  • this is the only drum duet I've ever actually enjoyed. So musical and neither player is trying to outshine the other.

  • I love GAvin's drumset. Small size toms.

  • These guys suck, they can't even play in time with each other! *trollface *hides in corner and cries quietly

  • That beat displacement Gavin did in the first couple minutes was soooo sick! These are amazing videos.

  • NOT A SINGLE FLAM.... GJEZUS::.........AWESOME!

  • 4 sujetos estaban buscando baterias pero para carro!!!

  • @juanfecruz ooo malisimo

  • I love this; two master craftsmen at work together.

  • Aw... Simon's a wee little chap! He looks tiny standing next to Gavin.

Seriously, though, fantastic duet. One of the most musical drum duets I've ever heard. Two absolute monster drummers.

  • Damn. Drum duet of Simon a Gavin is just purely genius idea!

  • What kind of retard can dislike this video?

Oh yes! those Travis Barker/Joe Jordison militants...

  • @DJTrancenergy Dont forget Cobus

  • WORLD CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • 5:47 Space Boogie, by Jeff Beck

  • This is exactly what a drummer wants to see. Simon Phillips playing with Gavin Harrison.

Combine those 2 and create the perfect beat.

  • I love that 0:57 part! sexyyyyyyyy beat.

  • wait a minute, where they put their sync-link cable? In the first part I heard ONE and one only snare sound!!!! no glitches, no flames... perfectly in sync, then a perfect time shift.

    They are not humans

  • 2 PEOPLE ARE JEALOUS

  • the best

  • how they remember all that...far out

  • Sound Of Muzak and Hot For Teacher

  • 0:57 Drum-ception!

  • Haha, guitar centre drum-off. EPIC FAIL!

  • Genios

  • i dont like the drums of simon phillips , allthough he is one of the greates drummers in the world

  • @crackoish you don't like the drums?

  • Sound of Musak

  • @eduparis30 *Muzak

  • @eduparis30 one of the best groove ever...

  • A bit like King Crimson's B'Boom...

  • @bloggulator

Well, you will be as astonished as i was to hear that B´Boom indeed is based on a Gavin Harrison- Drum-Pattern :)

  • Man this sounds good with some decent headphones. Nice with some clear sound on a youtube video for a change.

  • SO MANY SEVENS!!!!

  • They stood next to each other and I thought to myself, "Simon! You're so tiny. I never would have guessed!"

  • The Sound of Muzak drum only instrumental?!? Typically I don't curse on public comments, but that was FUCKING brilliant!

  • 0:56 drumception

  • @adrianxinx210

    LOL..True! Great comment!!

  • They're fucking atomic metronomes. God daamn

  • what a shame, just around 39000 people have watched this super awesome, mind blowing drum solo... with an other worldly sense of co-ordination !!!!!!

  • that was really cool!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha I'm glad I'm not the only one to realize that was the groove from the sound of muzak right away...makes me feel like less of a nerd

  • unbelievable, really..

  • world's 2 tightest drummers.... wow.

  • 1 gay

  • @Alefeneves1 How do you know he's a gay? lol He might be a hetero or be a female lol. You'd better try to find another word that allows you to express your thoughts and does not insult people with a different sexual orientation. I must add that I am not a gay and I love the video!!! :-)

  • @adriank9 1 defecated. Melhor agora?

  • @Alefeneves1 better now

  • @adriank9 Who´s gay?

  • @paps800 dunno, you'd better ask Alefeneves

  • gavin is so much more musical and interesting than simon

  • @antibulletdodger101

two big masters, but the concept is diferent...

Gavin play for the band and Simon ist a solo drummer

    is only a personal opinion...

  • @HeartofNONO Yes simon is a solo drummer thats why he plays for toto. Very smart of you.

  • @HeartofNONO Simon is one of the best studio drummers anyway. He's able to take his studio sound up on stage live. His open handed technic is also one of the best of the world.

The sound and the art of playing live at this solo shows that Simon style is much better for groups as Gavins because Simon also is in the background with a clear rythm. Harrison is the one who plays much more soloparts while Simon makes the Groove. Not only a personal opinion but don't take this personally ;)

  • @antibulletdodger101 so very true.....

  • Simon is a master.

  • Es una locura lo que tocan , De ves en cuando nos juntamos y tocamos un rato los tres

  • the video quality is great

    the drumming is great

    the sound is great

    THIS IS PERFECT!!!

  • Man.. Spot on drumming.. I don't see Simon listening to a click! Amazing!

  • oh man they are so TIGHT.

  • It's not Hot For Teacher, It's Space Boogie by Jeff Beck.

  • @porthos08

Indeed , Sir. Somehow noice to hear it here, at the same time it comes across a little..lame? to dig out such an old pattern..

  • @zebonaut Perhaps a bit lame but still, it's possibly the most famous groove he ever played so why not play it? It mixes groove and technique prefect.

  • @RobResource

    True.fair enough ;)

I would have loved Toyah´s "Castaways"-groove too , but i seem to be the only one who loves that groove & song ;)

  • Makes Phil Collins and Chester Thompson look like ... well, you tell me.

  • My Mind lays in tatters across my living room floor as it is utterly BLOWN

  • 1:57 flinstones theme... sick guys!

  • 1 of the best duets ive ever seen, honestly

  • beat at the start is awesome!

    >everything<

  • 100% epic! absolutely perfect *.*

  • Hot for(teacher) sound od druMuzak! :D

  • Sonor win!!!

  • monstruos!!!!!

  • Now you can see the difference b/n a drum duet and pointless multi-drummer bashing...

  • beautiful!

someone's gotta hold the beat - that's how they get along.

  • simon is actually pretty tiny!

  • che coordinazione!! incredibile!

  • @CrashOverride88 nobody has won. this is a duet not a battle. Its all about for fun ;)

  • in the beginning there was phil and chester...now im in heavan

  • @sharethemusic I'm totally with you!!! :D

  • wait, this was a drum off? it seemed more like a musical drumset duet, oh wait, it was and we shouldn't argue over who "won" a duet

  • aguante gavin harrinsosn!!! el mejor de los mejores!!

  • obviously Simon takes the cake.

  • @miniatureface Point missed entirely.

  • I think one of my testicles just popped.

  • At the end, Simon is like..."F this! Hot for teacher time!"

  • @Zildjian232

Yeah! But listen to Jeff Beck - Space Boogie..! That is what he's playing! Wrote my college exame about the differenses to Jeff Beck's - What mama said and Jeff Becks - Space Boogie :)

    Enjoy :)

  • @kutby Yeah it is and it sounds crap when simon starts it , I like the Line , LESS IS MORE !

  • @Zildjian232 No, It's Space Boogie by Jeff Beck which Simon wrote.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) 80

  • That groove by Simon at 3:36 is insane by the way!

  • I felt like Gavin was holding back for the first 4 minutes. Then, when he really gets into it, his superiority behind the kit is so obvious.

  • Watch the other parts, and you'll see that Simon is featured plenty.

  • I don't get why people say "Gavin doesn't allow space for other musicians, this was all Gavin" etc. This is OBVIOUSLY rehearsed, every little beat so they have had to come up with something together and agree on it. Plus, Simon is featured more on the other parts.

  • Sound of Muzak and Space Boogie towards the end there :) Gavin plays Jeff Beck's Guitar part, and a lot of guitar players probably couldn't do that.

  • honestly i dont think these two drummers mesh that well. they both seemed to be kinda doin their own thing and only really switched when they realized the same thing was goin on for too long. just my opinion.

  • @maximus505 Have you watched the other three parts to this show? I think they complement each other pretty well.

  • The UK's best of the best!

  • This is World Class!!!!!!

  • sound of muzak like you never heard it, indeed :)

  • al due respect given but this is like 70% gavin! Go Gavin!

  • @MrWarrenbuffett

Yeah, it's not the first time that Gavin basically doesn't allow space for other musicians (you know, Colin Edwin would play amazing stuff on bass back when Chris Maitland was in PT). Of course Gavin is amazing technically and he has a lot of great ideas. But IMO he's still nowhere near Simon in tearms of musical sensitivity.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrWarrenbuffett Nether was trying to out do the other guy, they are both awesome, but Simon is one of the all time greats. Lots of musical respect there

  • The Sound of Drumzak!!!!!!!!

  • @AndredruMurderdnA Hell, yeah :-) Amazing...

  • how to fix a blown mind?

  • Gavin Harrison is a genius...

The rhythmic displacement from 0:48 is inhuman....

  • SICK!

  • part 4 is the best! Daaaaaaaaaamn!

  • Well that was fun.

  • Im wet!

  • How cool is this ... 2 of the most gifted drummer on 1 stage! Awesome!

  • HOLYYYYY SHIIIITTTTZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

  • Holy crap!!! The sound of muzak drum version!!!

  • @oikonomidis1 ακριβως ομως! μαμει...
