@aotule there is no such thing as sunnis, shia, ahmadiyyas. Our Prophet (SW) warned us about sects. As for Sufi, they are not supporter of so called divided muslims that we call sunni, shia. It is about...well I recommend you start w/ the story of Rumi, Ibn Al Arabi. Their journey AND finally their volumes of work that indicate they cared not about words, they cared about being muslim.

I'm in the same boat as him...My whole family is non-Muslim and last year my father died as a non-Muslim. I wish my family was Muslim like so many of the brothers and sisters I see so that I have a source of strength to fall back on, but that's just not my reality. Instead of getting words of encouragement from my family to further my deen, I get yelled at for buying Islamic books. My family wants nothing to do with me and the contact has been cut. I love them, but I love Allah more.
