I've watched a few of your videos and have really enjoyed them. I studied and spoke Spanish for a number of years. Then, I went to Brazil. Now, I have a lot of transference problems between the two languages. Could you possibly do a video comparing and contrasting the two languages? Thanks!

Prof. Jason: I was able to download all of your videos as mp4 files except this one. For some reason, the audio for this one is just noise (but only for mp4). I was able to watch it just fine on UTube, however.

Since it's just an intro, it's no big deal. Just wanted to let you know that some of us depend on the mp4 to down and review these files.

Having said that, I really do find your lessons helpful. I learned some Spanish in Quito, Ecuador when I used to visit. Thanks again! -Carey

is brazilian portuguese easier than european portuguese in the same way south american spanish is easier than european spanish?

It's true only with the Portuguese. Let me tell you that the European Spanish (Castilian) doesn't have the problems with pronouns like "LE" & "LA" or with the use of some articles. You'll have only 1 pronunciation.

For example when you say Caza in all southamerican countries is pronounced "Casa" like the "C" in "City" and that means house(Casa) and when you say Caza the "Z" has to be pronounced like the "Th" in "Breath"

"Me voy de caSa" = I'm leaving home

"Me voy de caZa" = I go hunting.

Yes. In Brazil they speak Portunol which is a mixture of both Portuguese and Spanish.
