You should try Azomite it works incredible. My worm got huge I was amazed they were 8' long.

Dunno if I wanna go at it manually with hammer. Think I'll go with Nipfreakcat's idea of granite mortar or try to hit my my local rock quarry. Thanks for the tip, tho!

you can get rock dust at a gravel pit or rock quarry for free somtimes

I don't use rocks... I have a granite mortar and what I do is I dry the eggshells thoroughly and I use about 2 tablespoons of the eggshell grounds and that seems to work fine. I do the ground egg thing once a month too unless I see that they really need it.
