  • 'cause that kind of band (neoprog) was a nightmare to them. Hi hi hi

  • fugazi is my best song

  • Saw this tour at sheffiled city hall...blown away.

  • It souhld be "marillion" by Fugazi by here. I don't like Genesis and all the copies of them...

  • Comment removed

  • @quintinebio Both Marillion and Fugazi got the name from the same book, it's just that Marillion got there first (this album came out in 1984, Fugazi formed in 1987). So Marillion probably have more right to be here, so that's why you're wrong. Maybe Fugazi fans should ask themselves why their precious post-hardcore band didn't check that there wasn't an album by a British neoprog band with the same name!!!

  • would be nice if someone could translate and post all song meaning

  • never saw them live :-(..... listen Hogarth's ,somehow I could not stuck to it, do I need to give them one more chance? :)

  • fuck those 5 gays

  • this world IS totally fugazi.

  • @marillionlover1 Yes, nowadays even more than in the 80's

  • best marillion album...........................

  • SUPERB!

  • Poetry to (very good) music:):):)

  • Although they struggled to shake off the Gabriel Genesis comparisons, which is hardly surprising, the first two albums are classics, and the section of this song beginning at 4:37 is as dark and haunting as any of the more street cred acts of the time. Also Grendel has to be worth a mention being a 17 minute masterpiece!

  • @CONSIDERABLYMORE1 , I like Genesis too but Marillion are way better , Genesis highlight Musical Box, peace

  • Koncert w ARENIE !!! To było przezycie!

  • The best of a great number of great songs by Marillion! Wonderful!

  • I'm discovering marillion, it's incredible. please recommend me more songs as this

  • @002uziel all of "script for a jester tear", "fugazi", "misplaced childhood" & "clutching at straws" for starters

  • @002uziel Misplaced Childhood, Scrip for a Jester's Tear, and Clutching at Straws. Enjoy!

  • This is absolute genius...reminds me of all mt teen angst in the year before doing my O levels in 1986...I used to listen to this in the dark feeling somebody, somewhere out there understood my - what I later came to realise was - depressive dark moods...superb. "drowning in the liquid seize on the picadilly line...."

  • This is fugazy Fugazi.

  • 1986.buba.d.m.were all going on a summer holiday.best ever bowl gig!

  • I never tire of this. Genius. I pity anyone who doesn't get the joy from it I do!!

  • first motorbike no worries.best album ever

  • Du génie

  • Best of Marillion - like

  • Why would anybody come to this site to listen to this song to give it a dislike. Go and find your own music. Beggers belief why you bothered. T

his is exceptional music which those people never understood.....thankfully.

  • @Fastolm because there's a band called fugazi and these guys dont even begin to compare to them.

  • @bodysnatcher1988 - Well bs I am not in a position to retaliate as I have not heard anything from this band....but always open to new musical ventures so i will give Fugazi a go. I suppose thanks for the new musical tangent is called for.

  • @bodysnatcher1988 How does pressing dislike encourage British Marillion and Fish fans - who are probably old enough to have actually followed the band in the early 80's - to pay attention to an unrelated US band formed after Marillion's Fugazi was released and from a completely different musical genre? That's the thought process of a moron to be honest.

  • a tremendous song from a fantastically good LP. Saw fish last month. he asked the audience if he should play 2 'pop' songs ( kayleigh / lavender ) or one 'rock' song instead? obviously we chose the rock song which turned out to be this epic acoustic version of fugazi!

  • Amazing song and amazing words!

What a fantastic lyricist Fish is.:)

  • Phenomenal

  • FUGAD UP ZITUATION

  • poor man's genesis

  • WOOOHOOOO!!! THIS MUSICS BRILLIANT

  • @MrTboy21 If you think Marillon is better than Fugazi I have one question. Are you homosexual? Serious question.

  • @gazz12345a coming from a country who's main economy is street begging.

  • @gazz12345a

Who are Fugazi?! FUGAZI is "just" this amazing song.

  • @gazz12345a What the sodding hell are you on about? Different era, different music and you can't grasp that. Go away little lad and leave the grown ups to play...

  • @gazz12345a

Are you homosexual?! NOt a question, "just" the answer.

Your face must be really crappy, beside being so gay.

    LONG LIVE MARILLION!

  • what is the name of the 2ºtrack??

  • marvellous takes me back to the playhouse in edinburgh

  • Fish was Marillion and Marillion was Fish. Separated they not the same.

  • While Misplaced is an excellent album and probably won greatest acclaim, Fugazi is my favourite album of the Fish era. I think it is the darkness.

  • @samwisegamgeese: i totally agree with you

  • fish at his best!!

  • fishy fishy fish

  • amazing, fugazi is one of the best album in the history of music, this voice and melodys aren´t from this world :D !!! but its so sad to see that this kind of songs and this kind of artist not known by everybody !

  • @Leon196735 do you mean era?

  • marillion a band of 2 amazing era`s, the political and the spiritual. dont fear change grow with it absorb and flourish and progress.

  • do do do do do do you realize,

do do do do do do you realize,

do do do do do do you realize,

this world is totally Fucked Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In..... FUGAZI.....

  • Marillion has reinvented the way to makes rock progressive, creating the Neo progressive!

  • Not many bands would have the confidence to use up so many ideas in what is supposedly just one song. Great song.

  • forditas

  • Saw Marillion when they toured promoting Fugazi back in early eighties, at the Manchester Free Trade Hall. Took my young cousin who had just got into their music with Script for a Jester's Tear. Absolutely brilliant, at the start of the gig 'Assassing' Fish appeared at the rear of the stage and slowly 'skulked' down a ramp towards the front of the stage, he appeared huge, all 17'-6" of him!!!

  • Takes me back to being 10 years old, I LOVED this group.. WTF happened to music eh >_<

  • Thank you dad for introducing me marillion when I was kiddie.

  • fugazi is nr.1

  • Awesome song. Fish is one of the few lyricists whose words I could just read as poetry without even listening to the song. Bt with the music it becomes sublime and heavenly. Thank you!

  • An all time classic. Legendary...

  • the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ever since i (re) found this track. I have had it on non stop. It's so encapsulating and it takes me on a journey to a happy place. Very Genesis like circa Selling England By The Pound. Which is no bad thing in my mind. Fish at his poetic best

  • Who is the retard that disliked this?

  • @goofyGAguy

    H?

  • @goofyGAguy

Hahaha.. probably he/she had not used to the new mouse at that time and clicked it on the wrong button. :P

  • @goofyGAguy not me!!!!!

  • I love this song, good album altogether. Agree completely that Fish era Marillion is where the magic happened, the Fish lyrics are sublime, as is his singling style; loved Misplaced Childhood and my favourite album was, and is, Clutching at Straws. Thanks for sharing this

  • Totally agree with you samwisegamgeese. Ferkin ace live with fish even though he was pissed as a fart.

  • To jest to!!! Nie jakaś doda czy inny śmieć tego rodzaju jak np Rap, techno czy coś w tym stylu, to jest ponadczasowe!!!! Kocham Meryllion, Yes, Sister of Mersi!

  • é do melhor...

  • Co tu można więcej dodać ,po prostu niepowtarzalne i jedyne w swoim rodzaju nagranie z najlepszego albumu jaki wydali.

  • @szczepan021 Najlepszy jest Script for a Jester's tear, bezapelacyjnie.

  • Stary dobry Marillion , to już 26 lat jak słuchałem ich w polskim radiu.!

  • F.U.G.A.Z.I.= F*cked Up, Got Ambushed & Zipped In!

  • @pepijnPendragonFan funny but i thought fugazi just meant all fu**ed up!!

  • @christina74xx Fubar is literally Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition! ....although I was looking for correct definition for..............Fugazi and found a military acronym that I didn't know....Fouled Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In.......but fugazi is (to a non-american military person) Artificial, fake, false. Can be in reference to a thing or a person. If a person it is usually in reference to a superficial person. Something that has no substance.

  • Genius !!!

  • Fugasi: derived from Fougasse. This was an improvised mine employed by US troops in Vietnam. Its effect was such that , when successful, its target was said to be, "Fugasi".

  • Fugasi: from Fougasse. This was an improvised, petrol-based weapon used by US forces in Vietnam. Once successfully deployed, the American troops would term the target to be, "Fugasi".

  • Fish is the king !

  • Mind blowing lyrics and accompanying instrumentals. How often do you see that nowadays?

  • FISH > Hogart

  • Encoe que DU BONHEUR<3<3<3

  • Like if you Love Fish!

  • breath of frsh air to hear this again still so good, if not better

  • fish is marillion and no one else

  • My head frequently feels Fugazi!

  • Jeden z najlepszych utworów Fisha z Marillion ! One from best song Fish with Marillion.

  • tremendous! saw this tour. great memories

  • Hogarth Marillion isn't even remotely capable of this. Maybe they could play it, but they could never write it. (No offense or anything, it's just a totally different band with the same name.)

  • fish is the best

  • Una vulgar copia del Genesis de los '70s

  • Great!!!

  • sooo awesome number-forever

  • sooo awesome number-forever

  • FUGAZI, mean's -- In a foolish manner.

I loved Marillion since I saw Script For A Jester's Tear Albumn cover for the first time.

I was intrigued and have like it since.

  • Sit down with a bottle of bud put on some old marillion (with Fish) tracks & all your trouble's disappear, But the sad thing is their are no new groups replacing these legends

  • @MrKwakanut cold wet circles

  • great music

  • I have been listening to a load of Marillion songs here (thanks ILoveAnnieHaslam) and I keep thinking "this one is the best, no this one, no this one". The truth is there are mostly all amazing.

  • Takes me back... You children don't even have a clue! No offence to the people who understand...

  • The term 'fugazi' was originally coined by American troops during the Vietnam War and means 'all fucked up'. Hence, when Fish says 'The World is totally fugazi' he is referring to the state of the planet as depicted in the songs lyrical content. The word is actually an acronym, standing for "Fucked Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In" (as in, zipped in a body bag)

  • Thanks for download this music!

  • For me, Fugazi is the best non-Misplaced Childhood Marillion song from the Fish era.

  • Polska nadal się kłania>

  • I really like this song. It has so much power in it. Right from the start they start building tension. Well done

  • From 6:40 on this song swing out from the pan.

  • My favourite from this band.

    *****

  • fantastic! Fish era Marillion is the most mind blowing music. THe guitar rifts of Rothery , Kelly's synths along with Fish' lyrics are pure poetry. It still makes the haris stand up on the back of my neck!

  • @evianfan Very underrated bass playing too. And the drums were always just right.

  • Best lyrics ever! Fish could publish a book of poetry. I certainly would buy it!

  • @thecrimsonfloyd

Watch out for the autobiography !!

  • any of you who said marillion died when fish left....know nothing !

  • love fugazi use to listen to it over and over...never got sick of it...1 of their best albums thanks

  • Marillion died when Fish left

    They are now bland crap

    FISH is the man!

  • @samwisegamgeese. Totally true but Fish has never reached the heights of talent that he did when he was with Marillion. I would still rather listen to a solo Fish song though than any post-Fish Marillion.

  • @samwisegamgeese , no shit brother i was well gutted

  • @samwisegamgeese I SALUTE YOU

  • @samwisegamgeese I completely agree. Last night I was listening to a newer Marillion song on youtube, and I was practically yelling at the screen saying what the hell is this? I was introduced to Marillion through Misplaced Childhood and immediately became a Marillion fan. Even Kayleigh which was a pop song was better than anything Marillion writes nowadays.

  • @TenderCrusade One song doesn't say it all - Marillion were an album band.

  • I agree

  • @samwisegamgeese But, Fish whitout the rest of the Boys was bland crap too, was't he?

  • @samwisegamgeese So says the old guy

  • i love the sound so much, the lyrics just stay in my mind.. still like my thrash, punk and Oi but i will never forget my youth...

  • Love the music but it is so difficult to understand for non native speakers. It's much easier to read ulysses.

  • Good comment!

  • keas2000, you're absolutly right. Love and respect to Fish. I saw this magic on live in Zabrze..... I don't remember exactly when - in 1986 or 1987....... It was ...... PERFECT!

  • This is what it's all about. Prog at it's absolute best.

  • Love and respect to Fish from Poland.

  • i thought all the polish had moved over here(scotland) everywhere i go there's polish people.

  • I remember their first venue in Paris Elodrado 1984 - we were all listenig again and again to their first 2 masterpieces : and were so excited to attend the gig! These were golden years!

Fugazi's HUGE and what a great sound production!!

  • I've listened to the band Fugazi for nearly 20 years. Had no idea until tonight that an album with this title existed. Interesting.

  • PURE GENIUS!!!

  • de la vrais muzique

  • saw them live, nottingham years ago, awesome. 25 years+

  • it just doesnt get any better, absolutley quality guitaring

  • Do you realize

  • The best Marillion track and album IMHO!

  • das waren noch Zeiten...

  • Man, I can't get over how awesome this music is. IMHO Marillion was better when Fish was still the lead singer. No dis-respect to Mr. Hogarth, I still love Marillion to this day.

  • time-warp!!!!!!!

  • FUGAZI!

  • "The Thief of Baghdad hides in Islington now

"Praying deportation for his sacred cow

"A legacy of romance from a twilight world

"The dowry of a relative, mystery girl..."

Haha, yeah, I still know the words, after all those years. I agree, it's good to be old. I&#
