@quintinebio Both Marillion and Fugazi got the name from the same book, it's just that Marillion got there first (this album came out in 1984, Fugazi formed in 1987). So Marillion probably have more right to be here, so that's why you're wrong. Maybe Fugazi fans should ask themselves why their precious post-hardcore band didn't check that there wasn't an album by a British neoprog band with the same name!!!

Although they struggled to shake off the Gabriel Genesis comparisons, which is hardly surprising, the first two albums are classics, and the section of this song beginning at 4:37 is as dark and haunting as any of the more street cred acts of the time. Also Grendel has to be worth a mention being a 17 minute masterpiece!

Saw Marillion when they toured promoting Fugazi back in early eighties, at the Manchester Free Trade Hall. Took my young cousin who had just got into their music with Script for a Jester's Tear. Absolutely brilliant, at the start of the gig 'Assassing' Fish appeared at the rear of the stage and slowly 'skulked' down a ramp towards the front of the stage, he appeared huge, all 17'-6" of him!!!

Hence, when Fish says 'The World is totally fugazi' he is referring to the state of the planet as depicted in the songs lyrical content. The word is actually an acronym, standing for "Fucked Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In" (as in, zipped in a body bag)
