  • I bought a license and the backup to a hard drive was successful, but the restore won't work. It says my other itunes version was more recent, but when I click OK to this, it gives this error: IE_RESTORE_INVALID_ITL_VERSION. Any thoughts?

  • @maxiGB3 Hello, please contact our support team for assistance.

  • I did this but have a problem. It won't transfer all of the files. The library is there but it won't put the files on the computer until I play them. For example, I have no Sigur Ros mp3s on my computer. When I try to play one from my itunes library after a restore there is a delay (while it builds the file from the back up) and then it plays. Does this mean I have to play ALL my 90GB library before all files are transferred to the new computer?

  • @d1avehughes That's not the normal behavior. Please get in touch with our support team for assistance.

  • will you lose your playcounts and ratings ?

  • @deaetee Nope! CopyTrans TuneSwift transfers everything including Playcounts and Ratings.

  • keeps crashing at the end of saving backup file .it finishes processing the files and once it reaches the total files it crashes every time .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @raison123 Hello! Don't worry our dedicated team will help you out! Feel free to contact them explaining your problem at copytrans(at)copytrans(dot)net.

  • My Destination Laptop PC has a small SSD. How can I move my iTunes Library from my OLD PC, keeping the iTunes Library on an external HDD?

I have used TuneSwift to backup my Library (97GB) the I re-ran TuneSwift to MOVE my Library to external HDD (Another 97GB moved).

So how can I point my New PC at the external HDD so it becomes my only iTunes Library for syncing my iPhones/iPad to?

Is it as simple as using the advanced TAB iTunes Location setting?

  • Does this transfer apps?

  • @daemperador123 Absolutely! CopyTrans TuneSwift transfers the complete iTunes library.

  • What if I don't have a big enough external drive?

  • @Emerson21831 Don't worry the iTunes backup archive is split into multiple 4GB files by default. You can also customize the size of each sub file in the Advanced settings of the program. Contact our support team if you need further assistance.

  • I do not let iTunes manage my library. Is there a way to retain this when I transfer. Transtunes seems to change it to iTunes management.

  • @fengureek Sorry for the inconvenience caused. For now, that piece of information is indeed not transferred as it is stored somewhere else on the computer. However it will be retained in the next version of the program.

  • Hi I'm wondering if this keeps all my playlists, play counts and song ratings, etc. This was my biggest problem with other iTunes transferers

  • @bbking006 Don't worry everything in iTunes will be transferred to the new computer or external drive (inc. playlists, playcounts, ratings etc.).

  • I have to purchase the program but it doesn't have the option to choose "tuneswift". Do i buy "copytrans"?

  • @karlagv1994 Hi, actually CopyTrans TuneSwift is free for now. You just have to download the CopyTrans Suite from the download section of the website and activate the program with the code "TUNESWIFT-ACTIVATE-ME"

  • Uhm... so itunes just automatically reads the file type that you have transferred?

    Somehow I'm not believeing this?

  • @HelloBrainMind TuneSwift does it for iTunes. You can transfer the entire iTunes library and restore it on another computer using TuneSwift. The iTunes files will not be changed. (Hope I got your question right).

  • And... should I do the transfer BEFORE downloading iTunes to the new computer or AFTER downloading iTunes to the new computer?

  • @HPRMan Obviously you have to install iTunes FIRST prior to restore your library on the new computer.

  • Not sure how to locate the library on the NEW computer. Can I just put it anywhere and iTunes will find it? It says you can leave it the same... or browse and select a new destination... Huh?

  • @HPRMan By default, CopyTrans TuneSwift auto-detects where the iTunes Media folder is located. If you don't change anything in your iTunes preferences, don't worry about it.

  • i fixed it :) i found the code on the website :) This program ROCKS!!! :D

  • all it says when i hit "Start Transfer" if ''youre eligable for a free copy of tuneswift available until march 15. then i need to enter an activation code...???

  • nice

  • Just figured out my iTunes had 30GB of music, that explains it!

  • Everytime I try to back it up, I get an error saying I don't have enough free space, which is strange, because I have 20GB of free space on the drive. How do I resolve this??

  • @submitor Feel free to contact our support team for further assistance.

  • @WindSolutions I also have this problem. I can't find a way to contact the support team, either.

  • @Xavygravy Please make sure you are using the latest version of the program and try again. Let me know how it goes.

  • @WindSolutions I found a solution. You simply have to change the directory of the iTunes library.

  • you man are an igenius my friend!
