  • Let's see who he beat. He beat and out of his prime Tyson, while ducking him in his prime. He beat an older Holyfield, who wasn't that great to begin with. That's all. Ali beat Liston when he was most feared, Foreman when he was most feared while Ali was over the hill. He fought Frazier 3 times and beat him twice taking a terrible beating the first time. No comparison

  • @michaelyouth Lewis ducked Tyson in his prime? Is that why Lewis sued Tyson for not fighting him in 1996? They would've fought if Tyson didn't lose to Douglas. He would've had to have beaten Holyfield and Bowe, but Lewis would've been next so shut the fuck up.

  • @bigmoney749 What a moron, can you not express yourself without the use of petty profane language? I am saying that Lewis didn't do enough to be called the greatest heavyweight of all times. He to me is a great fighter, even an all time great, but there is no comparison to him with Ali,Foreman, Frazier, Holmes and some other top 7 champions.

  • is this a joke???

  • Great champion.

But i don't know if he was any better than prime Bowe Holyfield or Tyson. Tyson was totally shot when they fought, Holyfield was getting pummeled by Ruiz only a year later and it's pointless using the Olympics from 88, Bowe wasn't in a good place.

  • I would like to see him have fought (and KOed) Wladamir and a rematch with Vitali. But he was a great fighter. No question.

  • @MADMAC572 I saw that fight with Vitali, and had not Vitali had that cut, I doubt that Lewis would have won. He would not have been knocked out, but he was not at his best, and losing on the cards. I do believe this was the fight that told him it was time to go, but he did go out with class in that fight nonetheless.

  • @paladin313 After rewatching it several times, I have to say I was in agreement with Lewis, that he was beginning to take control of the fight and that he would have won it down the stretch (although it might well have gone the distance). Given the size of those two men, the pace was strained and I think it would have slackened in the second half. But they are two comparable fighters.

  • lewis, you are so good boxer, but whole world knows, even you that you have no chance againsta Tyson in prime 86-89.. ist a fact!

  • @Phaeton998 It's not a fact. It's your opinion. Mike himself said that he doesn't think he'd have ever been able to beat Lewis. Now that's a fact.

  • Not for me.

  • rarely hurt retires in a good state of health and the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world! in reality the best heavyweight ever!!! long live the name of Lennox Lewis!

  • Foreman in his prime would destroy Lewis within two rounds!

  • never! lewis wos very good in defence and counter punching 2 big a reach and power for foreman just another early round beast who punched not boxed!

  • @Pelzah87 Big George didn't need to Box.

  • @flouflis1a No way. Foreman might have beaten him, but he'd have had to figure out a way past the jab first. Foreman had no footspeed, and Lennox had excellent footwork. That's a difficult fight for Big George.

  • I never gave Lenox his due as a great heavy weight champion. After seeing his accomplishments calaloged here I must say he is one of the greatest. He definately is the smartest. He did not stay until his speecdh slurred.

  • -He didn't dismantle Holyfield, it was a close fight.

    -Ali would beat him.

  • vitali an wladimir are established great fighters no doubt about that aswell i respect them alot klitschkos an lewis my all time favourite fighters for me

  • lewis picked his time with everyone

  • It's laughable that the only argument LL's haters can come up with is that he was "boring".

  • @theresawayout i know its pathetic lol they are just tyson fanboys thats it. LEWI LEWIS LEWIS LEWIS!! :)

  • Great champion.. He earned that, but boring as hell imo.

  • shut the fuck up about Vitali that happened in 2003 and your still crying about it, Vitali could never have beaten the best

  • Everyone, ignore the clown below who goes by the name of Somerled222. He's been shown up countless times before by anyone with a shred of boxing knowledge, and is obsessed with his boyfriend Vitali. Don't get wound up by anything he says, he's clueless in the first degree. To all others, happy debating!

  • @Somerled222 lewis was old vitali was in his prime yet lewis stayed in there and didnt land as many punches but did more damage shows who was winning more damage on vitali if the fight had carried on vitali would have being on his back for the first time

  • Listen to Holyfield people. This is one of the fiercest competitors of all time admitting that a man who beat him was considered by the other greats to be truly the better fighter. Also, when he says he always surprised them, he's talking about his second fight with Bowe that he won. That was the fight Bowe took instead of fighting Lewis, not the first one. Just clarifying.

  • joe louis ali tyson are true greats

  • lewis should have fought the tyson at 1:32, not the 40+ yr old washed up version. if they fought back then, i would go for tyson. could have been a GREAT fight damnit!

  • @shellbsd23 Tyson was 35 and Lewis was 36 when they fought. Had Tyson beaten Douglas, and then Holyfield, and then Bowe, he would've fought Lewis in 1993. They were supposed to fight for the title in 1996, but Tyson backed out. Lewis sued him in court and got paid $4 million by Tyson and Don King.

  • @bigmoney749 u really believe tyson was scared of lewis? it was a strategic move. he should have fought them all b4 prison

  • @vgr112261 ali never fought anyone with lewis' skills. it would be a great fight and imo it could go both ways

  • @vgr112261 Who did Ali fight who was at least 6'5" 245 with an 84" reach? I don't doubt that he might've but I just wanna know their names. The fact that I can't think of anyone off the top of my head means that if he did indeed fight anyone of Lewis's size and reach, whoever it was wasn't any good. Sonny Liston didn't really have an 84" reach. That's a myth.

  • Lennox is no doubt one of the best of all time. Is time to give him is due.

  • I think that Lennox Lewis does deserve to be considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. The only reason he isn't is not because of his boxing ability but because he didn't have the personality of many of the other heavy weights! Good or bad you have to put on a show for the public! Ali is the greatest because he was both a good boxer & an even better showman!

  • he is right up there as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time!

  • Don Turner is spot on. That's what really puts Lewis above everyone else to me. He wasn't undefeated though he did avenge both his losses, but given his skills, power, jab, class, hunger, superior boxing IQ and ring generalship, and his unparalleled physical gifts (6'5" 245 pounds of muscle with an 84" reach), Lewis would beat anyone in the history of boxing.

  • @TSOKES He dominated most of his opponents, even the good ones (see his fights with Ruddock, Morrison, Golota, Grant, and Tyson) and he fought and beat Riddick Bowe in the olympics, but Bowe publicly ducked him in the pros. He would've fought Tyson in 1993 had Tyson beaten Douglass and then the subsequent Holyfield and then the subsequent Bowe who threw his belt in a trash can instead of fighting Lewis.

  • @TSOKES Yea the rematches bitch

  • yeah cocksucker it was his best fights ( rematches vs mccall and rahmann ).

  • @TSOKES Add his fights with Tyson, Holyfield, Ruddock, Grant, and Morrison to that list.

  • Champion among contenders

    Man among boys

    Gentleman among men

A truly great champion and the ultimate class act

Lennox Lewis boxing misses you more than it realizes. Thanks for the memories.

  • Should I tell you the distance between Lennox Lewis and the greatest of all time?

Okay: a rematch with Vitali. And a impressive victory!

  • @dbreiden83080 no he admitted he didnt even train hard for the fight. he just was done with fighting before the fight started, and still fucked up vitali

  • If only Klitschko fans were as humble and as honest as the actual fighters. just shut the fuck up all of you!!

  • i swear the sad as fuck klitschko fans no their guys will have no real legacy so trawl lennox videos to insult cos he beat vitali. A CUT BY A PUNCH MEANS UR MAN LOST! especially when the skin is flappin over the eye, get over it lewis was a champion of champions, the klitschkos are champions of bums end of go watch videos of them stop trolling its sad and an insult to the great boxer that is LENNOX LEWWWWWWWWWWWWWIS

  • thats so much shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he knew he could loose against klitschko! Thats why he refused to fight both of them until retirement!

  • @fergusmc69 Both great fighters

  • when lennox fought tyson, the ref was really biased against Lennox, that ref was clearly favouring Tyson..

  • @onlyjoetee tyson got his ass knockout and rember looking down at tyson at 13 thinking this guy has no buisness in the ring with greatness. tyson was a bully and got exposed ove and over again

  • @ryanr20091 boxing is about being a bully, you're supposed to impose yourself and your will on the other man, basically bully him!!!thats why Tyson was so effective for so long,he had the fighters instinct, that part of boxing you cant teach!!

  • Lewis beat all America had to offer. Bowe will never fight Lewis. Holyfield fight Lewis only when he got no choice, King did not want Tyson to fight Lewis. Old Foreman would rather fight prime Tyson but not Lewis. And Tyson admitted he will NEVER fight Foreman. Lewis' resume is way more impressive than Bowe, Tyson or Holyfield. And face it, Lewis never duck nobody. Bowe, Tyson or Holyfield can't say the same. The only other heavyweight in that era who can claim to duck nobody was Ruddock.

  • if lennox lewis had fought ali in his prime i think lewis would had suffered the same fate as cleveland williams and ernie terrell both of them harldly landing a punch and taking a savage beating. they both had the same height and built and skill of lennox lewis and lewis's fate would had been sealed never coming close to the greatest boxer of all time.

  • @jeryd2003 dont be silly man,Cleveland Williams and earnie Terell were mediocre boxers,Lennox was great enough to hold FOUR belts at one time, how could you even mention their names next to his.On Ali's best night and lennox best night, who knows, remember,Ali never fought jabbers,he never faced anyone who could really jab till he met Holmes which was too late by then!

  • Great Lennox your awsome

  • lewis wouldnt of touched mike in his prime, shame of the unfortunate events that somewhat crippled him in the ring

  • @iR3DS7AR it was the other way round. Don king (Tyson's promoter) paid lewis not to fight him early in their careers . Not saying Tyson is a ducker, more that Don King is a corrupt money grabbing snake.

Besides, Lewis was older than Tyson when they fought and look what happened.

  • @Guybball lewis has always being consistant throughout his career even though he was older then tyson he was superior (/mentally) at that time they clashed. age is a somewhat varying factor.

What a fight it would be to see both in their prime, peak fitness & health. && Fair point about Don, he really screweds boxers over.

  • @iR3DS7AR Tyson wouldn't have touched Lewis in his prime, and when was Mike's prime, 2 years? 3 years? what a bad professional he was.

  • @iR3DS7AR Lewis would have done what Douglas did to Tyson but quicker. Any big, capable boxer would have overcome Tyson. Lewis even got the better of Mike when they sparred as amateurs just before Mike turned pro.

Lennox Lewis is the pugilist specialist, pride of Great Britain, lays them all to rest. The best ever and you know it.

  • Good dawm it, Britain owns in heavyweight boxing

  • best in him era

  • @krollemeg

Not rrally, infact past round 2 95% of big punches come from lewis round 3 was defo his in my eyes

  • @vytas35

Is that why the worst version off lewis and the only great fighter he faced took him out before the second half of the fight, fuck off to klitschko video.

  • yeah vitali nearly did as well against lewis as frank bruno did, just lasted one round fewer and of course lewis was by that time 38(what age was ali when he got trashed by holmes?).vitali had his chance and given lewis age and last minute opponent change it was a damn good chance, lewis made it clear that he was gonna hang up the gloves soon, vitali knew the score and couldnt get the job done, why ?because he plain wasnt good enough

  • a great great heavyweight who never got the credit he deserved when he was boxing now just now he is starting to be recognised right up with the great heavyyyyyyiess !! on his night could have beaten any heavy in history !!

  • wasn't about money it was about glory. are you listening mayweather

  • @ZigZagRunner lol to true mate

  • Its possible that is is the Greatest of all time.

  • Best heavyweight ever. Foreman's comment should seal it.

  • best heavyweight ever

  • @fergusmc69 I like lewis, but why did he say he'd give Vitali a rematch... then retire?! It would have been a good rematch!

  • @TreeTrunk82 what would beating him twice prove

  • Evander said it in the video both tyson and bowe didnt wanna fight lennox i give evander full credit for facing reality and getting in there and testing himself to lennox he got outboxed easily twice evander rose to the challenge. Lewis chased all these guys dominated the british and american route of heavyweights only lost twice and venged both by stoppage beat the next best heavyweight in vitali when he was on his way out the door retired as champion lennox is top 5 hw EASY

  • Best of all time:Lennox Lewis.

  • A prime Tyson ducked Lewis, Bowe is afraid of losing again to Lewis but refused to admit it. Henry Akiwande refused knew he couldn't win and resort to holding... So in a way, even the 6'6 Akiwande doesn't want no part of Lewis either. Tyson knew as well as his team knew, Lewis had a chance of beating him.

  • @expressivechild A little education for you: A prime Tyson did NOT duck Lewis. Lewis didn't turn pro until 1989 and everyone knows Tyson fired Rooney in '89 and subsequently went downhill. A post prison Tyson chose to fight Holyfiled because there was more money in it. There had been talk of a Holyfiled fight since the '80. Everyone wanted that fight. What good would it have done to fight Lewis and possibly lose and then fight Holyfiled? Tyson of '96 didn't fight Lewis, not a prime Tyson.

  • @bandit7498 - My bad. But Tyson was still a good fighter back then and still feared in the division. Even if he chose to fight Holyfield first he got no reason not to fight Lewis who was bypassed by the WBC even though Lewis was the number one contender. Tyson just got out of jail and they actually gave him the title shot instead of the rightfully deserving Lewis...

  • @expressivechild No doubt Lewis deserved the shot more. Won't argue with that. But hey, that's history for ya. Ali was off nearly four years and after two fights got a shot at Frazier's title. (Just like Tyson, who fought Mckneely and Mathis before getting a crack at Seldon.) Of course one can argue that Ali was more deserving since he was stripped of his title. But it's all about the dollar. Anyway, I believe it all worked out well for Lewis, don't you?

  • @bandit7498 - Sure it worked out for him. But his glory didn't come easy at all. His struggles was so much. But he was smart. He didn't fight as a pro even though he seemed to be ready. Choosing instead of sharpen up his skills. Ali didn't even lose the title. There is no doubt he deserved the title shot more than anyone else.... But of course, in the end, Lewis had it all and has nothing left to prove.

  • @expressivechild Like I said, I agree with that. But boxing, like any other sport, is a business. At the time Holyfield/Tyson was what the people wanted. Lewis, though a very dangerous heavyweight, had not yet made the imprint on the American public that he would later on. So from a business stand point it made more sense to fight Holyfield. If Mike lost to Lweis back then NO one would care about Holyfield/Tyson. But losing to Holyfield, later on people were intrigued by Lewis/Tyson.

  • @bandit7498

Yeah but wasn't the highest earning HW fight Lewis vs Tyson not Tyson vs Holyield.

  • @403766 I'm not sure. Maybe. So what? My point still stands. The world had been clamoring for Tyson/Holyfield for years. No one really cared about Lewis at the time Tyson/Holyfield fought. The bigger business was in Tyson/Holyfield. By the time Tyson fought Lewis, Lewis had established himself as THE heavyweight to beat. Money pal. What if Tyson had fought Lewis and Lewis had beaten Tyson, the Holyfield fight would have been no where near as lucrative. Tyson sold the Lewis fight well.

  • @bandit7498

I wouldn't say no-one cared about Lewis as he was Heavyweight world champion and had beaten names such as "Razor" Ruddock, Tony Tucker, Frank Bruno, Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer and was former WBC champion and current IBO champ.

  • @403766 Brother, I'm not arguing that Lewis wasn't the tougher opponent for Tyson at that time. I'm simply talking marketing. I'm talking about the fact that the public had been clamoring for Tyson/Holyfield since before Mike lost to Douglas. For years the public wanted Tyson/Holyfield. The general public, the PPV ticket buyers weren't all that interested in Lewis. And I'm pretty sure King knew if Tyson lost to Lewis at that time a Tyson/Holyfield fight wouldn't be worth what it was at the time.

  • @bandit7498

Ahh now I get you fair enough

  • No doubt Vitali is tough, but Lewis made pizza of his face hence why the fight was stopped. They cuts were quite bad.

  • when did he fight riddick bowe? (not sayin that he couldnt beat him, but I dont recall them fightin')

  • @Omikron Olympics 1988 Seoul

Bowe was scared of Lennox hands down.

  • @Omikron Because Bowe wouldn't fight him. Bowe dropped the WBC belt in the trash because Lewis was the WBC mandatory and Bowe didn't want to fight Lewis. Lewis did beat him in the amateurs though.

  • Yes he is.

  • evander holyfield is the better of the trio lewis and tyson ...thats my opinion but i can be wrong ......holyfield beat tyson tyson's punches bounced of holy's head but he lost to lewis only by 2 points ...

  • Holy is a great fighter, defeated Tyson twice and bravely against Lennox twice. His defeat to Bowe, as I see it, only because he fell into Bowe's trap, Bowe is a bigger man with excellent infight skills, Holy is physically smaller, and he couldn't use his combo well, dropped into infights with Bowe and he lose two out of three. While Lewis is an excellent outside fighter, so Holy looks better against Lennox.

  • In my eyes, Holyfield is the best pound for pound of the three, no doubt. But as a heavyweight Lewis is bettter, just look at their records, it's speaks for itself.

  • Evender speaks out the truch, fucking Bowe didn't want to fight Lennox.

  • Birth place West Ham, London, England-- how is that canadian? told

  • @bradjones34 Why should birth place matter? The guy was of Jamaican descent, grew up in Canada, trained in the US, and later moved back to England. He is from nowhere really.

  • @bradjones34 you do know he only british in citizenship right he is jamaican both his paremnts were born in jamaica but he wa borned and raised in england

  • You are in denial. Vitali has another lose on his record for a reason LL beat him. Keep in mind LL was out of shape and he still defeated Vitali. It doesn't matter if it wasn't pretty he won because of the cut.

  • he was trana fight him for a wile b4 an tyson always chose to fihjt holifield insted

  • vitali was winning but that fight was stopped for good reason, his face was a mess

  • LOL, ARE YOU NUTTS? lewis would not quit like vitali did cause he hurt hes shoulder like he did vs chris byrd.. PRIME 2000 LEWIS WOULD KO VITALI

  • Lennox is the best..

  • This

  • vitali=good.....lewis=greatest

  • best boxer of the history

  • He is the greatest
