Webb should have pointed out that Allen is using averages. He shouldn't assume people know that Allen is being sneaky. Taxes raised on 3 million Americans, if those Americans are the upper crust, means tax cuts for millions more. Allen uses averages to say that most people are getting big tax cuts, ignoring that middle class tax cuts are only a couple hundred dollars, while the rich get tens of thousands.
yeah, i was thinking about that....what are the odds that most of the people who pay the inheritance tax live in va? not too unlikely given its proximity to the levers of power...
Also people should know that Allen is completely misrepresenting the estate tax and Webb's stance on it. Webb wants to make it so it's a 55% tax on any estate worth over $5 million. Allen would have you believe everybody has to pay a "death tax." NOPE! I don't think millionaires having to pay taxes should be the focus of our Senator. Shows you who he really cares and thinks about.
