  • You know, the whole 'approaching god robed in deception' is a more believable alternative explanation for Jesus. You see, Jesus saw what a tyrant his father was, and in order to fool his evil plans to torture everyone for eternity, he came up with the whole sacrifice thing himself to screw over his evil dads system.

Ignore all those biblical passages that contradict this. The devil can quote scripture to his own ends, don't you know.

  • How is Jesus 'the firstborn son of god', if humans are also children of god? I mean, Jesus had to be borne of Mary.

Oh right... that whole... trinity thing. The solution to, and cause of, all questions about christianity. *sigh*

  • I am a smooth man... my father "peradventure" will feel me... that's just the story of VFX's life right there.

  • Beautiful ending. I really enjoyed this series. Great work!

  • Macrocodes are the dumbest version of prophecy I've heard about.

I don't suppose apologists have ever learned of 'archetypes'.

  • But brett, you should know by now that Venon is insane, on top of being poisonous...

  • well at least venom never said, dog spelled backwards is god, well yet anyway.

  • Cool Report!

  • I have no doubt that Shawn is gonna make a fortune as an evangelist someday. Maybe then he'll make that donation to Sick Kids Hospital.

  • Many translations of Genesis 37:28 say that the brothers drew him out of the pit. I note that KJV and NKJV do not, and that no Hebrew word relating to "brother" appears in the verse. At the same time, the original texts were not punctuated or divided into verses (I believe), so it could very well have been the brothers who took him out, and the words "Midianites" and "Ishmaelites" refer to the same people. This is, of course, my analysis with a concordance, and I know nothing of Hebrew.

  • Destroyed.

  • I like the crossing of arms example I make a joke out of it like well Dog spelled backwards is God so a Dog is God.

  • The part where VFX links the crossing of the arms (X) with the cross of Jesus was hilarious.

  • Doesn't Shawn's ass get jealous of all the shit that comes out of his mouth?

  • @SantiBernhardt No, because peradventure it has so many pastor's dicks coming into it, it feels very satisfied.

  • Has Shawn made any responses to your critiques?

  • Esau = Bigfoot. lol :]

  • Well, given the general archetypes of human tales... your conclusions would make sense. And that all the cultures in the area borrowed from and lent to each other...

  • Pity that someone as intelligent as Shawn (though clearly suffering from some emotional disturbance) spends his time and energy on this crap. And all for nothing. The New Testament was written by people intimately familiar with the old, thousands of years after the old. They clearly backed into it. And I don't see the need to prove that the Old Testament has all this code in it anyway. What does it prove?

  • @mhender668 "...backed into it..." Love it!

  • Maybe it's his silly accent but did I hear him correctly. Did he say Eeyore, as in the donkey from Winnie the Pooh?

Never underestimate the level of stupidity displayed by Homo creationalensis. They are prone to mix and match works of fiction.

  • It's so sad to think that if this boy had picked up a Carl Sagan book or video instead of Kent Hovind DVDs, he might be contributing something to the world right now instead of slowly driving himself mad with these weird, conspiratorial interpretations of the bible. Religion, if taken seriously, twists minds until all logic and rationality are gone.

  • LOL, what a deluded arrogant bastard Shawn is. At 2:40 you can hear him say "how, WE, the church, receive..."

His personnality disorder's not cured yet...

  • Another fantastic series. Any hints on what you're working on next? (he asks in rapt anticipation)

  • SHAWNNNNNnnnnnnnn...to quote Creationist Cat

  • _-_ z z z z z z z z z z z stupid bible, so boring.

  • Such a shame, i love vfx artwork but his apologetics will drive him insane :(

  • 22:38 made me laugh out loud. Josh, if you read this: is the cool 'X' in your nickname also a secret macrocode for the Holy Cross? Of course you couldn't use a '+', for then it would be too plain and thickies could learn it too easily, eh?

  • At its heart, this is the combination of two phenomena. First, the human brain is such that it recognizes patterns. Often times, this can result in false positives; seeing a pattern when one does not exist. This is combined with the confirmation bias at the information gathering and interpretation stages (he even exhibits such a bias at the stage of recollection; i.e. "lamb's" blood). (cont)

  • (cont) Now, as for the first two, we often refer to this as "cherry picking." It would be harmful enough to fail to recognize such errors and biases; but more often than not, we see theists encouraging and building upon these flaws, (emotional reasoning could be used as an example) meaning that it is inevitable that one's conclusions will not reflect reality.

  • @naejimba Sort of like one of our ancestors mistaking the sound of thunder for a really big sky creature and then building from that over the generations a religion which mistakes natural phenomena and coincidences with supernatural activity...

  • @naejimba Steady on. I bitterly object to you classifying VFX in the same species as the rest of us humans. I'll grudgingly concede that he is in the same genus Homo but wise he most certainly is NOT!

I propose we call him and his kind Homo creationalensis and relegate them to sub-human status. Let the comparative vivisection begin. Can I cut him up now please?

It's better than using distant relatives such as chimps. Please, can I?

    Nobody will miss him.

  • @SissingPyd, I suppose I will take this as humor? If not, you would be displaying the cognitive distortion of splitting.

  • @naejimba Google the term "Taking the piss."

  • Snap, Crackle and Pop are macrocodes for the trinity.

  • @beakeclipse You are the Messiah....I will follow you.....Have you been a very naughty boy ?

  • I have discovered that striking my forehead with the palm of my hand exacerbates my experience of tinnitus. When Mr. Karon claimed to "imagine" that Joseph had been trapped in a pit for three days, my tinnitus was, soon after, exacerbated.

  • This was like watching an excellent episode of Columbo, .. in the final scene, the killer thinks he's got away scot free, .. Columbo walks away to the door, .. then suddenly stops and turns, .. "Oh, by the way" . . .

  • Sean wants his own church and his own cult, of whch he wants to be head prophet. He needs watching. Carefully.

  • Of course VFX demonstrates the biggest problem with the bible. It is not a simple and plain factual account of reality. It is a bunch of allegory and metaphors, with to much room for the reader to project their personal desires on the characters. The bible is little more then a series of slightly entertaining stories written so long ago that it lack any modern worth. It should be put away on a shelf with the rest of the fictional text from the same time period. VFX is to subjective on the issue

  • You forgot the blatantly obvious. Let's suppose for one minute that the "macrocode" idea is all true, and that the Joseph story is really a preview of what's going to come.

What if the opposite really happened? What if the story of jebus was copied on the story of Joseph?? Some Atheists actually think this is the case.

  • Never mind, you did mention this at the end.

BTW, Shawn's idea reminds me of C.S. Lewis who also hints to some kind of foresight in ancient texts. The difference is Lewis thinks the pre-bible mythologies contain details about things that will happen later. (It can't possibly be that the authors of the bible copied details from older mythologies!)

  • @AtheismTV No, I covered that, if only briefly, in the conclusion. NT patterns (if there are any) of Jesus's story were taken from the OT and not vice versa. In other words, the NT authors combed through the OT in search of ways to connect Jesus with these older stories, not that the older stories prefigured (in a prophetic way) the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Christ.

  • @brettppalmer It's ridiculous the way some people point to OT to back them up (theologically), but when you mention the OT condoning slavery, infanticide, etc, then 'the OT doesn't count'.

This macrocode nonsense would be a form of gnosticism, and if they were half a millenium in the past, they would have been excommunicated and labelled heretics for false teachings.

It's the biggest shame that they condemn secularism, which is what gave them the opportunity to openly reinterpret scripture.

  • the art of crushing someones argument really really thourghly but taking enough time to hear the omminous crack and crunch of every last darn syllable in the process. Pure genius.

  • very very good series. Too bad VFX never will respond, or even care about truth.

  • One dislike... hmm; I guess Shawn watched this.

  • Brilliant! Thanks for taking the time to make this (and your other) videos.

  • any christian who dislikes this video can be considered to be part of the deception and cloak of lies.

  • This is the only video of the series that appeared in my YouTube subscription inbox. I could still access the first two but only after a quick search on your channel. Has anyone else shared this problem?

  • I have found a mysterious macrocode I had a full glass of wine then I looked and most of it was gone. Perhaps this is the way the Easter Bunnies find their mysterious forest. Further research is required before I go into greater detail. Perhaps Elves have something to do with it, but is still a working theory. ;-)

  • @MistressArte HAHA That's a fantastic theory, but clearly neither elves nor easter bunnies are responsible for the disappearance of your wine. The real culprit is the dryad who steals wine from unsuspecting glasses because alcohol has the opposite affect on dryads than it does on humans. The dryad needs to sober up...

  • @gambleor Damm those bastards!! How do you stop or kill them? T___T Stealing someones wine is an affront to humanity T___T

  • @MistressArte You gotta talk to Bacchus and set up a Bacchanal ritual. It's the only way.

  • Bret, you should demonstrate your conclusion in another video. Pick a random fictional book, and play the part of Shawn just for shits and giggles. I'd love to see you make your own macrocodes to show how truly ridiculous this concept is.

  • The christian god is basically a blind old man that can be easily deceived? Wow, VenomfangX's theology sure is persuasive.

  • There are other stories which can be drawn from the bible if they are connected to sources outside the bible. One thesis comes from Joseph Atwill: /watch?v=g40Eck6gW7U

He came to the conclusion, the romans invented jesus to pacify the occupied jewish provinces and to promote their caesar as the saviour.

Sounded conclusive to me; although I did not check all his sources.

  • There are no macro-codes, only micro-codes!

I was listening recently to a series of lectures about ancient Egypt, and apparently the story of Joseph is interesting to an Egyptologist. It contains many details about ancient Egyptian culture that ring true, so the author(s) of the story probably had very good knowledge of Egypt at the time. This of course doesn't mean that the story is true though...

    Great work with this series!

  • if anyone wants to see the two stories of Joseph in the Documentary Hypothesis, I have it in my Documentary hypothesis playlist. my name is Yusef @JohnTheHutDweller Peace to you

  • venomfangx is a modern western christian he has nothing to do with historical christianity

  • @EdwardHowton : I really don't think you're right here. I think VFX is well aware that he talks BS, and that he does it because he sees how much money there is to be made, by being a preacher.

  • @anmad04

I wouldn't put that past him. He certainly has shown a strong streak of dishonesty.

  • man there are a lot of dicks in the old testament, even when they're portrayed as the good guys :P

  • So the bible is literal save for when it isn't... and it is literal when it's also allegorical so it can mean two things with the same passage?

  • More Christian fan fiction from Shawn.

  • I'll bet Shawn thinks "Under Pressure" was a divinely inspired macro-code for "Ice, Ice, Baby" too.

  • @gatorboymike LOL... indeed.

  • @finderfinder100 No kidding. He finds vaguely similar stories in the Old and New Testaments, and his first and only thought is "the Old must have been divine prophecy of the New!" Never once does he consder that the New might just be plagiarizing the Old. You would think, given Shawn's history of plagiarizing Kent Hovind's material, that would occur to him.

  • great video

  • Very well done. Clear concise and a well deserved kick in the testies!

Perhaps VFX is just compensating for stereotypical low self esteem.

e.g. No attention from father, wasn't breast fed, small penis, perhaps gay ( though there's nothing wrong with that) , competing with father for mother, bullied in school. Visions of grandeur, the delusion that he is chosen for a special purpose etc. I realize this seems adhominum but he really seems mentally disjointed. Hope he gets help.

  • I think the final nail in the coffin is when one of us knows the bible better than sone of them. Oh wait, I think there is a verse that says the the devil will do that. Oh well, thanks Brett you make excellant videos

  • That "macrocode" is not about a type of Jesus it is about two nations as symbolizing the dual covenant that was wrong.

  • He stole that from the letter of Barnabas and got it wrong

  • macrocodes are stupid like Justin

  • Macrocodes are from Justin Martyr, they are also called "types".

  • If only more people saw these videos.

  • i used to watch FX videos until i took a cross to the knee...

    sorry couldn't resist...

i promise i wont use this again...

  • a creationist cherry picking information... im so surprised that... oh screw it i cant say that with a straight face lol

  • Bible memes. LOL fail

  • This series is amazing! You have a lulling PBS special kinda voice. Thank you. But please, oh please, stop with the VFX stuff. Part of me thinks that even he thinks what he says is BS. After the whole Joker video debacle I can't look at him the same. I want to get him help, mental health type help.

  • @HadesAlison Yeah. TBH he might even just be a troll looking for attention, and has gone way too far.

  • @Halflifefan54 I believe it! Its just so sad. OOOO There, I send him many atheist hugs. LOL!

  • over-interpreting at its best. This happens to much with apologists.

  • funny cause unless he takes the original and re does his theory it doesn't even make any sense

  • VFX makes thing far more complicated than it needs to be

  • @finderfinder100 I think he's trying to compensate for his brain, which is far simpler than it ought to be...

  • @ScrewballB you might be on to something there

  • @finderfinder100 All pathological liars weave a tangled web. ;)

  • @finderfinder100 An interesting statement. I think it's incorrect, however.

Shawn is forced by his inability to think critically about his beliefs to make things excessively complicated in order to justify said beliefs.

By creating (or brainlessly swallowing) extremely complicated bits of nonsense, he gets to the point where even he can't keep his shit straight, and so can rest in the comfy, warm glow of his incomprehension and just believe.

Bliss is Ignorance to an idiot.

  • @finderfinder100 Which is ironic, given that he has a hard time understanding many things even when they simplified with him in mind.

  • woot
