I saw Alex a few hours ago at Weiser National Fiddle Championship. Asked him why he doesn't get his 58 sec. version certified by Guiness? He said, "Because it costs $8,000!"
This is a lovely musical version, but a different version to the Guinness World Record version. Alex cuts a bar before the plucks and also the repeated high section before the end. His speed is around 185 beats per minute as opposed to 206 of David Garrett and 208 of Ben Lee.
He is therefore slower than David or Ben but still finishes in a shorter time.
Well David Garrett could go way faster if he did that picking part without delaying for, like, dramatic effect. Same for the ending. Maybe he'll come back.
But seriously, this guy is amazing. How come I haven't heard of him?
