  • lol I think everyone of us dancers hit that ending split just from the momentum itself even if you didn't have it at the practice earlier that day ;]

  • 2:15 judges say: Ok Dartmouth, you win.

  • awasome!!!!!!

  • @notfinishedhere0 yeah every single snare player in that line can play traditional trust me im in the dhs drumline but heres the thing the play matched because mr. aungst likes it so it allows all the students to switch from instrument to instrument not only in the line but also in the front ensamble. So bassically a tenor player could play snare or bass if they wanted to or vice versa

  • Match grip is for pussies. Learn how to play snare.

  • @notfinishedhere0

    you are an idiot

  • @notfinishedhere0 Your mentally ill, right? You must be. Because im assuming that you are mentally ill, i wont tear you a new one.

  • East coast baby! The west claims they have this activity...I beg to differ.

  • @sniggitydebo Arcadia.

  • i love how you showed the pit....no...

  • @stupidjuvie101 the camera dude shouldve showed the pit cuz they played the first 15 or so seconds of the show

  • you guys have insane props and great ge

but i personally like ayalas music better

  • i like these guys for the fact that people hate they play matched and they will still kick ur ass! nice

  • honestly i liked chino hills music better but dartmout was much cleaner but i hate matched grip snares and i know most of them cab plat trad.

  • I SAW there 2010 show there all jail mates. nice show

  • @drumlline123 it was awesome

  • Dartmouths show was cleaner and it was more difficult than Chino Hills thats why they won. Altough I think Chino should have beaten Center Grove.

  • What is the name of the songs they play? I know the first circle but need to know from beginning until the part with the tambourine solos

  • This is creepy, but pretty cool.. LOL

  • Chino Hills is so way much better!

  • hell yea

  • matched ( or american) is better for the versatility

  • If a group had this much scenery and stuff and they didn't win, that would pretty much suck.

  • The only two things I don't like about dartmouth are how they play matched and how they always have the entire color guard in their shows. But whatever, just opinion.

  • That is NOT the colorguard. I am in the colorguard, and I am not in that. That is the dance team. They perform solely with indoor.

  • @caseydiaaa ok, my mistake then. well the entire dance team then haha.

  • @PeanutButterGorilla whats wrong with matched?

  • Comment removed

  • too much visual :/

  • Dudes! I performed here! I thought they were aliens at first but then one of their band parents told me what it was about. Great show!

  • so why are these guys match grip players n not tradtional

  • Why do you care? If it sounds good, who cares? That's like saying "that was the best meal I ever had, but it's too bad the chef held the spoon a certain way when he cooked it".

  • im not saying its bad dude

im mean the drum tech is good on traditional since he works with cadets what wrong with teaching these guys traditional its more like a curious question

  • Well, one, there's a reason why it's called traditional grip. Playing match certainly doesn't do these guys any favors if they want to play in corps or in most college drumlines at least for the snare players.

  • @cadge31 Haha, well put :]

  • matched is wayyyyy cleaner

  • idk but i dont like it

i really dont care about the schools who use it i just dont like it

  • well the thing is that aungst wants everyone to be able to play as many instruments as possible on the line and using match allows them to transition easier from instrument to instrument than traditional does

  • ohh yeaa? thats cool soo snares could play tenor or bass or tenor or bass could play snare? or pit that kinda thing

  • Ehhh...match is ugly but I guess if they're clean thats all that matters. Tom Aungst always chooses the weirdest shows lol.

  • thats what Tom Aungst brings to the table

  • When anyone tries to talk crap about match gripped snares, I tell them to shut up and watch Dartmouth High School.

  • lol me 2

  • omg they are so incredible

  • is this not the coolest show ever?

  • We actually dont have a very big budget...just a very commited team of parents and a lot of fundraisers...my dad designed and made the props.

  • what class are they scholastic world?

  • Yeah.

  • Sweet

  • i hate to say this, but i think they used a little too much cow bell. usually id be asking for MORE COWBELL haha. but who am i to judge, ive never gotten a world class medal =(

  • I love watching weeds run across the floor and Adam breakdancing!!!

  • Did you see both shows?

  • Amazing show, wish all indoor lines had the same budget they do.....heh...

  • Excuse me You have six minutes to put a show on they put so much in the show it's just amazing. Have you ever seen the movie the ten comandment? that's not biblically correct either. Great show You are world champions. 11 yrs 11 medals bravo

  • mmm.... The First Circle... gotta love Pat Metheny...

  • I think that Dartmouth needs to re-read the book of Genesis because last time I checked, Adam and Eve didn't break dance and it was Eve who ate the fruit first, not Adam.

  • 2 things. 1, bboying (breakdancing) is a style of dance.. so i mean Eve can be a ballerina but Adam can't be a bboy? It's not about the style of dance, it's what you DO with it in the show that matters. 2, adam and eve were also banished from the garden in genesis. I think the designers of the show had these ideas in mind and intentionally changed them, because the overall change is far too obvious to merely be overlooked.

  • TENORS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rad music. missed dayton this year.

  • this is great, but honestly center grove was better and a little cleaner

  • i liked the show other than the fact that it looks like your moms made you dress up like that

  • The judges differed from you guys. GE was perfect score. that never happens. check the recaps

  • .2 away

  • I was there and agree with you and the judges 100%. Everything about this show just blew me away.

  • I was in the Barnstable drumline and I want to say congrats on being world champs 2 years in a row to Dartmouth!

  • Great stuff, but there's just too much out there. It's almost distracting from the line.

  • Love the music, but the visual was too unecessary and after a while the show gets really old

  • mmhmmm

  • xD Good job sneaking the camera into the Dayton Arena.

  • My school, Portsmouth High (Check Scholastic Concert Open) is about an hour or two from Dartmouth, so we got to see this show at -every- -single- competition. It's fantastic and pretty clean and stuff, but god does it get old after a while.

  • Ya i marched for my hs and i got to see their shows from either the side or from behind but it was REALLY intricate and at some points confusing because they do have a really good drumline and the colorguard stuff kind of took away from that but no big. Good show.

  • Well a panel of 6 WGI judges disagreed. They cleaned house. Played better then n e one else. This video is not a very good representation either.

  • I dont like this show too much going on man i guess they deserved the gold medal though.

  • they're cool, but i dont like how they use dancers and matched grip for the snares... =/

  • Congrats! I was waiting for some video on this years show... GREAT JOB to everyone!

  • It was even better up close. Congrats on 1st place.
