The PURPOSE of Welfare is the support people in hardship until such a time that they CAN contribute. There are programmes, policies and inspectors in place to weed out people who make no effort to find work.

Dude, these protesters surrounded the police, so don't even compare these people to the civil rights movement, the civil rights movement protesters got surrounded by police and were harshly punished for nothing.
