It's the first song he records in the recording studio. Scotty, Bill, and D. J. Fontana are in the scene too as the musicians. He does it "bad" the first time, and "great" the second time. Then when they shopped it to Geneva Records, they stole his style and had Mickey Alba release it instead. That's when Elvis goes to his office and hits the Geneva Records guy a few times for stealing it from him.

As you know, this song as these photographs are from Elvis' 1957 hit movie "Jailhouse Rock". It's definitely one of Elvis' best movies. Elvis' co-star in this particular film Judy Tyler tragically died in a car crash very, very shortly after this film was completed. Elvis refused to watch this movie ever again and her death. Judy and Elvis both left us way, way too soon. Thanks a lot for re-uploading this video. It was great seeing it again. 10 Stars as always Jackie.

This is so sad. All along and through the years, I did not know about her death. I've seen the movie several times since I first saw it in 1957 without realizing that she was no longer around. Do you know if she had made some movies before Jailhouse Rock?

I don't think Tyler was a mousketeer, but she was on Howdy Doody (as Princess Summerfall Winterspring). Sadly, she was actually killed on her honeymoon.

I have listed it erroneously as April 30, 1957 on the title page. The version on the Jailhouse Rock EP was different; and was recorded on April 30, 1957 at Radio Recorders and was the version used in the film.
