I can't claim to know that much about music production no, but I have known about Autechre for about 4 years or so. I know my review was lacking in depth and have acknowledged that several times, it's probbaly less of a review and more of a ramble about first thoughts on the album I guess.

this is a weird review, you're kinda stating the obvious about the sounds i can already hear for myself when i listen to the album... this music doesn't lend itself well to critics or reviews. you just have to hear it for yourself and decide if you can handle the sound of a pure headache, or if you find yourself lost in algorhythmic mathematical beauty.

a lot of people are mostly apathetic about it.

ae got too abstract to me - you can also notice that the tracks this guy likes most are the ones with a recognizable melody or rhythm so there really is the question about how great hyperabstract tunes really are.

I am generally more of a fan of autechre's more melodic music that's true, for instance gantz graf is just a tune I can't really make myself enjoy no matter how many times I hear it.

You can find music in the noise of a cat being murdered if you listen to it long enough, but that doesn't make it great music and packaging it in a tin box and pretending its limited won't make it sound any better. Jesus, everything is limited these days, even Kit Kats!

Who cares? Autechre haven't made a decent tune for 10 years. Even though the new stuff is crap, people still buy it because it makes them 'cool'. I couldn't waste my time listening to any album a second time, just because I didn't like it the first time. Its called wasting your time - there are plenty of albums around that give me way more pleasure or surprises, so why keep listening to something until it sinks in?

Na, no radio show for this guy. Theres too much dead air time with all his long pauses. Plus he mumbles a lot and is barely audible and he struggles to pronounce words. Plus his descriptions of the tracks is shit "cool tune", "its alright", "its groovy", "quality tune". He doesnt have a fucking clue.

Face for the radio though.

I did it cos I felt like it, sure my review may not be the most indepth or detailed but I was doing it all off the top of my head with no idea of what I was going to say so considering that I think I did an ok job of portaying my thoughts on the album. I really don't appreicate getting compared to paris hilton btw. Also theres no way I could have played every track without having a video of mammoth length.
