Yes the TD-12 has some good sounds. If you really want to wake it up check out Vexpressions. They'll make your TD-12 sound even better.

@darra888 Not sure about the pads but the cymbals will work. You still only get single zone without choke.

Guess I should clarify. My above answer was if using the DM5 module. Using the TD-6 you can use the cymbal and have dual zone with choke but again I'm not sure about Yamaha pads.

@darra888 The cymbal pads will work, but you will only get one zone. You will need to split to get 2 zones. You are unable to get three zones. The pads would also work the same way.
