I found one deaf scammer on facebook. Claimed to have gone to Louisania School for the Deaf. Keep asking if I was deaf and if I was interested in deaf lottery. She said she won $500K for deaf lottery man harry. What a joke. She is still on Facebook as Joan Calland. As soon as I mentioned that my father worked for the FBI office in Knoxville, TN she blocked me. I noticed that all her photos were from people in Indonesia. She only white person in pics.

Hello, thanks for sharing this with us. I must say, I find it very silly that a commenters tell you not to upload at DVTV. One cannot upload at DVTV. Anyone can embed their vlogs to DVTV. Another encouraged you to close account at DVTV.

Continue to use DVTV. Those people are against DVTV because they believe other people's false accusation who left DVTV claiming to be victims. We know it is not true. Just friends fighting and then spread rumors about DVTV. Thx again.

Thank you for this vlog. I am... Was a victim last Friday. I fought back by posting on FB and warning everyone that I never did friend requests on Friday, and those who accidently "friended" on my fake profile, I sent them private messages about it and I think it worked! I pray it worked.....

Good job for bringing tips. I'm deaf myself but NEVER NEVER encountered a scammer who steals info because i use firefox and i prevent a lot of stuff by buying AVG Pro anti-virus and security. It has identity protection and link scanner. So basically nobody can even steal your ID and information because it's imprinted in the system and only me can control it. Not once i seen anyone steal my info. Facebook is a big fail there. You need to exploit this information so facebook have bad PR.

Been a victim of these scammers, they tried to get me to give them my personal information and I would not do so.

Just need to understand how to remove these people off my 'friends' list so they cant get anymore info.

Hi I had one real friend that got hacker once which I have his two profiles from chat online after I accident confirmed him. I blocked him right away after asking me for money. It helps to know which one is for real and blocked him from hacker.

Hiya Dude. yeah, I agreed with you... sometimes i am feeble minded with these ones who were trying to do get my money out... so... I know it is not easy but i am on your side eventhrough I dunno who you are. .but of course you are anger and frustrated with the ripoff hackers, scammers.. i am not sure how the true facebook victims like you could file the complain to the law to set up new way to protect us.. i am not well knowing with the tech world... i am old fashioned guy... Thank you, Andrew. I was a "Facebook" victim. I warned my friends that my FB page had been hacked. I removed Facebook a month ago (account to be deactived). About a week later, I got email from Facebook, notified me that my account has been active which should NOT. I went back and tried again, this time to change my profile, password, etc. My opinion, Facebook is NO GOOD!! Those people in Facebook DOES NOT CARE !!

FYI. I have two facebook accounts with same name, except I add my middle initials. One account is for games, and the other for no games/business account only. Some of my friends don't want to see all the game postings, I usually tell them to add my other name to my account and remove the game account.

Thank ya very much for your Vlog about hackers or scammers. Ya are not alone as mortgage property victims, too!! For example, scam letters were sent out and offer such refinance that lead them lost their homes. My wife called Federal Commission Trade that she complained those scam letters were no stop to us. FTC gave her toll phone number and she called there as opt out screen. they were stopped!! Ya should check out with FTC!

those who created duplicates of others' profile are from FB office . . their purpose is to make more numbers of members in order to make more money . . You see that FB has over 200 million members . . real BS! :)

It is easy not to let anyone see your profile informations is to use privacy settings and click view settings then click all lists as friends only. When you do that, you can preview your profile after you set up friends only except friends of friend for " I'm tagged in" (that's what I have right now). You will see what your profile looks like when anyone look up your profile when they aren't in your list. (Read my message below after this for continue)

No one can read all informations and they can only send you a message if they aren't in your FB friend list. Any new friend can send message if they find you, it is simple. Scammer also can't see any of your friends list if you do that. That helps little :)

Thanks Andrew for sharing this with us on how to recognize false FB users! Some of my friends had this problem and I paged them to see if they sent me link...no, then i removed it and logged out right away as I didn't want the hackers/spammers to get mine, either!! Thanks again!!

I post it on my Facebook and spread it to my deaf friends. Protect and learn about it.. I already knew about it long time ago, many people don't know nothing about security and protection against the scammers. Now you explained very well. Thank you :) And I feel so sorry for you.
