That GPU is amazing! Btw i dont know if you can help me but does anyone know what motherboards do? like how is one motherboard better then the other? thats what i want to know, i know the obvious like holds more ram better outputs, but is that it? or is there more to it?
@davdua1991 I have a 550 and it's great for me. I do intend to upgrade the next time I get some money together, but the 550 is more than good enough if you don't wanna spend too much on your gaming rig.
Thats what Im here for! (P.S. I might burst your bubble but last time I tried recording on the Caspian Border map I had about 15FPS and it was laggy at times. Without recording it is still great and smooth!)
@AltirisX Well just going off what you have said and shown, it seems to be running at a decent frame rate. If I was to turn shadows down and AA off it would run smoother. The video card seems to handle itself nicely even while being pushed very hard.
Outside of recording is it able to maintain at least 30fps?
@GreenPineappleSk8 The card I have (gtx 550 ti MSI version) is pretty large. It takes up two expansion slots. The expansion slots are the rectangles at the back of the computer case. You also need a PCIe x16 2.0 or 2.1 slot.
@gezgez2 If your processor is at least a 4 core cpu then yes. (I didnt search because I am on my iPod). Also, I would suggest the 550ti MSI version. That is the one I have.
@gabrieldbz13 Im not sure what would happen if you used 2 550TI''s but if you used one the. You should be Able to run on ultra with no lag. (CPU speed should be around 3ghz or more) and if you have. Not bought the ram yet see if your motherboard supports 1333mhz of ram, if it does get 8gb 1333mhz just for a minor upgrade to prepare for the future. I would stick with one 550ti, I have heard 2 GPUs are t always as good. Written on iPod 4
im really happy to see the 550ti running this game as well as the video shows it to! im ditching my consoles to return back to PC gaming after 10years and on my budget I decided on a 550ti but was unsure of the performance on BF3. so thanks again
Not exactly sure, if it is a Quad Core it should run on Ultra settings and possibly with 1920x1080 res. My Core i5 is 3.10ghz but it goes to 3.40ghz so I would say you should be able to play on MAX. Just remember that I don't know much about AMD processors so keep asking around. I would say to get a 560 TI rather than an AMD 6870.
@AltirisX Hey mate, thanks for your reply. It's a Hexa-Core (6-Core) CPU. I would like to play it on Ultra because I already have BF3 for my X360 and it wouldnt make any sense to buy it twice without a good reason. I'm searching for a cheap GPU to handle it on Ultra. PC graphics are just amazing.
What was the fps and i have core i3 540 and i am planning to buy 550 Ti i will play at 1280x1024 resolution will i able to fully max the game ultra what ever Anti aliasing every thing except resolution i play at 720p resolution because my lcd dont support more :D and i am happy with it
Not really sure, your Core i3 should be good, I know you will be able to play at 1280x1024 or higher, maybe not max the entire game but a lot of it. I need to see how this game runs on my Core i3 370M first, then I can tell you how good it will run.
@TheGHXL beta is different, they didnt optimize the game for fps, and some games most likely everyone experienced half fps to what they have in other servers from the beta. its the new drivers, but they all work alot better for the full game.
You should, your core i3 2100 supports Hyper threading. While some maps are bigger than others you may experience some lag. I would recommend getting a Core i5, the Core i5 2400 which is the one I have is good and fairly priced for $189.99 its SUPER fast at exporting videos in adobe premiere pro.
I always hear people say that higher resolutions effect gameplay and its better to use lower resolutions, I honestly think thats BS. I have always played with my native resolution and I have always played great. Unless maybe your monitor has a higher res than 1920x1080 then you should be able to play with your native res. As for the settings I can't really say sorry, I would rather not say anything then give you something that could be false you know? Maybe you could play on High
@AltirisX Thats how much you know about computers... Higher resolutions need stronger machines because they have more PPI (need to show more pixels per inch).Higher resolution = lower fps
Im obviously not a computer programmar/coder, but with my own reference I can always play games on Max settings and full res. and it never impacts my frame rates or gameplay. In other words what I am trying to say is in my experience of gaming, setting the resolution to high never really dramatically changed my gameplay in a bad way.
Will a gtx 550ti run BF3 on low 60-70 fps at the least?
