Barret wins. Same damage. Ingame snipers hit where you point, so tie on accuracy. Same range (always does the same damage with same multipliers). Barret has a larger magazine. Barret has a higher fire rate. Therefore barret wins as off guard up close you can spam no scopes. At sniping ranges the fire rate is still handy and faster than the interventions. I think barret has a faster reload also but i'm not 100% sure.
a real barreth would split a person in half if the bullet hits on the waist.. even if the bullet would miss next to the arm, part of the arm would be scraped off
the only thing i like about the barret is that its semi automatic because with steady aim and a guy is in front of u and u dont have enough time to scope or dont have SOH pro then you can just spray him down i like the intervention more though. i hate how i shoot ppl in the chest with fmj and stopping power on(using the barret or the intervention) and it gets a hitmarker then they shoot me in the foot and it kills me.
Well I love the intervention. All my friends call me the intervention whore cause i use it so much. but i do also like the 50cal cause of the semi-automatic. The reason y i still like the intervention cause u have to be fast in close range cause its a bolt actiion and thats where i get my combos. Good explinatiion on ur video of the two guns! The recoil on the Intervention is not constant, as it can go from no recoil to the recoil of the Barrett. Having said that, the recoil on the Barrett is constant and predictable. The Barrett also has higher penetration than the Intervention. Oh, and the Barrett is semi-automatic, therefore making it a better weapon than the Intervention when you get into CQB situations.
I hate how unrealistic Modern Warfare 2 is when it comes down to sniping. In real life, if you were to get shot with a Barrett .50cal, with the size of the .50cal bullet and the range and speed the Barrett sends it, that .50cal bullet would tear you up. If you don't believe me, Google ".50cal bullet" because they are fuc*ing huge. They are probably about the length of your middle finger, most likely longer, and the width of your right thumb and your left pinky, combined.

Intervension looks cool when you do the 360 shots and the quickscopes, its also fun to play with whereas i use the Barrett like an assualt rifle xD and i think barrett is more accurate less glitchy shots bt more hitmarkers

But if you ask any pro MW2 sniper they will say Intervention. AANNDD when was the last time you saw an Optic player use a .50 Cal? If they were using a .50 Cal, they were NOT legit.

they may be apart by a small amount of damage, but that small amount of damage makes a big difference in the hitmarker world. in my opinion, the barrett is like a silenced intervention. more hitmarkers. also worse accuracy. so i choose the intervention as my epic winner for this gun review!

i know quite abit about guns because my dad has guns and my dad brot my in to the world of fire arms when i was about 10 so i know quite enough about them and the longest shot in the world recorded is by the barret 50 cal by just over a mile but your right in away. bolt action guns are more accurate but thats why they say the barret is such an amazing gun because its like a blot action gun and from a long rang shot they both have alot of kinetic energy there pritty much the same in real life.

Ask yourself this: Would you want a sniper that has a second of delay between every shot, has a small magazine and has unpredictable recoil, or a sniper that has a fast rate of fire,(meaning you can spray and get the kill at close range) a bigger magazine, and more predictable recoil. Thumbs up if you agree.
Drift0r's review... All you need to know. Set this straight, ALL sniper rifles are perfectly accurate when ADS, Intervention and Barrett do exactly the same damage. Big difference for me is the semi-auto function of the barrett. Close range no difference cause with SP pro all are one hit kills unless you shoot the arms or legs which is highly unlikely. I prefer Intervention purely for the sexy bolt action =)
Honestly, I think the Barret is a lot better. The accuracy really doesn't matter that much. I have never been in a position where I said to myself, "If I had more accuracy, I would've killed em". The Barret also is semi-automatic which means if someone gets close to you, you are able to use the Barret as if it were a pistol and basically spray fire were the intervention you either kill them with the one shot or you're pretty much dead. I have fall camo for both and I personally love the barret.
chey tac has a lighter round so you can carry more ammo and was made to shoot like the barrett but not have such a recoil of one . the barrett was made for shooting larger targets like tanks and so on . so thats why u get more hit markers and m21 is the best in mw2 cause it always scopes for the head . but fall camo is lame its more of iam awesome cause i have fall camo in your face .
personally id say barrett is better at camping and intervention is more a run and gun sniper although they both have advantages and disadvantges.(sorry about spelling)

Do you have any idea what you are saying? The accuracy bonus does absolutely nothing to damage in any way, it just makes sure that the bullet goes where the scope is, and not slightly left or right. Also, in real life, a shot from either gun, even to your knee or somewhere like that will literally blow you to bits and dust at the range it is used to shot. And also in real life, the intervention is not used for longer range, but more of an anti-personal compared to the Barrett is anti-armor.
Ima hav2 agree ima go wit the intervention, it's a personal preference. The barrett gets me so many damn hit markers from a far! but quiet recently ive taken a liken 2 the M21 EBR, bcuz of its fire rate and little recoil
How does the Intervention have more accuracy than the Barrett? Both guns hit directly where you point their reticles. I've used both and I have never encountered any experience where if you try shooting a far away target with the Intervention, it will hit while shooting with the Barrett in the exact same spot will miss. Both guns also have the same damage multipliers. I fail to understand why people say the Intervention is more accurate.
k well im gonna say it the intervention in real life is a $20 airsoft gun (crappy) compared to the Barret .50 caliber. THE GREATEST MAN MADE HAND USABLE WEAPON OF ALL TIME.
if your worried about hit markers so much.. put stopping power and FMJ on the barret and its pretty much a garuanteed kill if u hit their body.. unless ur shit and you hit their arms legs etc..
I imagine the famas is the greatest weapon in the game. i utterly really enjoy search and destroy on this weapon. i absolutely clear your opposing base thereafter blow them up when i use this gun! everyone have the most up-to-date map pack now? it's wonderful ive only downloaded it at mw2forfreeZinfo (replace Z with . ) a couple of days ago myself
intervention cause i can use at any range. hard scoping, quick scoping, and no scoping are much easier cause you know that if you hit your target your going to kill it. ive used it on "rust" while i was running around and i got 35 kills and a 14 killstreak so the intervention is by far the best sniper ever

In my experience, when quickscoping, the Barret works alot better. There is also this glitch with intervention which made me miss quite alot . When you quickscope, and you can see the person through your scope, it sometimes goes straight through the person without hitting him. worked my way up till 9th prestige now and this is what i experienced during gameplay.
about the bolt action vs. the semi automatic the barret has enuff recoil to wer it takes about as long as the bolt action its only slitely quiker i like both but i <3 the intervention :)
Barrett .50cal is a very good gun and I personally think it's a better gun becuz of da automatic, but I personally like the Intervention bettr cuz I like bolt action guns and it takes more skill to uze

@bravodonps3 wat i meant was tht the maps in mw2 are all pretty small and either completely open or confined so its hard to use a sniper if there are umps or other automatic guns around the corner, if ur a gd quickscoper it wouldnt be but the only thing i consider noobish with any sniper rifle is sitting in one spot and hardscoping a chokepoint while another member of ur team hardscopes another.
I think the Intervention is better. I have always used bolt action rifles since early Call of Dutys. So I think it is easier for me. Although the Barrett is powerful the Intervention is more reliable. It is almost a guaranteed kill. Thumbs up if you agree.

The Barrett is used for taking down armored units the intervention is consider one of the best sniper rifles ever for taking out people. Intervention all the way!!!!!!!!
I use both but IMO it's intervention. Get one hit kills every time and despite being semi-auto the barrett has so much recoil you are off target by shot 2.
barrett only lack a miniscule bit of accuracy for what a much much higher fire rate and same damage and i does alot better at long range next time both hard scopes

The intervention is the better gun it is 70% chance of 1 shot kill and is pretty much the best sniper with the silencer the wa2000 is 1 shot kill if it hits the chest or above same as barrett so if u want a semi auto sniper go with wa2000 it has less recoil.
barrett 50. because of the semi-auto fire, the accuracy doesnt really affect that much and it has double the clip size. And i know it doesnt make a difference but it looks beastly

That little bit of accuracy on the intervention helps spawn snipe/ Highrise for example. But if there's more than one person in one area the Barrett will kill both of them (recoil can be prevented if you don't hardscope) --agreed it's a tie
the inter has actully been rated the best sniper rifle in the world theres a show called top ten sniper rifles and it prooves the intervention is the best rifle in the world

Drift0r's review... All you need to know. Set this straight, ALL sniper rifles are perfectly accurate when ADS, Intervention and Barrett do exactly the same damage. Big difference for me is the semi-auto function of the barrett. Close range no difference cause with SP pro all are one hit kills unless you shoot the arms or legs which is highly unlikely. I prefer Intervention purely for the sexy bolt action =)

Honestly, I think the Barret is a lot better. The accuracy really doesn't matter that much. I have never been in a position where I said to myself, "If I had more accuracy, I would've killed em". The Barret also is semi-automatic which means if someone gets close to you, you are able to use the Barret as if it were a pistol and basically spray fire were the intervention you either kill them with the one shot or you're pretty much dead. I have fall camo for both and I personally love the barret.

chey tac has a lighter round so you can carry more ammo and was made to shoot like the barrett but not have such a recoil of one . the barrett was made for shooting larger targets like tanks and so on . so thats why u get more hit markers and m21 is the best in mw2 cause it always scopes for the head . but fall camo is lame its more of iam awesome cause i have fall camo in your face .

Do you have any idea what you are saying? The accuracy bonus does absolutely nothing to damage in any way, it just makes sure that the bullet goes where the scope is, and not slightly left or right. Also, in real life, a shot from either gun, even to your knee or somewhere like that will literally blow you to bits and dust at the range it is used to shot. And also in real life, the intervention is not used for longer range, but more of an anti-personal compared to the Barrett is anti-armor.

How does the Intervention have more accuracy than the Barrett? Both guns hit directly where you point their reticles. I've used both and I have never encountered any experience where if you try shooting a far away target with the Intervention, it will hit while shooting with the Barrett in the exact same spot will miss. Both guns also have the same damage multipliers. I fail to understand why people say the Intervention is more accurate.

intervention cause i can use at any range. hard scoping, quick scoping, and no scoping are much easier cause you know that if you hit your target your going to kill it. ive used it on "rust" while i was running around and i got 35 kills and a 14 killstreak so the intervention is by far the best sniper ever

In my experience, when quickscoping, the Barret works alot better. There is also this glitch with intervention which made me miss quite alot . When you quickscope, and you can see the person through your scope, it sometimes goes straight through the person without hitting him. worked my way up till 9th prestige now and this is what i experienced during gameplay.

I think the Intervention is better. I have always used bolt action rifles since early Call of Dutys. So I think it is easier for me. Although the Barrett is powerful the Intervention is more reliable. It is almost a guaranteed kill. Thumbs up if you agree.

The intervention is the better gun it is 70% chance of 1 shot kill and is pretty much the best sniper with the silencer the wa2000 is 1 shot kill if it hits the chest or above same as barrett so if u want a semi auto sniper go with wa2000 it has less recoil.

That little bit of accuracy on the intervention helps spawn snipe/ Highrise for example. But if there's more than one person in one area the Barrett will kill both of them (recoil can be prevented if you don't hardscope) --agreed it's a tie
