  • how could anybody ever dislike this????

  • @jaimekaliente This looks amazing, do you know any tutorials, where i could learn both the BASICS of Modelling & Vray?

If soo that would be AMAZING!! :)

  • @jaimekaliente y replicar y escribe si no entender :)

  • @leafblowinSK8 vray is not modling its matirials

  • @hellfang132 i know :p

I said "learn *BOTH* basic modelling AND Vray ;)

So if you know where i could learn either, it wold be amazing ;)

Ps. where/how did u learn Vray??

  • Is it hard to learn?

  • If you do not know n othing about 3D it is insanely hard! :) So you better start right this moment...

  • It's more like.

Somewhat easy to learn, very difficult to master. Start with free editions of Max or Maya or any other 3d program to help you start getting the feel of what you want to do.

There are more than enough tutorials out there to get you from not knowing a darn thing to all the way up to modeling cars, ships etc...

It's really all in how much time and desire you want to put into it.

  • Yeah, and worst thing that adds to learning curve is long rendering time.

Unfortunately, I cannot buy new computer right now.

  • @izvarzone true true but render times arent as bad unless your going for realistic lighting. For just basic modelling and getting the feel of it, just about any system will do :)

  • it's easy, vray has prepaired everything for you, just use and have a good rendering

  • That's very misleading. You still have to set up your environments, your materials, your lighting, and most importantly, it helps to know how to set up all the different settings like light cache, GI, caustics, not to mention with Vray, there are so many heirarchies. You may toggle one setting and completely hose 3 others that you weren't aware of.

However, there are tutorials for all of this as well :) Just wanted to point out that the deeper you go into Vray, the crazier it gets.

  • AAAAA

  • fuck of i want tutorial where is that

  • Comment removed

  • most of the time, you can't have control without effort. it always ends up with much higher quality if you TRY.

  • WHAT?!?!?!?!? THIS IS AMAZING! I DIDN't know that you can do that!

  • what? you didn't know you could get photorealistic renders from a photorealistic rendering engine :/

  • @electriktricks could you suggest one??

  • @wazzee vray is pretty much industry standard, along with mental ray (which comes with maya and 3ds max), some people like to use maxwell for still images, just because it's super easy to use and gives great results (but takes forever so isn't that useful)

basically, learn Vray or mental ray

although I actually use advanced render 3, which comes with Cinema4d

  • @electriktricks Thanks. :) Will do some research. Have a good day.

  • how much time did it take?

  • mm dude, i have maya 8.5, and i got into vray homepage, but i cant find the link to download vray for maya, please help me!

  • vray was initially introduced for 3d studio max.

I don't know if Autodesk actually bothered to make a plugin for Maya after they acquired it from its parent company.

Plus 3ds max is more comprehensive. Not only can it support V-Ray it also supports the Brazil Plugin ;) Research that one.

  • can you tell me what's the difference between vray and 3ds Max? because I know they r not the same program for 3d designing but... somehow relate to each other. I'm so confused. lol

  • 3ds max is the tool to make your materials, meshes, lighting, etc...

When you go to render that image you can either use the default scanline, or you can use mental ray, or as a seperate addon you can use Vray. You can't use vray to model with, only to render your final scenes with more accurate and realistic lighting and some materials as well.

  • is this released?

  • with the materials

    i think >_>

  • It's just amazing

  • quality, how did you get the first image? the black and white lines, it has given me ideas

  • vry cool final image!
