elliott had 2 gibson es-330's, a pre-1969 red one in standard tuning and a '69 or later sunburst one in open d (dadf#ad) (the difference between the pre and post 1969 is the fret at which the neck joins the body, the post at the 19th fret and the pre at the 16th, but that's probably more than you want to know).
Does anyone know whether this predates or follows the studio version floating around (v=Wp732QXNnk8) ? I'd like to know which one Elliott considered the closest to being finished. Thanks!
There's absolutely no dout that Elliott Smith was brilliant. The best of musicians and songwriters wish they could write even one song as beautifull and talented as his. He's right next to Lennon. He was a lone artist and comes through as if he were all the Beatles wrapped into one.
We are all blessed to have even come accross his music. The tortured soul he was gave us some of the best music we will ever hear. Genius!
I hope someday all of you will learn what good music is someday. I pity you all. Elliot Smith sucked then, sucks now and was a fucking junky. A true hero right? Let's all smoke $800 worth of crack, maybe you all allready have thats why you think this shit is "good".
I am a big fan, most of the most amazing musicians were junkies. And think really quick, cause you are ripping on a man who changed so many peoples lives. Including mind, and he is dead. So I hope like you feel like a very opinionated tough guy. Although you are a stuck up POS. So keep saying the same shit you always do. But it won't effect anyones opinion. So suck one Johnny Boy.
Go cry in a corner somewhere. Whine, whine, whine all the time. Just like your "favorite" shit slinger. Fucking emo kids. Seriously just stab yourselves all in the heart allready.

Fuck you.
Elliott Smith was (and still is) one of the greatest musicians to walk the face of the Earth.
And I bet you anything he's three times better then whatever you listen to.
And spell his name right next time, dumbshit.

Dude, what is your problem?
Just becuase we like Elliott Smith doesn't mean we're emo. In fact, I had an English teacher in middle school who liked him!
And I am NOT whining, I'm standing up for someone who helped me through a rough time.
And for God's sake, at least have respect for the dead.
