when ever i do my arm workouts the only thing sore the next day are my triceps and everyone knows if a muscle is not sore the next day it hasnt broken down therefore it will not rebuild to become stronger, what can i do to get my biceps sore the next day
when you work out your biceps, they are often sore the next day, however, after a few days of doing the same exercises, the muscles dont hurt the next day for me...i assume this means im doing something wrong,i dont think its because my muscles have become that much stronger and adapted..i heard somewhere you should vary your exercises?what other exercises can i do for biceps ..etc?
im doing 20 kg (44 lbs) dumbbell curls, but its like more reps aint working to get me pass this weight, anyone got some tips on how to push through to the next level??
should a kid aged 13-14 be using weights as big as 20lb coz i use 20lb but i am not sure weather to use bigger weights or smaller and i am doing weights to build strength and stamina not to get bigger
not to get strong, but to get muscle; should i do each wrkout nice and slow, or should i do them somewhat fast, and should i do alot or a few, enough to bring some pain to my body?
Why do people always thes silly questions like ''How long does it take to get an inch on your arms''. Who knows, however you are willing to work. People always want results but don't want to work. It takes time lazy asses. So stop asking these dumb ass questions And get up do something and stop expectin miracles. Cause u worked out hard 1 day this year doesnt make up for the last 10 years of scratching ya ass on the couch. Unvelievable....
is it best to use light weights to war up and slowly move up the weight like 20 pound to 25 to 30 or going from light to really heavy like 20 to 30-35?
I think, i don't know for sure, but once ur warmed up, ur warmed up so it really doesn't matter. Also, u want as much of ur strenght for the really heavy weights.
Don't exhale or inhale at any specific time, all you do is restrict your muscles from the needed oxygen, breath like normal, in the nose out the mouth
whenever your making an effort you should exhale, in this video, he would be exhaling as he is curling, and inhaling as he is returning the dumbbell to the start possition. its generaly the same technique with every exercise.
you always want to make sure that you EXHALE when exerting. for example with dumbell curls, you want to inhale, then exhale as u bring the weight up, then inhale as u come down. and make sure you come down slowly, like the video insinuates.
Exhale as you lift the weight, inhale as you lower it. But if you are unable to do it, just breathe normally. But try to do as suggested....for any movements when working out.
you have to think about it as personal levels compared to weights... like i would warm up 30-40% of my max curl then to 60-70 of max curl then if im pushing for mass last set 80-90% in sets of (in order) 8-10,8-10,6-8 i hope that helps.
i like to use the light weights just for warming up, and then go straight to heavier weights, otherwise you're just tiring the muscle before using any serious weight. but i might be wrong
Good question, toyed with it myself. I used to take about 3 sets to warm up and pyramid onto the right weight/reps. when I started back as I wanted to feel confident that nothing was going to go pop.
nothing wrong with using lightweight to warm up. however for me and many others, heavy weight with low reps builds muscle better. you could also finish with a low rep exersice to get a good finishing burn.
Personally I was taught to go to 20 to 30 to 40. My teacher was Mr. Idaho back in the 80's so he knows his stuff. Doing leaps like that helps build up and gain quicker.
Warming up is always necessary for any muscle you're working. But depending on the type of training you're doing, you might not want to warm up and then jump straight into heavy, heavy weight. But then again, it all depends on what type of training you're doing.
Well - good that it worked for you, but it wouldn't work for me. I'm really skinny, so I need to stimulate the muscle, and rest a lot as well (plus eat a lot of protein etc.)
I will admit, people who do construction work their ass off dude. I don't know what area you live in, but with it being summer and hot, that just doubles the intensity of it. Course you gained and lost, you people work your ass off. Congrats dude.
if you stand up your more likely to use other muscles such as your back to lift the weight as it is harder to keep that stable non moving form as you do when your sitting and have a backrest, so basically you will be doing less of the workout on your arms, sitting is the best way forward but if you dont have a bench try looking at the standing bicep exercises
yup it does but lot of people i see in the gym standing up use alot of there back wen they start struggling. wen u sitting down uve got back rest makes it harde and supports ur back. but always vary up ur excercises
my arms are getting bigger everyweek by cm. and i work my ass off in the gym when its bi/tricep day. i work it till it get really sore and i cant move it but i dont do high rep i go with light weight for warm up and work my way up to heavy weight max rep i can do is 3-5 with really heavy weight
how long does it take to get an inch on your arms? the fastest ive ever put an inch on my arms would be in about 2 months and a half. and I would work out my arms twice a week.
ive been working out for a while now and i am pleased with my results
my shoulders, back, chest, and triceps are getting defined and getting bigger but my biceps are always staying the same, they might be getting bigger but they are not getting any definition at all...
I have a question. What if i can curl 25 lbs on my right hand for 8-12 reps but cant with my left hand and can do 8-12 with 20s. Will it be alright to do 20 on one hand and 25 on another or will it be negative
Start alternate the curls. Start with with your weak one. Pick a weight were you at max can do 12 with your weak one. This way the will grow the same.
i asked myself the same question... my gym instructor told me i should do the same weight on both arms but to keep on going with the right one til it gets tired... he said i should do that cause if i just exhaust one arm that's the only one that is really growing... it makes sense, but again, that is what my instructor said, i'm not sure...
they'll both grow at different rates and/or get defined at different rates. If you do the same amount of reps with a five pound different, i suggest you working your left a little bit more. only if you care about the size difference which shouldn't be too much if you get big arms
I wouldn't recomend doing that, chances are you will develop a larger right bicep then left. I did that and it developed uneven, its not really a big problem but its kinda annoying to look at.
if you want more mass then add more weight so instead of 12 you can only do 8 - 10 , if you are want ur arms to look ripped then you do 12- 15 with less weight
Imo best way to get bigger bicep is to make 3*6-8 reps with weight that really makes your last one really hard to get, but without swinging or using your back.
I have two questions: 1) Do you want to start with heavy weights for the first rep or lower weight? 2) will results differ if your form is not 100% accurate?
need someone to answer my question.....if u were to work out alot every day using his techniques but dont eat protein as such would you build muscle still by eating real food?
Surely the best way to train biceps and triceps is indirectly through the compound weight lifiting excercises like benchpress, pullups etc. I am not claimimng to have big arms but in a 8 month period my arms have gone from 11.5 inch to 15 inchs, and they are still growing and I do not specifically target them.
This is pretty helpful actually I sort of learned your supposed lift then release at the same rate but it shows that you add resistance in this while slowing downward
great workout but it's quite time consuming because it trains mostly only the biceps. Need many other exercises to train triceps and chest etc and abs
i watched almost 10 12 videos of body builders (pro's and trainers) and about only 2had proper form. not to say i am a perfectionist, im sure you can see things i do wrong while i work out but i do what i can to learn this form. isolation on the muscles works best as this video shows, up and down slow in the same motion w.o resting. it really defines the true body builder from people who just push weight to say i can deadlift so many pounds.
I was doing 12kg dumbell curls in the gym 5 weeks ago and felt something go in my elbow. My elbow has been painful since and it prevents me from working out.Any ideas what I should do guys (apart from going to an over priced physio)
so in all its just a total of 9 sets is it just me or is that to lil bit... especially how some people like my self only do one muscle a day.. ex.. biceps . triceps. shoulders.chest.legs. back.legs . i do each of those seperate days im i doing something wrong guys im willing to take some advice..
The body does not register how much work is being done, just that work is being done. Weight and the amount of exercises is trivial to a certain point. The key is your form and making sure your movements are right. Then you worry about appropriate weight: usually something that can be done 8-12 with anything over 8 being close to failure. You muscles only register so much work before you reach a stage of over taining. I hope this amkes sense
its good to just do a set of muscles at a time. but like do a couple a day if u have enuf time. like do biceps and legs then sholders and triceps then back and forearms. it will separate days from different muscle groups. thats what i do.
nah you're not doing anything wrong as long as you give your muscles about 1 or 2 days of rest. so yeah since you excersise different muscle groups you're good. but don't take my word for it you should ask more people and get a majority's opinion. p.s i also do the same routine so don't worry.
i generally do that same thing, chest day1, back & forearms day2, bi's & tri's day3, etc.
and with 6 days of rest between each muscles workout, i can do 25 - 40 sets within 1-2 hours (pending on the workout, ie. i only do chest on day1 so i can do all sets within the hour, but on days i work 2 groups, like day2 it takes longer).. so for most people who work out just to stay in shape(which is plenty)), a 3 day rotation (aka less sets, more groups)... a lower amount of sets would be enough
you dont wanna overwork your muscles just do enough to get them stimulated and then have some protein and rest them. overworking them is one of the biggest mistakes people make. also you might want to consider doing 2 muscles a a day (monday: chest, triceps Tuesday: rest Wednsday:biceps, back Thursday: rest Friday: legs, shoulders Weekend: rest) and that way your muscles have more time to rest which will make them bigger.
why don't you try to do 2 sets of muscles per day.for example: monday(chests and biceps), then you rest tuesday.wednesday(back,triceps).thursday rest.friday(shoulders,legs).it is important to rest, so your muscles can recover and be prepared for hard training the next day.and don't try to lift heavy weights because you see someone else do(you will become egobilder).the most important is to concentrate on technique, and when you feel strong enough, then increase weights... hope I help :)))
While it's good that you're separating training days for different muscles, don't forget that some muscles work together! Basically, Biceps work with your back (any exercise where you pull the weight towards you, like rows) and Triceps work with your chest (Anything you push the weight away, like bench press) So rather than doing triceps on one day and chest another, combine those two and find exercises that combine both muscles. Also, don't forget your diet is 70% of getting ripped!
if you want some advice for your workouts i have some. What i do is a 3 day cycle. first day i do upper body second day i do cardio or however you spell it. andon the third day i do lower body and abs. i hope this helps you.
i personally would say that it is not enough, but if your getting the results you want i would stick to that...what i do with my workouts is i do "coordinating" muscle groups like if im focusing a workout on my back, i do three way shoulders and maybe some deadlifts with my back workouts.
Lmao, you should be doing upper body 1 day, lower body next, etc... Seeing as your muscles aren't used to that, start off with less sets, but still make sure you're getting a bit tired, and that you're a bit sore next day. After a week you can push a few more sets into your routine until you deem fit, depends if you want more strength or size out of your workout. For size do more sets of light weights, and strength do heavier weights really fast, less sets and reps.
If you the correct plan, and don't try to do too much too fast, you'll get stronger like every 2 days. Make sure you get alot of sleep, so the muscle tissue can repair and build itself.
um idont no y people put this as a neg. comment but, im 14 been working out for about 8 months, 1st month wen i started i did get stronger. not much but a lil noticiable like 20s got easyer to curl started using 25s not like lil to big in a month.
rocking is somtimes incuraged in cirtain exercises in some cases bicep curls at full extension can harm tendens so a starting motion to get your elbow to hand angle a little less than 180 degrees is nessesary not saying you should be using 100's to do curls cuz if you wanted to iam sure you could get a few in but whats most imprtants getting that pump so do what
depends...u need a good diet....(lots of protein)..id buy some creatine if i was you...and just keep consistent...i put on 2.5 inches in a year and ahalf..

Start alternate the curls. Start with with your weak one. Pick a weight were you at max can do 12 with your weak one. This way the will grow the same.
frankibo1989 2 years ago
Dont do that because your arms will get uneven. Just use the same weight for both arms and do the exercise shown at 0:52.
NuckIez 2 years ago
i asked myself the same question... my gym instructor told me i should do the same weight on both arms but to keep on going with the right one til it gets tired... he said i should do that cause if i just exhaust one arm that's the only one that is really growing... it makes sense, but again, that is what my instructor said, i'm not sure...
metalsabatico 2 years ago
they'll both grow at different rates and/or get defined at different rates. If you do the same amount of reps with a five pound different, i suggest you working your left a little bit more. only if you care about the size difference which shouldn't be too much if you get big arms
kwang22 2 years ago
no if you do that you will continue to have the problem of having one arm way stronger than the other
comatarmsFTW 2 years ago
no lol, keep the weights the same on each side....you don't want one arm to be bigger than the other do you? that would just look retarded
Shokeybutsi 2 years ago
I wouldn't recomend doing that, chances are you will develop a larger right bicep then left. I did that and it developed uneven, its not really a big problem but its kinda annoying to look at.
defplucky 2 years ago
Why only 8 to 10 reps? Is 12 reps too much?
normjaso 2 years ago
If you can do 3 sets of 12 reps comfortably then you need to move up to more weight.
NuckIez 2 years ago 22
yep, thats what i was always told
gta4drpepper 2 years ago
if you want more mass then add more weight so instead of 12 you can only do 8 - 10 , if you are want ur arms to look ripped then you do 12- 15 with less weight
alexsep82 2 years ago
his arms are ripped, huge biceps, triceps, and shoulders.. you can tell its all natural muscle
ryanyouden 3 years ago 2
i dont really work my biceps that much but it still looks fine, maybe because of my back workouts.
timoisgod 3 years ago
Imo best way to get bigger bicep is to make 3*6-8 reps with weight that really makes your last one really hard to get, but without swinging or using your back.
Jonttum91 3 years ago
I have two questions: 1) Do you want to start with heavy weights for the first rep or lower weight? 2) will results differ if your form is not 100% accurate?

Surely the best way to train biceps and triceps is indirectly through the compound weight lifiting excercises like benchpress, pullups etc. I am not claimimng to have big arms but in a 8 month period my arms have gone from 11.5 inch to 15 inchs, and they are still growing and I do not specifically target them.
ballsrburning 3 years ago
This is pretty helpful actually I sort of learned your supposed lift then release at the same rate but it shows that you add resistance in this while slowing downward

i'd reccomend every other workout do some prechur curls. also you need some heavy days, don't do 10rep sets every time.

how do you prevent yourself from getting a ruptured bicep
stimparama123 3 years ago
great workout but it's quite time consuming because it trains mostly only the biceps. Need many other exercises to train triceps and chest etc and abs
boobmarcus 3 years ago
How can you train your arms completely in less than 45 minutes? Impossible.
You have to do 3 different exercises for your shoulders, 3 -4 sets
Then 3 different exercises for your biceps - 3-4 sets
Then 3 different exercises for your triceps - 3-4 sets
and then atleast 1 exercises for your forearms - 2-3 sets
That takes me about an hour and a half

i watched almost 10 12 videos of body builders (pro's and trainers) and about only 2had proper form. not to say i am a perfectionist, im sure you can see things i do wrong while i work out but i do what i can to learn this form. isolation on the muscles works best as this video shows, up and down slow in the same motion w.o resting. it really defines the true body builder from people who just push weight to say i can deadlift so many pounds.

so in all its just a total of 9 sets is it just me or is that to lil bit... especially how some people like my self only do one muscle a day.. ex.. biceps . triceps. shoulders.chest.legs. back.legs . i do each of those seperate days im i doing something wrong guys im willing to take some advice..
getblitzed 3 years ago 2
so what ur saying is u spend the whole day on one muscle group? i dont think there is anythig wrong with that.
SAFENAFE1985 3 years ago
The body does not register how much work is being done, just that work is being done. Weight and the amount of exercises is trivial to a certain point. The key is your form and making sure your movements are right. Then you worry about appropriate weight: usually something that can be done 8-12 with anything over 8 being close to failure. You muscles only register so much work before you reach a stage of over taining. I hope this amkes sense
bigkev625 3 years ago
its good to just do a set of muscles at a time. but like do a couple a day if u have enuf time. like do biceps and legs then sholders and triceps then back and forearms. it will separate days from different muscle groups. thats what i do.
slalom987654321 3 years ago
nah you're not doing anything wrong as long as you give your muscles about 1 or 2 days of rest. so yeah since you excersise different muscle groups you're good. but don't take my word for it you should ask more people and get a majority's opinion. p.s i also do the same routine so don't worry.
trombone101 3 years ago
Depends on 1 thing... is your lifted weigth are goin up or down ?
SimonSez83 3 years ago
i generally do that same thing, chest day1, back & forearms day2, bi's & tri's day3, etc.
and with 6 days of rest between each muscles workout, i can do 25 - 40 sets within 1-2 hours (pending on the workout, ie. i only do chest on day1 so i can do all sets within the hour, but on days i work 2 groups, like day2 it takes longer).. so for most people who work out just to stay in shape(which is plenty)), a 3 day rotation (aka less sets, more groups)... a lower amount of sets would be enough
leeb7415 3 years ago
you dont wanna overwork your muscles just do enough to get them stimulated and then have some protein and rest them. overworking them is one of the biggest mistakes people make. also you might want to consider doing 2 muscles a a day (monday: chest, triceps Tuesday: rest Wednsday:biceps, back Thursday: rest Friday: legs, shoulders Weekend: rest) and that way your muscles have more time to rest which will make them bigger.
curveball690 3 years ago
why don't you try to do 2 sets of muscles per day.for example: monday(chests and biceps), then you rest tuesday.wednesday(back,triceps).thursday rest.friday(shoulders,legs).it is important to rest, so your muscles can recover and be prepared for hard training the next day.and don't try to lift heavy weights because you see someone else do(you will become egobilder).the most important is to concentrate on technique, and when you feel strong enough, then increase weights... hope I help :)))
isnogood0310 3 years ago
While it's good that you're separating training days for different muscles, don't forget that some muscles work together! Basically, Biceps work with your back (any exercise where you pull the weight towards you, like rows) and Triceps work with your chest (Anything you push the weight away, like bench press) So rather than doing triceps on one day and chest another, combine those two and find exercises that combine both muscles. Also, don't forget your diet is 70% of getting ripped!
xxlmetfan 3 years ago
nope. but you work your bicep like its one muscle its actually two but work it as one... so you dont need so many sets to get big biceps.
EGsnail95 3 years ago
if you want some advice for your workouts i have some. What i do is a 3 day cycle. first day i do upper body second day i do cardio or however you spell it. andon the third day i do lower body and abs. i hope this helps you.
liamliamliam8 3 years ago
i personally would say that it is not enough, but if your getting the results you want i would stick to that...what i do with my workouts is i do "coordinating" muscle groups like if im focusing a workout on my back, i do three way shoulders and maybe some deadlifts with my back workouts.
rgskaggs55 3 years ago
or do heavier weight less reps
or lower weight more reps
HIPSTER66189 3 years ago
Lmao, you should be doing upper body 1 day, lower body next, etc... Seeing as your muscles aren't used to that, start off with less sets, but still make sure you're getting a bit tired, and that you're a bit sore next day. After a week you can push a few more sets into your routine until you deem fit, depends if you want more strength or size out of your workout. For size do more sets of light weights, and strength do heavier weights really fast, less sets and reps.
DrDoobs420 3 years ago
it is a bit lol but its cuz there are more different workouts and variations, so ur not doing anything wrong in my opinion
DMarks17 2 years ago
so if i do this i can get more muscle and strength withing a month or so????
Slipkn0tfan101 3 years ago
If you the correct plan, and don't try to do too much too fast, you'll get stronger like every 2 days. Make sure you get alot of sleep, so the muscle tissue can repair and build itself.

rocking is somtimes incuraged in cirtain exercises in some cases bicep curls at full extension can harm tendens so a starting motion to get your elbow to hand angle a little less than 180 degrees is nessesary not saying you should be using 100's to do curls cuz if you wanted to iam sure you could get a few in but whats most imprtants getting that pump so do what
