  • nice video!! thanks

  • Carvin cabs with a poor soldering job? Doubtful. Might be a different solder that doesn't shine even with a good soldering job.

  • I did enjoy the video!!!

  • HE SAID JACK-OFF!

  • Man a very Big Hug and thanks to your videos! its very useful especially to the people doesnt know how to upgarde or replacing their speaker.. cheers mate! tnx a lot!

  • @ lantyboy

I can vouch for the g10 vintage, as i own the vintage 30, the 12 inch version.

The g10 vintage is a 60w speaker as opposed to the 25w of the g10 greenback.

This means you won't get as much speaker breakup. Also, the g10 vintage is less warm, but has tighter bass, more midrange, and cuts through better. It's personal preference really, I hope I helped mate. What amp is it going in anyway?

  • Can you replace a 30 watt speaker with a 100 watt speaker?

  • celection g10 greenack or g10 vintage for metal tk??? or is there another make i have over looked that you might recomend???

as always love your vids NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!!!

  • thanks for the video. I'm about to upgrade my speaker in my superchamp XD and I've never done this so thanks for the instruction.

  • great vid

  • thanks a lot for the video, answered a lot of my questions

  • Great video I always wanted to know how to do this.

  • Is it possible to take a combo amp, bypass the original controls, throw in a new speaker, and make it a cab?

  • I believe you're referring 'slaving'. I know on some combos you can do it, so it silences the amp section and basically its just a speaker for use if you had another head or something and wanted to use the speaker in the combo. Just make sure the speaker can handle the power of the head and the ohms are correct

  • i have i custom built cab that runs at 4 ohms - how can i use it with the night train

  • good question. You want a Weber Z Matcher. I cut a vide on one ... watch this vid : /watch?v=5CJqWTM5zpo

  • i hoped you would go over ohms

  • where do u get ur switchcraft jacks becuase im buying an eminece govener for my peavey valvking 112 combo but i want to wire the speaker to a jack in the back of my combo so i can use it as a cabiniet for when i decide to buy a head

  • Soldered is better than those connectors. Nice clear video !

  • i have a vox ad30vt and it sounds shit think its the speaker want to change it i play sabbath, acdc, linkin park, led zepplin any suggestions for a better speaker anyone?

  • @deanosabbathfan Try G-12 Celestion greenbacks or vintage.

  • 6:33

  • Yes!! Thanks for making this.

  • Useful video, thanks for this. Now I just want to know about replacing valves!

  • He makes an important point in this video, boys and girls. If your speaker gets disconnected and you turn on your amp- you just blew your amp! It must have someplace to send the load...

  • lol the fuckin Google ad was "Is my husband gay?"

wtf does that have to do with VOX cabs? lolz

  • wanna sell that carvin speaker?

  • he should of just got greenbacks, they're cheaper than the red coats.

  • the nightrain looks like a lunchbox

  • @cheesnuggets123 that's why they are called lunchbox amps

  • the cable from the jack to the speaker is much too long, great demo though!

  • hell yeah. Eminence speakers kick ass. I loaded my Marshall 4x12 with their Texas Heats. BAD ASS SPEAKERS. I use it with a Peavy Valveking 100 head.

  • i don't think i got this info from the video. do the ends of the wire get soldered or just attached?

  • Does soldering make any difference? Especially since it's gonna be hidden all the time - who cares about the way it looks? As long as it passes the current - it's fine.

  • Hey King666 - I have had issues in the past, w/ bad solder joints. Even though it doesn' t move around in the cabinet - if the wire is held on by a tiny bit ... the weight of the wire alone can make for a bad connection. PLUS, the bigger issue ... since your amp needs to SEE load all of the time - it's a 'better safe than sorry' move for your transformer :-) (IMO) :-) Thanks!!

  • Gotcha!

  • another great vid, my friend!

  • Holy crud we're out of the Tone Lounge. Very nice video.

  • haha - that's called the Tone Living Room :-) I'm lucky I have a place to sit in the Tone Lounge, let alone to upgrade cabs :-) !! Thanks for watching!

  • whats your day JOB? :-)

  • just wondering if i can get some response but what do you people think of the peavey scorpion speaker???

  • I put an Eminence Red Coat Man-O-War in my Laney combo amp and it made a big difference, I really like it.

  • Thanks Tone King! You vids are informative. Keep it up brother and rock on.

  • hey i have a line 6 spider III 30 watt. i wanted to know is it only a 30 watt because the speaker is 30 watt or the amp itself can only handle 30 watts. i found a speaker that can handle 150 watts and i thought i could switch it out for a louder amp. would the amp itself blow/ not work/ or break if i replace the speaker with different wattage?

  • Your amp can't be louder if you change the speaker. If you have 30W amp you need 30W or more W speaker. If you change your speker to 150W speaker, the sound won't be so good. Speaker must be crancked to give good results.

  • THX i hate my line and i want/need another but i have a very low budget

  • buy something like tube amp (30W- it's much louder than solid state amp)

  • i need something louder cause i am in a band playing lead and i need something loud but yet cheap any suggestions?

  • 75watt peavey vypyr is a nice amp =P

  • then buy Fender FM212

  • The wattage won't make it louder but if he got a speaker that was more efficient it could. Although, it could also be a 30 watt speaker.

  • Hey arch, if your looking for a modeling amp get the Peavey Vypyr its a good quality amp, and very loud, i have the 15 watt, test it out at guitar center it has some good crunch/thrash tones

  • very informative! :)

  • Hey Tone king! What'da think would pair up nice with a line6 spider 3 15 watt? im trying to turbo charge my gear, and i dont want another amp because i only play at home.

  • Line 6 is crap. You should just get a new amp. Like a Blackheart or a Black Star amp. They are great low wattage tube amps for home players. Nice classic sound to them.

  • I dont want classic sound tho, i want thrash sound

  • Sound like you need a Randall. They have some great amps, but I recommend the RM50 combo in that case. Read up on it. I think you'll like what you see.

  • He already has a few Randalls, and just about every other amp known to man.

  • I'm talking to utuber351.

  • This video helped a lot, I'm going to replace my amp's speaker with a Vintage 30 so I hope it goes well

  • very nicely done

  • man, please continue always with this great videos, is very good and necesary information, very thanks!

  • My marshall avt20 does not allow the back to be opened lol so no upgrading for me

  • my amp keeps making A crackley sound what would be the cause like that? i realy hope its not my guitar, because the only place to get a guitar fixed is waltons and there a bunch of tick assholes who will scracth your guiutar :(

  • It's probably just a dirty jack. Go buy yourself some electronics cleaner. Not that duster spray but pc board cleaner. Make sure it's residue free. Spray that into your guitars jack and your amps jack. Make sure it's OFF AND UNPLUGGED(for at least an hour if it is a tube amp. Large capacitors can hold a charge for a long time.strong enough to kill you! ). Spray the volume and tone pots as well. If it's a strat style guitar you might want to take the pickguard off first to protect your finish.

  • thanks man realy apreciate it :)

  • A messed up imput cable can do that, and if you have a mobile phone in the same room as the amp it can also fuzz/crackley (Or so i've read in GuitarWorld magazine)

  • Thanks for another great video Tone King.

  • Great vid. I am thinking of getting a Vox 15CC1 for the EL34 tones and ordering an Eminence Red Fang speaker since the stock speakers are pretty much where they cut costs.

  • Nice video, thanks.

  • Anxiously awaiting your Night Train shootout videos.

  • Hope you aren't busy tomorrow night ... b/c the first will be released. The Night Train vs. The Tiny Terror. Almost sound like a horror film :-)

  • your vids are sicckk
