  • Increases in transportation, education and other needs are not required if there are no illegals.

  • Oh, I get it. This woman married a Hispanic and so now feels that we should all accept Hispanic illegal aliens into our midst. Lady, you are welcome to do whatever you want, on your own time, and with your own money. But that does not give you any right to tell society what to do.

  • Between LIVING here and having interest ( biggest reason) , the internet and TV ( big channel surfer), I have to THANK Eric & Annabel for reality. ( And from all that I claim , even reality TV, i.e. "cops" is manipulated but I know they do try and more than not, remain TRUE :)

  • It really looks like the Board is bored. They're sick of hearing about this. They now know that the Immigration Resolution has not only been a nation-wide embarrassment, it's been an economic disaster. The last thing they want is more attention, more criticism. Why can't their Chairman just let them forget and (hopefully) be forgiven?

  • Ms Almeda says something wise. She says let's put this behind us and move on. That's not a bad suggestion.

We love to talk. We love to watch videos of people talking. We've gone out and gotten economists, lawyers and politicians to talk about illegal aliens. We've set up blogs so we can talk more about illegal aliens. We send emails. We listen to other people talk and then talk some more.

So I agree with Ms. Almeda. Let's move on. Let's do.

  • I have a friend who is an anchor baby. The day after I met her, her mom was in the hospital. Nico cried in her room with her head in her hands. Her mom couldn't work for a few weeks. Someone slipped a couple hundred bucks under the door one Sunday morning. They eventually found out who he was because someone recognized the handwriting on the envelope.

He didn't talk much. He was a doer.

  • I know a guy who tried to teach English to immigrants. He tried and tried. That old man was a horrible teacher. He couldn't teach a Harvard grad how to say "cat". He tried for years. Eventually he found another way to help out.

    He was a doer.

  • And it doesn't have to take very much effort. I know someone who was stuck in O'Hare due to a flight delay. By chance some Karen refugees right out of the jungle asked him for help. My friend, with time to kill, led them to their flight and then asked the gate attendant to make sure they got on the plane.

    A doer.

  • @RalphNelson

    unlike you!

  • "I have a friend who is an anchor baby." ... The term "anchor baby" is hate speech. Just ask Eric and Annabel.

  • How do you think that makes her feel? Think about it for a moment. People telling a ten year old kid that her mom is a criminal. They tell her that the Constitution should be amended so that my friend would not have the same rights as her playmates. People say that my friend should be sent to a country she's never been to before.

Is it hate speech? Hell yeah it's hate speech.

  • Illegal aliens broke the law. If we put that behind us then perhaps we should grant amnesty to tax scofflaws and traffic violators as well. Heck, why not grant amnesty to all lawbreakers! We would save a lot of money in our courts and jails.

  • Tax scofflaws and traffic violators are often given amnesty, but that's irrelevant. This is our country, and we can do whatever the hell we want. If we think it's in our best interest to grant tax amnesty, then we can grant tax amnesty.
