I don't use rocks... I have a granite mortar and what I do is I dry the eggshells thoroughly and I use about 2 tablespoons of the eggshell grounds and that seems to work fine. I do the ground egg thing once a month too unless I see that they really need it.
I've been using dry and grounded eggshells, but I've heard people use vacuum waste and sand...

You should try Azomite it works incredible. My worm got huge I was amazed they were 8' long.

you can get rock dust at a gravel pit or rock quarry for free somtimes
