jones shot at becoming big, lazier's epic comeback, zampedri's essentially career ending crash (yes i know he raced after but never at this level), ongias' last 500 and more. this was an epic race and prob one of the last truly great 500's
@sennadesillva There have been a few good ones since, and it really looks like this year could be incredible. I was at opening day today and it was amazing. A buzz around the track, that there hasn't been in about 10 years.
To name a couple though, the race that Sam Hornish won on the main straight and last year's race were both very exciting.
Funny that the whole Split had happened in the background leading up to this race, and, judging by the crowd reaction when the man WITH A BROKEN BACK AT THE TIME passes Jones, you'd never realize this was supposed to be anything less than the 80th running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.
I'll see if the tape will still play. I should digitize it. Buddy was the best at the end of a long race as anyone. I have always been disappointed because he very easily could have won 2000 and 2004 when Sharp took his nose off in turn three. I think the toughest race he won was that first race at Dover. That track was so rough.

This race was a lot bigger than '95.

The blue #91 car picked up extra revs and passed Davy Jones for the win.

Does anyone have this race in its entirety, including the intro, that is willing to make a copy of it and trade me for something of mine?
