As Director of this production, I feel the criticism levelled at the performers in this video is unwarranted. They did an excellent job not just in this song, but in the whole production - as evidenced by every single audience member leaving at the end with a big smile on their face having had a brilliant night out.

I couldn't be more proud of this cast, and refuse to stand by and watch them take criticism. Their characterisations were fresh and witty.

If you're gonna post something on Youtube, especially something like this don't be surprised and get all self righteous when people criticize it. It especially doesn't help that you took it so personally as to come defend their performance. If you're truly satisfied with their performance, act like it.

harsh, lol okay we aint brad pitt or oscar winning performance, but compare it to the original show and they hammed it up almost as much as we did and we had a lot less rehersal. plus making it almost panto made it more fun. I take your critique tho thank you. i will endeavour to be better

uh...have you ever read the script? the recording is different - it is written "fuck you, asshole," and even on the recording it's jerry who yells "MALCOLM," also as it's written.

and yes, i just finished playing malcolm a few weeks ago.

Yo dude. . .I am playing Dave right now in a professional production of this musical. IT says "Fuck you, Asshole" in the script. The Broadway cast changed the line to "Drop Dead, Asshole" for the irony.  Also, he is not supposed to do anything, he can play the character how he wants, that is his freedom as an artist. Congratulations on being a fan, but that doesn't make you an expert. Sorry to be blunt, but I had to say something to that.
