Hi Randolph-I appreciate your thoughts but I watched the video again and looked at tthe manual and I am still stupid!!! In the manual on page 220, under specifications, it reads'Number of tracks-144...(16 tracks + Stereo TrackS) x 8 Virtual.I can see the 16*8= is 128 and i am lead to believe there is 1 stereo track which would be 128 +8=136 ,but I guess they are saying there are 2 stereo tracks(where?-i dunno)....so I dunno?
@garymyukich I'm not sure, but I think he meant 8 mono tracks and 4 stereo tracks, 16 tracks total, plus 8 virtual tracks each = 16 * 9 = 144 tracks. ???
aw1600 is awesome, for those that have a hard time figuring it out there are some great tutorial sites out there....this unit is excellent..8 inputs allow you to record a full band live off the floor...its easy to use
A few Questions: 1. If I install the ADAT card, could I use the AW1600 as a mxier and route the 8 input channels (or already pre-recorded 8 tracks) trough the expansion card to the ADAT input of a PC sound card? 2. Does the AW1600 have mixing automation (can I record fader and effect knob movements)? Thanks
I was really seeking a user's guide video, not a promo video? The AW1600 is the most difficult to be used as I wished that I did not buy it. I am now using Garage Band from Apple Computer as it is the most easiest!
I was seeking a You Tube video to show me how to use my AW1600, not a promo video. The AW1600 is the most complicated as I am sorry that I bought it. I now use Garage Band as it is the most easiest from Apple Computer.
Does anyone know why my CD plays very noticeably slow on other CD players after I burn the CD from the aw1600? I think it might have something to do with the tempo map or something simlar.
there all pretty much the same i own aw 16g.its older but pretty much the same internally as far as the pitch its called pitch change in the aw 16g its just really minus some inputs and usb.this don t stop it from competing with the other models.plus its cheaper.and like 4416 and the 2816 its a tad bit more anologe.
this machine is good, but , the older version the aw2816 and 4416 are better, because you can record 16 input simultaneously in 24 bit 48, I've done it with the 2816, if you get the old one, you will find it cheaper get two, and have 32 tracks and now can record 32 tracks if you need it. With the aw2400, you can record only 12 channels in 24 and that's it. If you have any trick for aw2400 please share....
In those company vids they point out features that can be found thousand times in the internet. In this vid too, out of one thing: when he shows the screen where you can easily route the inputs to the tracks. this is the way videos should go! what about the workflow? what do you see on the screen? how to record more tracks at once? can fx be recorded along or do you have to bounce them in? it should alleviate the decision between pc or daw or another daw.
i want to know if with aw1600 we can listen to some tracks without record them during bounce mode. for example: tracks 1,2,3 bounced to 7,8 tracks; can i listen to 4,5,6 tracks whe i make the bounce mode? i used to record with a 4 tracks anaolg recoder, the Yamaha mt120, and i want to find the same editing feeling.
yes, select the buses of all the channels that you want to bounce , and the ones you don't just leave them blank...that works for me, if you have another way , please share...
You can get one new for around $700, we got one for our band for demo recordings and live recording and it's been working great for both. It's advisable to have a program like Cubase, Protools etc to do the final EQ'ing and mixing in though.
@acoustikim04 i bought mine in a music store 2 years ago brand new-the suggested price then was $1600.00.I got it for $1000.00.only 5 months ago it was stolen but i saw it in a pawn shop and they were asking $500.00.I am from sault ste marie,ontario,canada
That's easy??? yeah if you've been studying it like for ever, i have one and can't work it out at all..
