  • Love it love it

  • album stupendo! altro pianeta

  • GREAT song and band !!!!!

  • tocan de la ptmr !

  • At killing joke facebook page guys asked about ideas for new set list to the 2012 tour .

A lot of peoples demand songs from BTATS ...

I hope they play again adorations someday :)

  • I cannot understand why Killing Joke dont get more internatioal recognition. Many of their songs are better than what Led Zeppelin did. Geordie Walker is at least as good as Jimmie Page (in my opinon better). So many bands ripped of KJ,

  • Fuck vevo.

  • Gorgeous, I want to savor ever note of Coleman's voice!

  • this song is so haunting and hypnotizing

  • this song kicks ass

  • Jaz is incredible

  • I love Jaz`s Syd Barrett look during this era.

  • This song is absolutely fucking awesome. I was 16 when it was released and I still never get tired of listening to it.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • KJ continually evolved their sound. I guess some people wanted them to be AC/DC and put out the same damn album 25 times. I never liked anything after Brighter Than........but Democracy was pretty solid (I liked the tribal thing). The problem is that after Brighter Than they started sounding like every 1/8th note, power chord chugging, run of the mill band that they influenced to begin with.

  • AWSOME

  • I used to cycle to this in the dark in 1987. Loved the rain crashing down with this on my headphones........

  • @tanpiltanpil yeah i totally dig that atmosphere. I remember being down at the old water filtration plant (gorgeous gothic architecture, a heritage site) and the rain was pouring down on a cold october night, reflecting on the lights and building. the wind was blowing, waves crashing on the shore...no one to be seen anywhere. so many memories of the rain and overcast, dark days etc...was in a darker place then anyhow.......

  • @bababooey7576 and appropriate music, of course.

  • @tanpiltanpil Wish i could do that now..sigh

  • This is their best album. It is underrated because people cling to genre stereotypes.

  • When an echo continues to play and you find it reverberate away a way into some cloistered chamber farther than bicameral bar not recognition, inspiration by ignition be cast into revery that might last .

  • It,s a shame some people cannot talk without using obscenities..... love killing joke though.

  • @949janis Hey it's the internet circa 2011. It's pretty much mandatory when someone disagrees with you to call them a little faggot bitch, state that you butt raped their mother and that you would fuck them up if you ever met them. Kids these days........oh wait even so called "grown ups" have adopted this habit. SIGHHHH......

  • paul weller copied this tune for english rose

  • It's a magic.

  • i could watch and listen to this all day brilliant .

  • One of the best song of Killing Joke.

  • a kindler, gentler KJ more akin to the Cure than they previous incarnation. Decent song but just lacks the force of previous albums. Thank god Extremities came along and relit the fire...

  • this has to be one of THE most beautiful haunting songs ever written........ such an under rated band

  • This was the song that got me into Killing Joke, it's now 25 years on and I still absolutely love it. :)

  • @captainlucy ..me too..I remember annie nightingale playing it on R1 on a sunday evening in '88..totally got me hooked on them.

  • My 2 favorite Killing Joke songs...they both kick...

  • my favorite song of KJ...

  • @equipotriste mine too

  • I love Brighter than a thousand suns!

  • brilliant song brilliant video. outstanding perm.

  • what a great song and video.

  • Best Killing Joke song EVER!!!

  • I heard this on annie nightingales request show on radio 1 years ago but never caught who it was.. many searches later and I was led here, thank you :)

  • To dirge and death we go......

    Tune.

  • Fucking hell Jaz, even Bonnie Tyler couldn't do that with her hair!

  • @samadriel

Yeah, but Roger Daltrey could do that in the 70's ;-)

  • Masterpiece of melody

  • Who is director of KJ's videos? I love the image of them so much!

  • prozac people love it haha

  • WTF?! I look for KJ, and I get it with a Justin Bieber advert...What gives?

  • they're one of my favorite band. All of my friends laugh at me and call me outdated i just brush 'em off, btw i'm only 3!

  • @thundertower 3, you mean 13?

  • @EpicFail345

i think by "3!" he means "31 with an attitude" lol

  • Here's Geordie doing his inimitable orchestral noise. In a way, he's able to show what only he can do on the band's rare Romantic songs (romantic with a capital 'R'): This one, Solitude, the slow breakdown in the middle of the Extremities song, the Hum (best of all worlds). Sure, he can do everything. And clearly Jaz made a decision after Democracy that the band was meant for catharis and cataclysm, not dreaminess. Raven prettied up ... can laugh now! Incredibly, pop radio played this.

  • 0:52 - "My pants, they're falling down".

  • good song..

  • "That" album gets slated???

  • i love when Jaz moves his eyes to the distortion sound in the beginning. so awesome

  • Brings back a lot of memories. In the summer of 1987, "Brighter than a Thousand Suns" was the soundtrack to my life. Thanks for posting

  • Killing joke at the pinnacle of there career.. this album (BTATS) and Night time... still good 25 years later

  • the ultimate chorus

  • the ultimate chorus. inspirational

  • Brighter Than a Thousand Suns is when the Joke jumped the shark for me. However, it's still a trip to see this video. It really brings me back to a much better time.

  • where is this video filmed?

  • Bbrilliant song. My favourite all-time Killing joke song. Absolutely everything works on this track.

  • many more happy years killing joke great :)

  • I too had a change of heart about this album about ten years ago. I hated it when it first came out, but as my tastes matured, I came admire the way every Killing Joke album is unique. Brighter Than A Thousand Suns is probably the best new wave album of all time.

  • Brighter than a thousand suns, overall good album. I first found out about this song when I watched it on MTV in 1993. Very inspiring and spiritual..

  • It's Simply Beautiful and Strange

  • Ils sont beaux. La musique est belle. La vidéo est belle. Le temple est beau.

    J'aime la beauté.

    Complètement gothique...

  • @cluster52

  • A day in my adolescents I will never forget, a chilly feb night all crammed in my friends crappy little car with this song blaring all I can see now is our smiling youthful faces with not a care in the world. It was amazing. RIP Paul Raven

  • Wonderfull!

  • the lead singer looks like a young Syd Barrett!!

  • dont give a damn what anybody says this song is great!!!!!

  • Jaz should make movies, he would be great !!!

  • Ma dove li trovi oggi altri pezzi così stupendi? KILLING JOKE NUMBER 1

  • this song should have been a hit

  • unfortunately, it only made the top 50 on the UK Singles Charts.

  • This album gets trashed a lot but I love it. KJ!

  • @Paulie88 Great album. I know what ya mean.

  • @Paulie88 ..agreed ..stunning album..one of my all time faves.

  • @Paulie88

i don't know why it does... it's 1 of my most often played albums, along with Night Time & Fire Dances :) As much as they strayed from this, i think it's rather interesting how i like this & Ministry's Twitch album the most... & that they both came out the same year & have a very similar genre changing history!

  • @pessimystica Agreed. Brighter than a thousand suns is my favourite KJ record, and the same goes for Ministry's Twitch.

  • man, not only is their music hypnotic, but the band members are fucking gorgeous!! :D!! <3. ahah

  • @eclecticbgirl i second that. ;)

  • gothic ambience !!!

    I love it !!!!!!!!!!

  • What an Amazing video, And Track!! In a class of its Own LEGENDRY

  • DIEU,rend nous raven

  • Ouais ramene nous raven

  • ouais, ce serait une bonne idée !!!

  • 'when I was college (right around 88) I decided to drive from Pullman to Spokane one night because I was locked out of my dorm room, and I had nothing else to do. This had been one of my favorite albums since it came out, and I listened to it that whole time. At one point I was so tired I started seeing things so I pulled over by an old abandoned diner and slept for a bit, listening to this very tape. To this day I feel that hallucinogenic thing when I listen to this. I love this record.

  • wow, that remind me the best period of my life! sigh sigh... new wave, where are you!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bellissima

  • KJ at his best !!!!!
