosphere

And thus we have a seemingly eternal debate. Which are stronger: gods or anthropomorphization of some concept or truth? Personally I go with the latter, especially after reading Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. Gods are finite beings who can be killed. "Death" is a representation of something that is constant and unavoidable, a universal truth of existence itself. Now, I'm not in any way trying to dismiss what Kratos was able to accomplish, which was great, but... -shrug-

I actually like it when a game developer says, hell yeah this other game was an inspiration. It kind of like when people went to Clover Studio and said Okami was suspiciously similar a Zelda game and Clover was like "well no shit" (not an actual quote).
