  • Frank was !!OBVIOUSLY!! SO!! !!!!!!BORED!!!!!! in the live shows of his last 10 to 15 years, phoning in stupid CRAP just to make more money for his family so he could get back to his Synclavier and produce the fine music he truly wanted to.

  • Jesus covers the gods

  • Anyone interested in checking out an up and coming Band from Boston?

    Click on the link below.

  • lustig(im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes)!

  • I love this!!! RIP John and Frank. Or is it Frankie and Johnnie??

  • I am Mood Dis

  • This is Frank's room not Pink Floyds.

  • The word EPIC was created for Frank Zappa

  • Napoleon Fuckin' Murphy Brock!!!!

  • @dnteatylwsno9 That's not napoleon murphy brock its ike willis.

  • !!!!!!

  • The Beatles were the epitomy of the Hippie movement, you couldnt discuss, criticise or praise the hippy movoement in ignorance of the Beatles

  • @dpittendrigh What was sio hippie about them? I want to hold your hand? More like the boy band movement....

  • @backlund5 yeah bro, pink floyd isn't psychedelic, have you heard division bell?

  • @imulateprophecy have you heard the dark side of the moon, BRO?

  • @stevothemanlyman wow, smooth move..

  • @imulateprophecy what the hell are you talking about?

  • @imulateprophecy Division Bell isen't really pink floyd, that's just a Gilmour's album... Looking for psychedelic stuff? Go for Careful With That Axes Eugene (Live Version feels better)

  • @lumix1640 you people are stupid. who would claim pink floyd isnt psychedelic and use division bell as an example? thats almost as dumb as saying the beatles have no relation to the hippie movement due to the song i wanna hold your hand.... for future reference, in interwebs speak, saying BRO means you are mocking someone. usually through a very sarcastic medium. if YOU want psychedelic check out meddle and saucerful (or live at pompeii, which IS psych prog at its finest.)

  • @imulateprophecy I didn't know BRO, maybe because I'm not american...But why are you so aggressive? Calm down, go listen to Division Bell for example :)

  • @lumix1640 lol i despise that album. momentary lapse was the last in my book.

  • @imulateprophecy I quit listening after the wall. Never liked the final cut. The later stuff by Dave was good in its way but never set me on fire.

  • @imulateprophecy That was the most pointless paragraph I have read on YouTube in months. Jeeezus!

  • @dpittendrigh, The Beatles never was hippies, and hippies never was The Beatles...this fussion only was the image of a summer...

  • @gbrv75666 umm sorry but the john and george were certainly "Hippies".

  • I remember Zappa guested on a programme on BBC Radio 1 in the UK and he selected his favourite songs. This was one of them. He also played "Killer Queen" by Queen and "Cheap Sunglasses" by ZZ Top, as well as the obligatory Edgar Varese and Conlon Nancarro. Pretty diverse taste. I guess this is a tribute rather than a send-up.

  • @theCree With his witty and sardonic sense of humour, of course.

  • Nice to hear him not taking the piss for a change. Great musician!

  • no, you arent. John Lennon is.

  • Ah yes, Zappa was indeed a Beatles fan, and rightfully so. This is not a lampoon, but a tribute.

  • @vampyros1 You'd think if there was one Beatles' tune he liked, it might be I Am the Walrus.

  • @vampyros1 Not really. He's said the only Beatles songs he likes are this one, Paperback Writer and Strawberry Fields Forever.

  • @heylittlehouse Right, (shocking) Frank said a lot of shit that I don't necessarily buy. 'We're Only In It ...' was a lampoon, but I don't think the Beatles cared what he thought anyhow. Frank was great, but there were a few contemporaries that he damned well should have had an ear for. This one's a tribute though, not a spoof.

  • @vampyros1 Why can't you buy that? What reason would he have to lie? It makes sense to me, "Strawberry Fields" and "I am the Walrus" are pretty singularly unique songs and Zappa liked the singularly unique. Plus I highly doubt with his opinion of the Beatles that he listened to every song in their catalog and was probably just familiar with what was on the radio. Just because you and the whole rock establishment drools over the Beatles doesn't mean Zappa had to. And I agree, this is a tribute.

  • @heylittlehouse The honesty of FZ's quote is refutable by the mere fact that we're discussing it on a vid that's a "tribute" to a totally diff. Beatles song not incl. in your quote. FZ didn't have to search out the Beatles, they were everywhere. And yes, 'we all' drool over them because they were a genius-assemblage that was writing the book everyone else was tearing pages from to read. And they sure as hell weren't part of the "rock establishment"; conversely, that existed because of them.

  • singing is excellent.

  • JoeSzilagy - nothing could be farther from the truth Paul loved the album so much he asked Zappa if he could COPY the cover idea in some way shape form, for a Beatles record. nor was he particularly making phone of the record much of which he liked. he was making fun of the beatles FANS.

  • JoeSzilagy - nothing could be farther from the truth Paul loved the album so much he asked Zappa if he could COPY the cover idea in some way shape form, for a Beatles record.

  • This song and Paperback Writer were two songs Zappa said he'd wished he'd written.

  • Fantastic version- sounds like Frank really liked this classic!

  • @JoeSzilagy Actually he was making fun of the Beatles. He did it a lot. Check the cover picture on "We're only in it for the money". Paul was kind of pissed about that.

  • @Sunderlanding i think the same cause his singing is very poor in here

  • @Sunderlanding He wasnt makeing fun of the beatles, he was parodying the whole hippie movement for being a hypocritical waste of time.

  • @Glassandcandy Thus making fun of the Beatles, or didn't you get that far in school?

  • @Sunderlanding

What i'm trying to say, is that he wasnt targeting the beatles specifically. They were just caught in the crossfire.

  • @Sunderlanding the beatles were just caught in the cross fire. he was makeing fun of hippies in general.

  • @Glassandcandy If that's what you want to believe. It's no secret that he didn't think highly of them, and Paul was quite pissed about that cover. I really don't know how you can pretend to take it any other way.

  • 66 people only hated it because of the crappy quality, any other excuse and you'll be crushed by bono's ego as punishment.

  • Well, Zappa is just amazing. Nice to hear him do a fairly serious take on this song, which is also amazing.

  • The sad thing is I have this concert on a VHS tape, copied from an already was already copied.

  • eeeesh.

  • I am the egg plant

    I am the egg plant

    I WORK AT WALMART

  • u should write a song, like it

  • @3star2nr gabba gabba hey!

  • why would anybody wanna kick Edgar Allen Poe

  • @balzacraider furthermore ....why would you sit on a cornflake and get crumbs in ya jocks? Lennons an idiot ...that yellow matter custard was clearly puss . did i just snide?

  • Best cover of this ever was by Oingo Boingo/Danny Elfman. Who, by the way LOVED Frank. This was so awesome it took my breath away....

  • @mr5852 are you or any of the folks who geban this string nuts? genius' are never the same! these guys come from different places and experiences thier art must by definition be different, but to claim one is not close to the other is to insult both. Paul and John both worked with frank on projects and john even jammed live with Frank at a show. You cant really compare greatness in music. Longevity and variety of generations that enjoy the music is the test.

  • Jim Carrey should've sung this one with Zappa :)

  • Did anyone else notice that the singer isn't singing the song in the right order? Love the remake don't like the verses not being in order.

  • He's fat in this concert..

  • @tbag010 He isn't singing, you realize. He's the fairly emaciated-looking guy with the Strat in the middle of the stage at around 2:18.

  • Fantástic, je ne crois pas, ça sonne perfeit

  • Goo Goo Googoo-d'joob.

  • it's ironic that while i like zappa - and years before the dude's writing here were born but for all his 'training,' (Zappa was actually entirely self-taught) and his pretensions to serious 'composition,' Zappa's music will be forgotten while the relatively 'primitive' Lennon will probably be played several hundred years from now.

  • @caesarcerf I agree. I like Zappa's music too, but in many ways he's just so full of shit.

  • Zappa always IMPROVES on the original, absolute genius.

  • ZAPPA の あい あむ ざ うぉるらす ! (大笑) 、 I MISS FRANK!

  • His voice sounds like Oasis cover of this song in 2008 or 2009

  • Eh, the end is missing, right?

  • COO COO CA-MUTHER FUCKIN CHOO...i am the egg man.....drank so much i got egg farts..

  • Zappa is on record saying that he did not like the beatles music, except I am the walrus which he said he liked...

  • now thats a band

  • i was there...

  • Miss you Frank!

  • love it

  • hahahaha this is the craaaaaazzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Many Beatles songs have hidden messages in them. To find out what they are, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then on the main page of the contest, open The Present and read the section about The Beatles. Pass it on to every Beatles fan you can reach.

  • Don't you see this as a comedy! Frank has the best live orchestra, and do ing a parody of the Beatles! Who never did live gigs! Siting a smoking, a cig, like, hurry-up!

this song is so fucking long, I laughed during the whole thing! Just like the stairway to heaven thing! Like Groucho Marx playing out WW1! Funniest thing ever! Lighten-up!

  • @mr5852 you suck

  • @shadylimon We ALL suck ... : x

  • @caucus100 he said he would rather listen to the stones than the beatles.. "zappa lost interview" about 9 parts if i remember.

  • After Joe's Garage came the hearings, that is when he started his own label Barking Pumpkin.

  • @mr5852 Yea, Lennon is much better.

  • Who is that singing?

  • @timelytime It's Ike Willis!

  • And a disgrace of all writers of the dirigisme, whose separate activity not on verification of the reality on the destruction of the true talent is equipped-calibrated. This alone is their true, horrible gift.

[...]See how they smile like pigs in a sty, see how they snied, I'm crying.

  • f* yeah cleveland!

  • At the beginning of the movie Two Hundred Motels Ringo Star down the rope ....But Zappa wasn´t a big fan of English bands ... is an honor to have one of his Beatles hits sung by the great Frank Zappa. I apologize for my English, but you understood what I said! kkk

  • 667. The neighbor of the beast.

  • @gutternugget streets are organized in a way that all odd numbers are on one side of the street and even numbers are on the opposite side. With that in mind, 668, neighbor to the beast.

  • @ragbag5 True, but the beast could live across the street. I just got the little email notification for your reply and now I have no idea why I wrote that in the first place.

  • My mom's fiance, Jeff, loved Frank Zappa.

  • To all Frank Zappa fans... I apologize for my comment down there.. I love Zappa for sure, a great composer and musician... I'm sorry I mean it...

  • @frippvintage It was a mistake... wrong comment on the wrong video... that's it...

  • @frippvintage FRIPP

  • @99Maic No. Frank Crappa made movies.

  • @EndOfTimesApocalypse How about you just end your world and we'll all be happier for it Skeezix?

  • @kurtizzyflush Hello,

In newspaper with front page Obama victory, Illinois Lottery's draw was 666 on Page 2, Bible's Mark of the Beast, announcing Antichrist.

Also, people have remarked to me that Obama has numerous, severe head-scars. Bible states "Antichrist suffers mortal head-wound". Calculating the Antichrist's 42 months rule, starting from Obama's 11/4/2008 election, 42 months is May 2011.

Circulate to everyone everywhere it's good news!

  • @ObamasTheBeast Is every person in your family an insane racist or you the only fun one?

  • @kurtizzyflush Obama Marked by 666 no crap

  • @ObamasTheBeast Fucking hell man, I dislike the guy too, but he's not the Anti-Christ. How do I know? Well, Christ is fictional too mate.

  • @boomstick900 christ is fictional that' so lame to say

God is fictional? That would sound normal to say

    But Jesus? hahaha

u have no clue what I say

Obama's the Antichrist and his victory news front page was back to back with 666 on Page 2

    He's the 1

    No doubt is possible.

He's also revealed by being a life member of a gay club in Chicago. All know

  • @BeastObrahma Firstly, 665 is the real number of the beast - Iron Maiden are not to be trusted - get your facts right. Second, what the hell has Zappa got to do with Obama?

  • @wardrobesaviour get with it google: Obama v Kalachakra Endtime Armageddon

Do it now it's urgent and won't last at all

Do it fast and don't wait

  • @Birwapa ............ meh

  • @wardrobesaviour isn't it 616?

  • @WatershipCrown Reality is a mind altering substance.

  • @wallace7jefferson Wow! You fell out of the stupid tree and hit EVERY branch before your head hit the concrete.

  • @bartkus711 No it's Dean.

  • @1993Andr3w1993 What the fuck are you doing trying to communicate with people that have musical taste in something other than top 40 crap?

  • @frippvintage You're actually hearing the sound of your life boring us to death

  • @VulturesAwait You are more full of shit than a stopped up toilet at the State Fair of Texas.

  • @crimsonkng Stop trying

  • @Marinobrosproduction and your mother gave birth to a plain old fucktard. So what's your point?

  • @Aaronichi Good stuff!

  • @NewDirection4us Why? Just because the thought gives you an underwear knot?

  • lmao they're throwing underwear at them XD

  • WOw ...amazing ....generally I dont like covers of teh Beatles, but this is genius ... including the singer ...awesome ...

  • saw them do this in boston, Ike rules, many smiles. thanks for putting this up

  • who is Frank Zappa?

  • @michaelflorida56 Mr and Mrs Zappa's son

  • @michaelflorida56 now THAT's funny!

  • Zappa Fantastic!!!

  • Good that Frank never really held a grudge over the fact that Lennon fucked him over so badly at Philimore.Lennon was a cheeky bastard though so a lot of people let him away with behaviour that was not ok.At least Frank called Him on it.Both great figures in very different ways.

  • God, we miss you Frank!

  • zappa does nothing (ecxept being the creator of this wonderful performance). Who is the singer? He is great!!!

  • @amriirma

    The singer is Ike Willis

  • @amriirma Its Ike Willis.

  • Of course underwear is being thrown on stage.

  • @Ebenezerenkyoo at a concert my dad went to, they did that, and the bass player dressed up as a dildo., XD

  • Inspriational,a wonderful tribute to a fallen friend.

  • Zappa a true musical genius who is missed so very much on this planet!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK ZAPPA! (He would have been 70)

  • like it

  • thanks for the ones who did not listen to: no pictures, no recordings. again thank you.

  • Lennon always complained, "They always cover Paul's songs. They never cover mine." Well, it's the quality of the person doing the covering that counts Johnny.

It's too bad that John and Frank never did more together.

  • all 6 notes (haha) zappa played in this song has more feeling than the rest of the bands notes put together!

  • Comment removed

  • this is NOT Frank Zappa assholes!!!!

  • @lpgft LOL.. You don't know anything about Frank Zappa/MOI do you ? MR. Zappa is playing the guitar like he does so well.

Now run along while the adults chat.

  • @owl1970 He's actually playing the synth

  • @inhumanknight I like a sharp motherfucker like you. We may let you live.

  • @lpgft That's Frank Zappa in the center, the black guy singing is in Zappa's band.

  • Comment removed

  • @lpgft This is Frank Zappa Assholes after he dropped the Assholes part of his name.

  • the beatles killed rock n roll!

  • @CaptainPoonJab lol what?

  • @CaptainPoonJab you are a retard

  • Mr Muzzybrasher,The Beatles never pulled this off live because they quit touring in 1966...until Jan 1969,at the "Get Back" unofficial Apple rooftop concert.

  • Mr Muzzybrasher

  • Best than Oasis version

  • Zappa knows great music when he hears it......Zappa and Lennon are cut from the same cloth........

  • @SMITHFRANK i strongly agree

  • @SMITHFRANK cut from the same cloth.... i have to disagree, zappa wrote all the music for every one of his songs, lennon had 2 others to help not counting ringo =) oh, and their producer aswell.

  • @SMITHFRANK you should read about the concert the two had together. frank had some not so nice things to say about lennon after it was said and done.

  • I thought The Beatles were only in it for the money, Frank.

  • frank doin the beatles is/was a compliment.

  • how could you not film this until the end?!

  • I saw Frank on this tour. This was an encore and better than what he was selling at the time. Although a genius, he seemed to take a dive in creativity after Joe's Garage.

  • @Blues353 Another Wile E. Coyote Super Genius opinion from another musician no doubt.

  • I hope all these people realize Zappa is the reason for Sgt. Peppers in the first place which then resulted in The Beatles making even more like this song after that. Don't believe me? Look up Frank Zappa's Freak Out The Beatles were greatly inspired after hearing that album.

  • I am the walrus.

  • Zappa's not singing this, he's just the band leader. And the video cuts off before the song's over. General fail.

  • If anyone other than the Beatles can sing this song, it's a weirdo like Frank Zappa.

  • Kickasserole!

  • So did Frank transcribe this or what?

  • I used to listen to the 45 over and over. Noone else is doin' it so why complain. I got a bootleg of a different version, just a little slower

  • @saab96user ??????????

  • Great cover. Zappa's a perfect fit to do a version of this.
