@yamahonkawazuki Old girl had been sitting for at least a few weeks before this start up, it was a decent temp that day, but that engine was pretty much ice cold.
@Roushfan5 Well the youtube experts ( lol) here think cold start = -40f or whatever. in essence a cold start is when engine is at air temp. say 75f outside engine is same. teh rambler did well. no enigne wakes up fast on a cold start. especially if tehy sit for a while. but htese old fords, and chevies and whatnot. do well. this new stuff however idk
@yamahonkawazuki Fuel injection is a lot easier to start up, and newer cars are fantastic when they WORK. The problem is when they go wrong they are a bugger to fix. For instance our 02 Nissan Pathfinder just recently developed a coolant leak, one of the hoses went bad.
Its just a bit of hose connected with two clamps. Its going to cost nearly a thousand dollars to fix, since its wedged between the engine block and the firewall. Thats why the new stuff sometimes sucks.
@Roushfan5 i know im not denying that :) ive had over 22 vehicles so far in my life. currently a 95 crown vic police car, and an 88 rx7 convertible. i LOVE FI for teh fact that is mostly get in, start up, and go. BUT i liek the older stuff, cause parts are cheap, probs are easy to diagnose, and repair
I have a class A 1992 Alumalite. I just had it smog tested and the mechanics said they could not believe how clean it runs. It starts up quickly every time. I love it so much. Now if only I could find the battery switch for the coach batteries. (not inside the door like most) :)
i told you i had even seen it but i havent i remebered last night after i clicked post comment but his son my uncle told me it had that and you had to pump a couple times i dont know if he even knew what he was talking about because my dad drove it once and had to barley turn the key and it fired right up didnt pump it at all by the way have you ever heard of a fuel injected carburetor
Pumping is tyically only required when the car/truck as been sitting. Depending on how good your car it could sit all night long and start up w/no pumping.
I have never heard of a fuel injected carb though.
me asking yoou about the fuel injected carb had nothing to do with the ford van somebody i know has a 80's something monte carlo i believe the year on it is late 80's not sure but it has a fuel injected carb
I guess building a house on a foundation takes some time, but it seems like, besides plumbing and wiring, could be done by hand. Gives me new found respect for my motor home.
Hey, I got a positive for you, Roushfan5, I like your channel, and your videos. As for you people who posted negative comments on this video, SHUT UP! When vehicles sit and are unused for a while like the one in this video, they take a little more cranking than normal. And WHAT THE HECK, the engine is running, so quit badmouthing it, idiots! As for you, Roushfan5, Nice job, and good luck!
Well, I'm for the American Car Manufactures, Ford, Dodge, and GM. I'm a little more into the diesel side, (as you've probably seen) but I do like the high performance gas cars, too.
I don't think they had these in 1885.

Is it fuel injected, I know that Ford switched to fuel injection the year 1986.
Roushfan5 2 years ago
You should post video though, I would like to see a 92.
Roushfan5 2 years ago
thats weird because my grandpa had a 90 club wagon and i had even seen it and there was a four barrel carb on it
schindlerman96 2 years ago
Well perhaps it was only an option to have a fuel injection, because I know Ford had Fuel injected vans by 1986.
The mustang was in 1984 I think.
I would like a four barrel club wagon though.

yamahonkawazuki 2 years ago
I own a 1986 Ford Econoline 150 With the original Fuel injected 302 in it,start right up every time and it runs like a champ.
eh4891 2 years ago
Yes I believe it is fuel injected. It really runs quiet too. (sans generator)
The RV only has 43,000 miles on it too.
kerryoke68 2 years ago
That less then ours even
Roushfan5 2 years ago

schindlerman96 2 years ago

Was is a gas engine? I think ours is a 5.4.
Roushfan5 2 years ago
nope petrol. i think i did about 10-12 mpg or even less.
dec8ry19con7 2 years ago
ours gets about 5
Roushfan5 2 years ago
cnt do? ours was a 7.4 nd urs is a 5.4??? lol
dec8ry19con7 2 years ago
Well some times bigger engines end up being more efficient, but we also have a tow car which tanks your MPG.
Roushfan5 2 years ago
thats not a 5.4....that engine didn't come out till 1997. thats a 460.

How do they show up by the way, is it just a cab on the chassis when it arrives, or is the cab built with it.

I don't know why they use the year (for the van chssi from the year before?
Roushfan5 3 years ago
1885???
2008TOYOTAHIGHLANDER 3 years ago
The van is from 1985 E350 though the motor home itself is a 1986. I don't know how that all worked out. But yes.
